Unlike most videos labeled as beginner level, especially ones for socks or slippers, this one truly is very easy. ☺ I’ve only been loom knitting a few months and so far, I’ve only made hats in various stitches and I haven’t seamed anything. This will be my first foray into the slipper realm and my first time using the double stitch. I’m glad that I found this ‘oldie but goodie’ video. Thank you. 😀
This was a very well presented tutorial. Slow-paced enough for newbies (like me) to be able to understand and learn easily--but not so slow as to be boring. The young lady doing the presentation speaks slowly and clearly, and the camera angles and lighting are excellent. Only negative...she should SMILE more. She is very pretty, but seems too clinical (not a bad thing for this type of tutorial). She finally cracks a smile at the very end, and Voila! her face is transformed. Loved the project.

Thank you for this pattern they came out beautiful first time! I never realized that I could do the the three loop stitch, I had never done any of my looms with one skein of yarn! I had always thought you needed two strands of yarn coming in. The stitch it beautiful you are a genius. Your directions were great, I love these!

Thank you for this pattern. I made tiny red slippers for my granddaughter tonight after watching this. This pattern is super easy, fits very well, and is warm when using wool.
Don't understand how you make "tiny" slippers on a 24 peg loom. The slippers I made were soooo wide. What if someone has super narrow feet? Or a child? I've heard of people using 18 peg looms, but haven't been able to find one.
Love this pattern when I can keep my attention on it, it seems like it takes forever but it doesn't it is just the same stitch over and over again! Thank you for sharing this with us it is wonderful!

I love it now im working on my 2nd pair. The 3 strand takes to long but the out come is awesome. Thans for sharing. I used red heart and the color i used was wildflowers kinda similar to yours :)

would love to know how to make this smaller - ladies size 6 with bulky (5) weight yarn.
My son wanted bulky yarn so I adjusted the stitches per inch but it is harder to use on the loom for sure.
and I find any type of yarn works great but it must be a size 4

I'd love to be able to break this down into children's sizes. Would you still use the measurements from heel to anklebone, then from anklebone to toe, or would you go by the shoe size?

Just finished making my set and it was very simple. Now if I want to make different sizes like I just did the size 9 and the heal part is 28 stitches I get that 6 rows =1 inch. NOw for the toe part will that always be 30 rows. Cause I want to make baby ones and child size.
Help! Mine looks like a thumbless mitten. What did I do wrong? Really want to make these. I am a beginner and have mastered cuff socks and scarves and hats.

Great video, but how do you make the matching pom pom?
Take a length or cardboard say 3" x 5". Wrap the yarn around it about 20 or more times. Slip the yarn off keeping it tight in a little bundle. Take a double loop of yarn and tie the bundle off in the center using a double knot. Clip the loops and shake it out. You have a pom pom.

Why do you use 3 loops on esch peg? n only lift off 1 leaving 2?
Angela Prescott When you lift off only one of the yarns off it makes the knit thicker. That way you don't have to use 2 strands of yarn at once to make it thicker. This is the same with scarfs too.

I am thinking of following this pattern, but I find that wrapping the yarn around three times always takes too long. Do you think it would turn out OK if I used two strands of yarn at a time and just wrapped the yarn around twice? In that case, would that change the number of rows per inch?
from what I can see you only wrap it 3 times the first time so it really (in my opinion ) doesn't take that much more time.
Can u use that loom to make any size slippers I have a two year old ?

do I use a 12 peg loom to make baby ones. and how many stitches to make a mans size 12-13. and to make newborn to 3 months. love this pattern working on one now and so far it is working great. thanks for the video. but next time show doing a few lines after your done the heal part.
Hi Ms. Leeanne. What I do is measure the foot from the tip of the toe to the end of the heel, and then subtract 2 inches for the heel part and 2 inches for the toe part. For instance: If your entire foot measurement comes to 9 inches, after you subtract for the toe and heel, you will be left with 5 inches. THAT 5 inches will be how long you should make JUST the foot part of the slipper. Just don't forget to add your 2 inches for the heel and your 2 inches for the toe as you knit along. This method works perfectly for me. Another, possibly easier way to do it would be to trace a pattern around the person's foot, cut it out and use it as a pattern or template. One last thing: If you don't know it already, yarn made slippers and socks are VERY slippery on tile and wood floors and such. I learned a neat trick of aiding this a little. I use any color of fabric "puffy paint" (I prefer Tulip brand) and "dot" the bottom of the slippers or socks with the paint. You don't have to overdo it. You'll have to allow the paint to dry for a few days, but it definately helps. I hope this helped you.

So the looming wouldnt be so loose....i realized that later in the video when i was doing it...
I sometimes use only 2 stitches too, but this little slipper will not last long through wear with only 2 rows.
ok i am lost and need to ask a question..... she said the heel section was 4 1/2 inches. got that. now she said total of 28 rows.. ok is that wrapping 28 times or 28 times pegging off. cause you wrap 3 and peg. wrap #4, then peg row 2. so am i wrapping 28 times for that measurement or am i pegging 28 times? i am stuck until someone can help me. thanks a bunch. :-)
Each row is pulling the yarn over the pegs. There will be 3 yarns, but those three yarns count as one row.
what about kids size in 11 years old and trying to knit

6 rows per inch and measure heel to front of ankle bone for first part. Then front of ankle to the toe. And the 6 per row is with the yarn she used, different yarn means different width.

You will have to do the measurements to make sure they fit. At the beginning of the video she explains that 6 rows equals about 1 inch. Your first measurement is from the back of your heel to the ankle. I wear a size 5 too and my first measurement is 5 inches. Multiply 5 x 6 (rows per inch) and your first section will be 30 rows. Then measure your foot from the front of the ankle to the end of the toes. Mine is about six inches so I would do 36 rows to finish it off. Understand?

what if i didnt want to watch the hat video? My point is, even if your doing the same thing on another video, you still need to explain it no matter what....

It really irritates me that she didn't show how to do a slip knot becuz I have no clue what it is and spend a lot of time figuring it out
+Letti Roxx Yes Letti.. The 'Slip-Knot' is made be tying the yarn left over right.. then right over left.. and then do an ordinary tie (usually) after that to seal everything secure :-)
