- Bec is gone for 48 hours so I took on the challenge of solo parenting to see if I could hack it! We had our baby girl Frankie in November of 2023 and to say our lives have changed immensely would an understatement. I have personally been struggling with the lack of time to be creative and try new things for myself. Bec does a lot of the heavy lifting of parenting for us on a day to day basis and truly deserves this time away more than anyone I know SO I was both excited and nervous to take on solo parenting for 48 hours. Looking back now I am so grateful to have had this alone time with Frankie and know that I will cherish these memories FOREVER!!! What was your favourite part of our 48 hours together?!

My daughter is 16. It's during this phase where I wished I had the support of the other. I can't wait for this phase to be over. I'm a high school teacher and deal student with behaviours on a daily, however, these ones I can give back to their parents/guardian's. When I get home, though , it's a totally different story. We have tough days and days where I wish I could hug her for longer periods like we used to when she was younger.

@@thedrivinghouse my adult brother who owned a scuba dive company drowned during a freak accident when the motor stopped on his boat and while trying to start it again, there was an explosion. Anything can happen so 0% chance does not exist.

Dude, thank you so much for this video. As a new father struggling through the chaos of parental leave with 9 month old baby seeing an actual real “day in the life” parenting really helps fend off the guilt created to toxic parent influencers presenting their perfectly curated lives. I will feel a little less guilting now slapping on a little RUclips for him when I need to eat 😅

But they really shouldn't. I really loved their videos, but i am considering stopping following them, because i feel i should not be able to know so much about their kid. But this is no hate for them, i just hope they stop showing this adorable kid on the internet for her own safety and to give her a normal childhood.
She is one of the most adorably, beautiful babies I have ever seen! Eamon and Bec are both beautiful people, but their child is like a perfect, perfect specimen!

VERY IMPORTANT! Even if it's only for 30 seconds PLEASE do not take Frankie in your boat without her life jacket! You never know what could happen and it's better to be safe.

It's because that child should NEVER be on the boat without a life jacket. You shouldn't apologize for voicing it. What an unimaginable tragedy it would be if something totally avoidable happened to this precious treasure.

Eamon is an incredible dude to be such a supportive partner for Bec, and an amazing dad to baby Frankie. As a 43 years *young* mom of three, I think you handled this “48 hour challenge” quite well. My “babies” are now teen, preteen, and elementary grade. I used to dislike when well-meaning individuals would tell me, “The days are long, but the years are short.” However, now I realize that it’s absolutely true. Love every moment and count it all JOY.😊
This was a great watch, truly impressed Eamon! Also as a first time mum of a 5 mth old, thankyou for showing the multiple evening wake ups and leaving in some of Frankies upset moments. Most channels cut that out and have viewers thinking it's all sunshine and rainbows! Hope to see what Bec's been up to with Craig and Aimee! 🫶🏼

Yes! The yellow hair is gone. The new haircut looks great. Love seeing how much Eamon loves his baby girl. I still can't get over how precious Frankie is😍 & I got teary-eyed when Bec returned. Everyone was so happy to welcome her home. Frankie touching her mama's cheek was too adorable! 🥰Aww, my heart!!
Oh man, when you paused and checked the monitor thinking maybe she settled, I've never watched a more real life parenting moment. I feel seen. Babies are so cute and yet so hard all at the same time. You guys are doing great.

All by yourself for 48 hours with a teething baby? Man, you crushed it! Teething is no joke. You even cleaned?? Amazing! Frankie is SO precious. And absolutely ZERO shame using tech for a bit of a break. You use the tools you have to maintain sanity. I felt to my core how Bec's reaction to seeing Frankie after two days was to almost burst into tears. You miss them so much when you're gone, even if you do need the break.
Eamon, you survived the challenge and Bec will reap the rewards of your new appreciation. And Frankie is a tiny, toothless version of Bec! Beautiful!

You did awesome! As a stay at home mom with a husband gone 11-12 hours daily during the work week...this is my daily life! My 26 month old slept through the night for the first time last night. 😂 It felt like Christmas.

I started watching you while Bec went through cancer treatment. I watched with my daughter who was eight yrs old at the time, to show her what I was going to go through. The videos really helped her understand. It was also helpful for her to see Bec after treatment, to understand that she got better. I always wanted to support your teas but I totally HATE tea. Since you're now making ice tea, and I've stopped drinking alcohol due to my cancer diagnosis, I'm going to try all three! I'm so excited! :) Hugs to all of you, but especially Frankie. Also, if I had to guess Bec's most used emoji, I would guess a heart because she's always sending out love.

This is so awesome. So nice to see a father taking on the role and then also showing gratitude. My babe is 17 now but when he/they were teething, the best thing was keeping wet baby cloths in the freezer in a zip lock.Then, when it was hurting, she would just suck on that cloth.of course and baby Tylenol. Also, so awesome taking naps with her. They’re only little like this for so long, let them be attached to you as much as they want.

I cracked up when Eamon revealed he’d eaten a pie and a whole lotta ice cream. So relatable!
My mom always tells the story of my 6'4 dad carrying me through the kitchen as a baby and smacking my forehead on the door frame by accident. This is the same dad who let me topple completely out of my wagon as a toddler (as he was pulling it down the street and harshly turned a corner)... took me as a six-year-old little girl to get my ears pierced at the darkest, most goth, scary tattoo shop he could have possibly chosen (I came home not only with little pink flowers in my ears but temporary tattoos all over my arms and legs of spiders and skulls and cars and fire)... brought me to demolition derbies when mom was out of town, wedging an old pair of (grown man's size) weed-whacking headphones he'd brought from the home garage over my ears to protect me from the loud noises. Needless to say, dads do it differently. But this is also the man who taught me to drive, still holds my hand in the grocery store even now that I'm 22, tells me I'm beautiful even when I don't believe it, and always says yes whenever I ask for a big, long hug. Eamon, you're doing a great job, and you'll be Frankie's protector forever. There are things moms will be better at, perhaps even things mom does that dad can't get quite right... but dads and their dad-activities (haha, so to speak) are something moms just can't always replicate. You guys are the cutest little family!

Carriers are life-changing. We had our youngest 3 babies in under a year, having one son then twin sons just 11 months later. I had to wear a baby carrier in front, one on my back and hold the 3rd baby in my arms while doing errands and running around with our school-aged children. I'm only 5'0 tall so I was all baby, and I would get "You poor thing" looks while grocery shopping.

Great job Eamon! It’s not easy doing it alone, and must make you appreciate Bec even more. You both are great parents. It’s been great to see a few of the different life phases you both have gone through together, and seeing you both grow into a beautiful little family 😊
Every father should do this every 6 months. It gives dads a little quality time with the child and lets dad appreciate how difficult moms jobs can be. It is very rewarding but also a lot of work. Frankie is so cute. She reminds me of the original Gerber baby. Thank you for getting back to us on Sundays. Y'all were missed.

@@dianegenx Most people comprehend she means for a full weekend, which normally wouldn't happen as one parent rarely leaves the home for multiple days like that. One thing he definitely should never do as a parent is to be online, leaving rude, snarky comments as you do, as role modeling that behavior as a parent would be completely failing one's child.
Dad's should spend a lot of time with baby way more often than every six months. Mom doesn't have to leave, just let Dad take the lead on a regular basis. It is not like Eamon has a job away from home.
Dads shouId have full time responsibility for their children 24/7 just like mom, regardless if one or both work. Why are Dads looked upon as absentee parents who need to spend “special” time with their children? It’s ridiculous.
Every six months? That amounts to neglect!!
What a dad! Girls need their Dad's positive attention so much & you, Eanon, are giving your daughter so much love, which really helps her self esteem. So cool to watch & your Frankie is gorgeous!

You’re doing amazing. No judgement here. That age is so hard and exhausting.
Only in the desire to pass on info I didn’t find until my second kid- there’s something called “baby led weaning” which I think isn’t the best name but you can google it. Basically put bite size pieces of soft food on her tray and let her pick it up and eat herself - no utensils (roasted sweet potato, banana, etc). Allows the child to explore foods on their own terms and increases their gross motor skills and independence. Bonus that it gives you an extra 20 or more minutes each meal time where you can be in the room but doing other things (like eating!)

It’s great watching Daddy really figure out what to do, what it takes, and get so comfortable with it. All fathers should do this, so they’re closer to the kiddo AND respect what Mama’s really doing. Happy family! Loved it.💕

Usually, babies aren’t too happy with wind in their face. Often causes crying. Maybe boat rides could wait awhile. But otherwise daddy, you did a great job. Most parents are extremely happy they live from day to day in the first years. Sleep is a luxury. I’m glad you appreciate how much work Bec puts into each day for you and Frankie.💕
All 3 of my daughters LOVED LOVED LOVED wind in their face. Plenty of kids do . Too often we let others tell us what to do with our kids. Go with your gut, you know your child best. I would encourage a life jacket whilst on the boat though.
I've been with kids who love the wind and who are obsessed with it and I've been with kids who hate it and sob when we even talk about going outside because they don't want to risk it. It's a very kid by kid case, and I'm sure that Eamon and Bec know Frankie the best!

Man, Eamon is such a good dad. It's so nice to see a dad silly-goofing around, narrating things, and doing things he needs to do while involving Frankie all the while being so excited to be a dad and refusing to be the dad who isn't involved or who lets mom lead. 15000000/10 dad, very lovely to see as a teacher who sees a lot of dads who are barely involved.
Exactly cos when that little girl grows up the memories she will have and hold dearest will be the bond and love of the time her parents devoted to her not the presents she get for bdays, xmas etc. Time is more precious spent with ur kids not things ❤
Married single mothers
Respect to all the single mums or dads who do this every day. They don't get enough praise. That was me in 90's. It's mentally and physically demanding. Great job, Eamon. It's a lot harder when u don't have another adult around. That's why raising babies and families is meant for 2 parents with a little help from relatives or the local community. So please if u know someone who's struggling, offer some support.

I just want to give some advice not to like force you to do it but it’s like a tip, I Norway we let out children sleep outside in their strollers to make their immune systems stronger, you just give her a blanket and put like a baby cam next to her or in the storage compartment of the stroller and when she cry’s you come and do whatever she needs you to do and let her sleep more after, just some advice/tip ps it helped me and my wife do dishes and laundry because she is outside and can’t here us

My son was behind on speaking at 15 months and we started watching miss Rachel and his vocab exploded! That woman is a saint for keeping that energy up when we can’t hahaha.

Also don't try to jump a car while wearing a baby, don't surround her with blankets when SIDS is still a real risk, don't put a floor seat on a table where she could easily throw herself off, don't leave her alone on a boat seat because you need a hat....

I have been following you guys since March 2020, I am now in my first pregnancy trimester, needless to say exhausted to do much, and you know what I did these past few days? I BINGE-WATCHED all your renovation videos from the moment you bought the cabin. It has been amazing rewatching all of them like a movie and watching you and the cabin grow ❤
Baby hack: get a baby high chair where her feet are supported instead of going out because they’re more comfortable and they’re able to eat that way give her her own baby spoon, finger foods, smash beans, avocado, sweet potato, everything and let her feed herself while you have a different spoon a different plate to feed her as well. This way by the time she’s 12 months she’s feeding her self 100%.

Everyone is in such a hurry for their kids to take care of themselves! Let a fricken baby be a baby! Just because you don't want to do things for your child! Doesn't mean everyone else wants that! Plus potting training a new baby is also so fricken ridiculous! Lazy as parents today! That's why kids are the way they are today!
There is also a way bigger choking hazard associated with lead feeding….. which is what this is…. So they should do a lot of research and possibly even have baby first aid before doing this…

@@whynotread394if food is modified (cut up) properly, the choking hazard is the same as purées/with a parent feeding. Nothing wrong with Teaching a baby how to eat properly at a young age
