When the final episode of Union Cross dropped a while back, I had thought that it was weird that nobody really talked about Lauriam and Elrena. So I decided to dig a little deeper, and this is the theory that I came up with. I hope you enjoy!

Interesting theory. I did kind of hope that Lauriam and Elrena would be like a Jessie and James sort of duo. However I believe that final darkness that just “disappeared” after having that conversation with Luxu will be meant for whomever will be the seventh member on the side of MoM represented by the chess pieces. I’m imagining Strelitzia, thus causing an even bigger emotional crisis to be on stakes for the crew since Ventus also needs to be struck down due to the Master’s plan. I’m also hoping that somehow Vanitas speaks to Ventus during their travel to the world of darkness.
That's a good point about Strelitzia, and an interesting theory in itself. Wouldn't that still leave one darkness left? Or are you assuming Luxu took in that willfull darkness? There should be 13 total with 7 going to the strongest. So your theory works better than mine when focusing on the seven strongest (MOM + 5 Union Leaders + Strelitzia). I'm thinking that all 13 darkness's are meant for vessels, otherwise Ventus would not have been targeted to begin with. As of right now though, all the darkness's can be accounted for somewhere except one (I'm counting the one that was with Luxu though it's whereabouts is unknown as well). Maybe that missing one is with the Queen of Hearts from Dark Road? I honestly don't know.
I might make a video going further into this topic though, because I like where you are going. Thank you so much for bringing up your own thoughts on the matter! And yes, I agree that Ventus and Venitus need to have a chat, and I hope that Numora goes and explores the bbs trio in the realm of darkness. That would be so cool!
They took the ark, so they lost their memory. They lived humble lives in the dominion and woodlands, respectively.
Melificent began her campaign and plunged the worlds into darkness, while gathering associates.
Lauriam and elrena’s nobodies landed in the realm in between, where Luxu later recruited them, after learning of their nonexistence there.
Ventus, lauriam and elena and skuld lost their memories as they didnt follow proper rules of time travel as explained by luxu. They needed a medium and someone with their memories which didnt happen. Wras maleficent followed this so she remembered everything
Interesting. I was thinking that they could arrive at a point unless there was a medium and someone with memories. It never occurred to me that they could simply arrive at a point regardless, but experience repricussions if the rules are not followed.
I love this theory, and it makes a lot of sense, and even the reasoning for larxene using lightning magic as her main type since she can control ice too? But marluxia as laurium still had his flower theme in union cross, his keyblade, his sister's name and where they conversed on the flowerbed too, so maybe that influenced where he awoke? And his other theme besides being rose themed is being a repeaper with his scythe and countdown moves, so maybe his sister's death had that impact on him since that was what made me vulnerable to darkness as we saw in union cross and explains why his final form has the imagery of a female who could be based of strelitzia too
Maybe the darkness plays off of their negative emotions, and it's those negative emotions that grant them power. That's kinda the reasoning for a lot of power ups in anime in general (strong emotions = strong powers?). Laurium did promise brain to focus on Strelitzia, so your theory makes a lot of sense. Do you have a feeling that while Sora and Riku are busy trying to survive in quadradum, Kairi will be busy traveling the Disney worlds(maybe with Donald and Goofy)?🤔
@@juicedieman1052 I see here traveling around with Aqua more than Donald and Goofy. Personally, I want to see a game where Aqua, Kairi, Ven and Terra explore Ven's past. Maybe they could meet up with Lauriam and Elrena?

@@juicedieman1052 Theoretically yes, though in Melody of Memories, Yen Sid told Micky and Kairi that everyone searching for Sora should be recalled since he isn't even in their reality. Kairi wants to train under Aqua, so I can see a spin off game where she joins the wayward trio and takes the Mark of Mastery.
Elrena was asocial and distant. Her Chirithy even noted that her interest in helping find Strelitzia wasn’t like her.
Although, what we’re told wasn’t what we were shown… so who knows.

I think I get what you mean. She is an introvert until it came to helping Lauriam out. If anything, her 180 to becoming such a nasty character in Chain of Memories is so intriguing to me. What made her change? That's why I think being possessed by a darkness might have affected her

My personal theory to this is:
Elena is tsundre, and when she became a nobody she lost her heart(aka her conscience)
My thought on the nobodies is that they retain memories/emotions of their past self/lives(though Marluxia/Larexne would remember much similar to Ventus. But they retain vague memories of their promise to find/look after someone important, which explains why they work together)
Nobodies still lose their hearts, though I feel it's more losing their sense of feeling any remorse for their actions.
Axel having no remorse for killing other members, the nobodies showing no remorse for using the heroes to accomplish their goals.
In KH3/DDD, we see the nobodies gaining their original forms back and having their conscience back try to make things up to the heroes by helping them in defeating the bad guys.
This is mainly my take on the whole thing.
If Elrena landed in Enchanted Dominion, and Maleficent can traverse between both Enchanted Dominion _and_ Radiant Garden, who's not to say that Elrena is Subject X? I've been thinking this for 4 years now, and I won't change my mind on thinking this. Maleficent has had _too_ many significant roles in Radiant Garden, and she also plays a role in regards to Xehanort/MoM.
Elrena being subject X is definitely interesting. I'll keep that in mind!
@@TheAnimeOveranalyst it's almost as if Larxene had been put through some sort of trauma when it comes to the heart, and she's always super sensitive about that. It would make perfect sense why Larxene is so much more different than Elrena.
Subject x is supposed to have black hair and Isa and Lea would have remembered her if she was.
@@TyrontheRex Black hair was never specified, and Skuld was a Union leader, so she retained her memories during the time jump, so she is out of the picture.
I don't believe Maleficent is able to travel between worlds until BBS when Xehanort meets her and gives her knowledge of the outside. At the least BBS. At the latest she can traverse worlds before KH1 when the heartless have started destroying everything. I said subject x had black hair because I recently read some comments that claimed there was a secret file stating she did. Though I haven't been able to confirm it. Though Elrena couldn't have been subject X because the KH3 secret report #1 states the person doesn't remember themselves even after many years.

Marluxia (lauriam) didn't remember his past after the time jump and he was a union leader. Elrena didn't either. Xemnas says as much in the graveyard scene with the org meeting of Marluxia, Larxene, Demyx and Luxord.
Kingdom Hearts 2 has a scene where Xigbar and Zexion talk, with Zexion scolding Xigbar for slacking off around the castle when he's meant to be out on duty looking for new members. Xigbar says he already did his job, as he had just recruited Marluxia.
Given what we know about Xigbar now, it's likely that he's responsible for Lauriam becoming Marluxia.

All I want to know is why they don't have keyblades? From 358/2 days getting a nobody with Keyblade was mission number 1. Nobodies can have Keyblades, even individuals with darkness can have a Keyblades. Even individuals with memory loss can summon Keyblades. So what happened? Surely having a willful darkness doesn't prevent you from getting a keyblade because Luxu and the others still have them.
You bring up a really good point. All I can think of is that Numora was not really planning them to be more than simple villains until after those games came out. I might think it over and come up with a B.S. answer XD
It may be a similar situation to Sora during the hollow bastion part of kh1 where he loses the keyblade, since they seem to respond directly to the heart, there may be some situation going on with those two, or rather four and why we get the whole scene of Xemnas talking about the slumbering Keyblade Legacy within each of them.
@@zero1343 That's true. They may not even have remembered that they had keyblades until after kh3. Or, going along with the KH1 logic, perhaps their hearts proved not to be strong enough. Like how Riku lost the keyblade after Sora demonstrated a stronger heart.
I always found it weird, that "Nymph" floats in at Larxenes introduction.
In greek mythology a nymph is generally regarded as personifications of nature.
As they needed a medium to reform their bodies, it checks out why Larxene has lightning powers
I always saw Nymph as a derogatory of her personality. She is cunning and snarky and a little playful, like a Nymph in mythology. Deadly as well.
The "proof of existence" room in KH2 has "graves" for each organization member, and checking each grave reveals their title/nickname/epithet. Larxene's is "The savage nymph," like how Xigbbar is "The freeshooter," Saix is "The luna diviner," etc. Bits of their titles float around in all their intros.

I have no idea why you're using accentuation for certain names. Idk why u said Anastasia instead of Snow White. Elrena landed in Enchanted Dominion not in the dwarf woodlands. The scene she lands on does look like the cliff you fought the wretched witch at but it's actually Maleficent's Forbidden Mountain during a thunder storm. While your theory sounds good I'm not exactly convinced. Xigbar mentions that he found Marluxia (even tho he didn't pronounce his name correctly) recently to an adult Zexion. Snow White is shown to have been captured sometime after the start of KH1 as she can be seen if you don't finish wonderland before finishing deep jungle, being brought in by the disney villains. So that falls in line with Marluxia and him joining as we can assume this takes place during kh1 before Roxas joins and Xenmas challenges sora to a battle in the chapel we fought dragon Maleficent in. The only wrench is Larxene as she joined after Marluxia as number XII and Maleficent had already conquered enchanted Dominion with darkness and we assume had already made contact with all the villains. She had to have been recruited either immediately after Marluxia or there's some sort of time dilation going on between worlds. Would explain why Aurora is still young after we meet her in BBS and she looks the same age in KH1 even though that takes place 10 years apart. Only other theory is she found a way to travel away from Enchanted Dominion (or maybe a traverse town situation since the world she was on disappeared) and then got recruited. Also doesn't explain how they become nobodies unless the worlds they were in got swallowed up by darkness and they got turned into nobodies after producing heartless. It would explain why they lost their memories and original personalities. Roxas had no clue where he came from or any memories when he 1st shows up in the worlds and his name was picked out for him. The apprentices, lea & isa retained their memories and personalities because they become nobodies from the experiments and making artificial heartless.
That's all fair enough. You brought up some really good points, that I can't really argue against. Plus my theory does not explain how they got their weapons, or their powers. I hope that in the future games, we will get a clarification on what happened to them when they arrived to the present timeline. Thank you for all the clarifications!

Xigbar/Luxu admitted to finding and recruiting Marluxia. Perhaps he found Larxene as well. Maybe he has something to do with their shift in personalities? As far as their memories go I’m not sure why they lost it while Brain kept his when he woke up in Scala.
Yeah. That's why I am thinking the Willful Darkness had something to do with it. Something about taking them in enhances their emotions maybe. Enhanced emotions lead to memory loss?
It was the medium they didn't have mediums well Brain did so that's why he remembers

@@nekogamer2508 I'm pretty sure a medium is required to bring someone back. I was thinking that the rosebed was Laurium's medium while maybe the lightning is Elrena's? Or was it MOM keyblade? I'm not 100% sure though, so you might be right that they don't have a medium.

I think your theory is very plausible. Funny how nobody really talked about this. This might actually be true to some extent...but hopefully we get to see what became of the two soon.

Well, those Worlds fell to darkness because of Maleficent. She was going after the Princesses of Heart. Which means they ran into Maleficent or her Heartless. We see in Kingdom Hearts One that the Disney villians lead the Heartless to the Keyhole to destroy the World and feed it to Kingdom Hearts.
We also know Maleficent is Ansem SOD and Xehanort's tool, so
Yeah. I was wondering about where Maleficent fell in with all of this, since. You are right that she is their tool and that she was the driving force for leading the Heartless to every world's Keyhole.. So, she probably had more of a direct hand to the Dwarven Woodlands destruction than Elrena and Lauriam. That being said, she could have possibly influenced them like she did with Terra in BBS (Mind Control/Awaking Darkness). Either way, Maleficent ended up with Aurora and definitely took credit for the destruction of the world.

I hope their heart's get reconstructed in Kingdom Hearts 4 so, they can be like allies to Sora, Donald, and Goofy in a certain Disney world.
I can see them helping Kairi train with Aqua even. Maybe as a tutorial in order to help us learn the mechanics of the game.
I don’t believe lauriem and elrana got possessed by darkness. I think 1 definitely resides within luxu, as per the masters plan. And 1 would be an unknown, as per the masters plan. I think maybe since luxu already had a darkness inside him, the unknown darkness did not possess luxu for some reason (maybe the darkness inside luxu wouldnt allow another to inhabit the host, sort of like a “this is my body get your own” sort of deal, not sure). The unknown darkness instead stayed within the age of fairy tales, continuing on with the regualer flow of time, waiting for a worthy candidate to inhabit. Who this candidate is, i believe it could be xehanort. His heart is very strong, and easily susceptible due to his infatuation with the darkness. And defeating xehanort at the end of KH3 also destroyed this unknown darkness. This could also explain the masters conversation with xehanort during remind dlc, the master had finally found a worthy vessel for the final 13th darkness
Oh that is a really good point about Xehanort!!! I'll really need to look at that conversation between him and the MOM again, but you might be right. Well, I personally think the 4 darkness's are still trapped in the data world, since the master sees all. I also believe that he knows what to put in the book to make sure events happen that are not in the book. I personally think it would make sense with his character to do that in order to ensure his backup plan went to plan. For why no one has memory let's look at potential people who hold the memories that could bring them back along with the medium: Luxu, Ventus, Xehanort, and the MoM. Now what could all these people have in common? Darkness Possession perhaps? What was it that brought back Lauriam's memory back? These are the questions you should be asking. Also, no it can't be Skuld who was the memories, because Skuld didn't show up until Xehanort had started his heart experiment's and by then It would have been too late. Probably, but being given memories by someone with memory loss is not going to go well. So in conclusion Xehanort got the final darkness, People with darkness can't restore the memories of people who have lost their's and neither can people who can't remember themselves
If the old novels are still canon, the only explanation we have for Larxene is that she preferred not to have a heart so that she doesn't have to experience heartbreak ever again.

Honestly, same with Elrena. I have no good answer except "he forgot". So his subconscious made the scythe instead? It's quite a stretch but there honestly is no good answer for that question.
@@TheAnimeOveranalyst you could argue that becoming a nobody or heartless makes you lose your keyblade. but lingering will (which is presumably terra's nobody), and Roxas just debunks that outright.

@@kaiyodei Right now, it is all speculation on how they got their powers. In Birth By Sleep, Lee had these frisbee things, so he had the skills to throw the chakrams. Otherwise, it is never really explained how everyone got their powers.

Yup. Dunno what I was thinking when I wrote the script.
the very process of using the ark causes amnesia. that's why ventus, maleficent, marluxia, and larxene didn't remember the ancient past.
although, brain used the ark but didn't get amnesia. my head canon is that luxu stole brain's body and sent him to the future via the ark. in this scenario, brain time travels as a disembodied heart. neither his body nor soul are destroyed like everyone else's. time travelling as a disembodied heart doesn't cause amnesia, as evidenced by the keyblade time travel method. you only get amnesia once you return to your proper time period.
tl;dr
it seems that the bodily destruction via by the ark is the specific cause of the amnesia. thus, using the ark as a disembodied heart won't affect one's memories. e.g. brain
That is definitely a possibility. Though, I'm not convince that Maleficent got amnesia. She just had different priorities after being restored in KH2. She was more trying to oppose Organization XIII in that game. Once they were defeated by Sora, she set out looking for the Black Box that Luxu had.
All that being said, I do like your head cannon with Brain. Luxu would have had to have do that immediately before Ephemer and Skuld arrived, which is a possibility. I'd have to take another look at that cutscene to see if there was still an arc left behind or not.
@@TheAnimeOveranalyst there's an indeterminate amount of time for, say, luxu to call the last data pod to the real world and shove brain's disembodied heart inside it while ephemer and skuld took a look outside. we have no way of knowing how long the that trip, to and from, took. all we know is that the ark was in the castle basement.

if luxu truly did pass no name on and wandered keyblade-less as he stated in that secret report, then why would he steal brain's body and soul? what reason would he have to lie to, well, himself? my "duct tape" hypothesis is that it was solely so that brain could remember his past.
I know this justification is weak at best, but it wouldn't be the first time unnecessary actions were taken. remember when brain gave master defender to ephemer? what was the point of him going keyblade-less for a guy who already had his own keyblade? probably just for the sake of an unnecessary fake out.

otherwise, what, is master defender the only keyblade that can transform landscapes (land of departure to castle oblivion, daybreak town to scala)?
1) how would brain know that? MoM censored the fuck out of history. the existence of sentient darkness and the war crimes they committed on previous keyblade wielders should be common knowledge, but not even luxu knew that. and he censored history AGAIN when he mandated the erasure of almost everyone's memories of the keyblade war.
2) ephemer didn't transform daybreak town into scala. it was already white and flooded by the time his pod opened. at most, ephemer used master defender to... create architecture out of thin air?? and also inexplicably repopulate the entire human race by himself....
@@Dreq458 Ephemer using master defender to create Scala makes sense to me. I'm not sold on MoM censoring history though. The entire point of appointing the dandelions as Union Leaders was so that when everyone else loses their memory, they would not forget. He wanted at least some people to remember history, as to not repeat it.
So..why the hell is marluxia and larceny full adults yet at the end of union cross they are clearly still teenagers...
There might have been a small time span between the time they used the arc and when they became nobodies. Keep in mind that they are members 11 and 12 in the organization.
