Every person I've seen in the workplace that fooled around, end up with a failed relationship (sometimes with a child as a byproduct), become annoyingly clingy, or create enough workplace drama that could lead into an investigation. Plus, people just don't flatout know how to stfu about private matters that don't need an audience.
