- Multiversus just released a new trailer announcement with news that it is going to be releasing soon with new gameplay, updates and add ons in 2024. Multiversus launching with all new characters in the game is something for the community to be excited about. Combined with their Multiversus McDonald's collab it's safe to say the game is set up for a great revival after dying. This is How Multiversus Dying Actually Revived the Game

To be honest, i dont care whats wrong with the game as long as i dont have to play brawlhalla
What's wrong with the game? Saying this as a person who has never played it before.
@@TinniestPlane22 it was kinda unbalanced
@@huhj304what’s unbalanced
@@rainsarge the game itself
Same, but for me it's because brawlhalla isn't my type of platform fighter
Tbh I think with a solid ranking system and consistent content multiverses can be a fighting that sticks
Agreed
And better netcode. It was atrocious, but the game felt so nice when it did work
i did not expect a valorant youtuber here-
This is a win coming from the best fade main NA.
Also less of a pay to win mechanic
I played multiversus religiously during the whole open beta with my friend and man we loved this game, we were so sad the game stopped but now that its coming back the hype is real
i was there when the game started with the twitch drops, i grinded so many streams to get it, and when i did i played that thing non stop, i got so good at the game that i maxed 4 characters, and whenever my friends played against me they had to balance the teams because my arya stark was too menacing, i REALLY hope i can get them back into it when the full game releases
@@Poisoned-Dreamer i hope so too for you man, i remember always being scared if i saw a arya stark because they were always cracked, cant wait for the game to return
i played the beta to sense it was made free to play i stopped playing cause of how grindy the game was at the time
@@adad87821 i agree that it was a grind but i didnt mind it too much because i just enjoyed every second i played it
I mained Garnet and I had a friend of mine who was working on getting better with Tom and Jerry but was a Superman main and it was insane the amount of combos we'd have bouncing people between the two of us because of the ground and air coverage the both of them had I'm so excited for it to be coming back I have friends that are really disappointed that the suicide squad came happened the way it did and so seeing joker come back in this way I think is a better final video game and performance for the both of them as opposed to the alternative
Multiversus is going to come back VERY STRONG. I feel it… with a much bigger development team, budget, and PFG knowing what they have to do right this time. I can not wait to see all the new characters and polished game overall!
Wonderful video 👍🏻
We hope so! And thank you!
The best part about it: it's absolutely NOT copium!
@@godlygarbage4371 Im not very optimistical tbh given the recent state of the gaming industry of releasing unfinished products and then fix l8r on cuz of all of the corrupted greedsies and whatnot but hopefully im wrong i also just really wanna try this game out since i didnt have a chance the 1° time in a row, and i also need to fix my PC asap. 😭
I doubt it lol
When does it come back
The big problem was the Netcode. It made the game awful to play when you'd feel so accomplished hitting huge ass combos just to find out your version was wrong and in reality you just got hit for 60% by the opponent. The rubberbanding was awful. You'd often find yourself teleporting into the blast zone when on your screen you were still very much on stage literally milliseconds before. It was awful.
Just trying to do a combo on someone felt very odd, not smooth at all
damn i barely ever lagged
@@brandonfitzgerald1547 west coast had perfect servers, east coast was bad. Then when player based thinned out east coast vs west coast happened way to often and if was basically guaranteed loss for east coast.
Never had this problem the netcode to me was good af
I stopped watching documentaries like these a while ago so I was surprised that this was on my recommended really nice video literally about to watch another
Glad you enjoyed it! Hope you enjoy the other ones too 🫡
stop flashbanging me pls
I think a big part of Multiversus was the modding scene and how thousands (probably) of players left as soon as WB requested that no more mods should be made.
Classic WB L
I dont think that had any to do with it. It just slowly died and they didn't deliever enough content to keep ppl enganged. They did eventually add more but it was way to late at that point. But i doubt ppl wouldn't try it again when it releases for real this time. The beta was fun for most people.
It needs none 😂
aint nobody left after the "modding scene" died 🤣🤣 goofy ahh
6:19 Why are you looking at sales numbers for a free to play game?
So... wait... where do you explain how MultiVersus dying accidently saved the game?
This is probably the most underrated content creator I've ever watched. The editing is on point, and the way you word everything is perfect. Great work man, keep going.
Thank you! Will do

The best thing about multiverses is it being focused on 2v2. A fighting game with friends is a dream.
Also kind of the worst thing when thats all you could play

As a top 3 steven player until the game shut down this was a great video it spoke the truth and you didn't hate on the game you just said it was flawed and i cant wait until MVS comes back to thrive again good video bro. #Multiversus
Thanks! Good luck in your future climb 🫡
Don’t fall for these desperate youtubers asking “do you remember Multiversus?” It hasn’t even been that long
You didn't mention that multiversus was the biggest selling game of july 2022 reported by NPD (not biggest amount of downloads, but revenue from micro-transactions and founders packs). So it was actually very successful at launch, it just didn't carry that through. I also suspect the planned the shutdown/overhaul back in or before November when the last character came out but just didn't announce it til march.
The game didn't die though, it just ended its beta, lol. It has yet to actually start. That's the funny thing alot of people forget.
Yup, its toxic but I cant help but default to ppl truly who think it died must be stupid
Before the shutdown the game was on a clear downward trajectory, losing most of its hype and the meta was wack
The game was definitely not in a good spot after Rick n Morty. Black Adam got delayed to late oct meaning there had been no new character since mid September, rick came two months after Morty etc. (disappointed a lot of ppl since the only content was characters) and you damn near heard nothing when Marvin came out bc nobody was paying attention to the game atp. Ranked also disappointed.
@@ceeb830 that's cuz they planned to shut it down lol
@@SliferStreamingno they didn't. There's a written statement from tony at its release where they said there were no plans to shut it down lol. It was more of an early access than it was a beta.
Multiversus > Brawlhalla
As a Brawlhalla player I absolutely agree. Specially bc I play on brasil servers and they suck so bad
Smash bros solos!
@@Jujubeetrootsgood for u
Nah they're both awesome

This is the kind of video Id expect from a page with a couple hundred thousand subs, Im sure youll be there soon.
Great vid man. Hopefully it's return bangs 😭
Im glad i will finally be able to play it, cuz i didn't even know about the game till after the early access ended
so excited for its comeback was always so cool being able to climb to be one of the top players on any given character personally a harley quinn main ( top 10k range)
I played Harley myself and had a lot of fun with her. Top 10k is impressive, good work!

I hope it will come back strong, I bought an expensive beta-exclusive pack thinking the game would blow up wich is why I was disappointed when everyone forgot about it. Cool Video!
Multiversus did something smart. And that was timing. While we're in a bit of a content drought, seeking for something new, multiversus will take on the mantle for everyone to try.
Also where can I find the sound effects you use in your videos they are fantastic
I bought the game when it was first announced, I actually liked the concept of a new fighting game featuring cartoon characters. After I stopped playing the game for a few months I wanted to get back and see if there is anything new only to discover it was gone. Glad to see it was only temporary, this game has potential.
BTW, amazing video man, keep it up, I was surprised to see you only have 1k subscribers.
High level video. Keep pushing! You got my support.
We appreciate it!
First of all beautiful video, and wonderfully edited not excessive and clunky, just clean. I've always said that Multiversus is so impressive because it achieved so much in a relatively short time, like winning The Game Award for Best Fighting Game in 2022 in OPEN BETA like what. It united so many iconic characters in the Cartoon Network/Warner Bros universe and did it whilst embracing the memes. If this game could do that much in a beta-launch, the actual is gonna be crazy, with the new netcode, the new unreal engine and the pve mode.
Thank you so much and well said!
Very good editing, you’re definitely going to blow up
I want this game on switch so badly, I can not only just be competitive at smash but also this game!!!
Absolutely 🔥
This channel deserves so much more subs, though im sure they'll blow up because of their good content.
Wow this video was so high quality! You deserve way more subs🗿
Thank you so much!
Seems a lot of the companies feel games either need to be 60 - 70 dollars or free to play. Sometimes you get the 40 dollar ones which is sort of the middle ground but if greedy companies like WB are worried about money so much why not charge like 20 bucks. That way you’re not charging a crazy amount so people will still buy it and if even half of the initial player base still came which would be 10 million instead of the leak 20, well at 20 dollars a person do that math. Everyone is happy. So that way gamers aren’t paying crazy money for a game and the companies aren’t relying solely on micro transactions.
Great point, personally we wouldn’t mind paying $20 for multiverses if it meant we got more content out of it
@@Sprono_ yeah Man I would gladly pay 20 to make sure WB lets the company maintain updates without considering it dead from lack of micro transactions.
It’s an inflated value problem, also the APPLE problem
If they made a game that cheap at this point it’ll be a massive gamble to see if it’ll gain attention, due to it being lower value by money it’ll be less attractive on the market.
Just like there are much better computers that apple devices ut since it already has an inflated value, cheaper money products are seen as less desirable, simply for the fact they are cheaper and not carrying apples name.
Now making it cheap may just work, but no company would want to roll that dice, so they would make it free to play instead, so it’s attracting an actual market of its own
Bro literally never explained how the game dying saved it. He just said it might get better.
People don't understand what the word "Beta" means
No hate at all but can you please use more than 3 sound effects on loop. It does get annoying.
Yeah i think they were updating the game slow because the team was busy recreating the entire game on unreal 5 💀
I've been waiting for this game to come back! I'm super excited!
8:03 I cant tell if youre joking or not but that is one of marvin the martian's inventions from the cartoons, not a game engine or something lol
Wow, this editing, audio work, and the overall script are fantastic for a channel this small! Keep it up, and you’ll be going somewhere soon 🙏
Thanks a ton!
Just subbed cant wait for more vids
thank you!
8:00 You said March!
bro had one job 7:57
I tried to like it, but the gameplay always felt slippery and unresponsive to me, it's nowhere near as snappy as Smash Bros, and the aggressive monetization was a big turn off.
the RT screen effect gave me a fit, as a result i have no idea what any of the words on the screen say
8:02 the space modulator thing was obviously a joke
Coming back frm the future you were right and I’m hyped asf
i still play this game from time to time with my little brother
I think MVS’s comeback is gonna be huge, especially now with the Joker officially confirmed. That tweet alone has 3 million views 🔥
You said march 28th.
It's actually MAY 28th.
i cant wait for it to come back. only a few months
You’re almost there, keep grinding my boy💪🏿
Thanks 💪
Yeah it was weird. I'm a big smash guy and I was surprised that my mostly shooter friend got into it as much as he did. And we both kind of just randomly dropped it and never brought it up again before they even added new characters. We didn't think about it again until after it had shut down for the time
You have to remember it was also a open beta not completed
I never understood why they just stopped adding content, it was so confusing, after marvin came out i was hyped for joker and Beatle juice, characters that where already leaked, and all but confirmed
Instead post marvin all we got was a single map, for lebron james, i really hope they push content at a good rate
I don’t people remember that it was an OPEN BETA it was mostly testing to see what bugs came up and how the audience reacted
wait this is rob i just realised
i was just randomly scrollin thru YT and stumbled upon his voice in an unkown channel wtf
yo rob!
Tbh, I don’t think we ever forgot about this game. We just acknowledged the problems and moved on accordingly when they shut it down 🤷🏽♂️
I had a uniquely frustrating experience with Multiversus, Me and my cousin tried to play it at launch but due to some account authorisation issues I now forget the specifics of, my time with the game ended before it had even begun as I was never able to actually use a WB account and play the game.
Is the start of the video league of legends on a controller?
I love Multiversus and wish it all the best for its final release. This is probably the weirdest commercial campaign I've ever seen, but as long as it works, I'm fine with it. Just hoping it will come back stronger, more solid, with more characters releases and shorter seasons.
Are you rob, that cracked yoru main?
I’m so excited for Multiversus return!!!!!!
As a Steven universe main this is great
I love your editing but can you please slow down with the bright flashes?
The game is coming back and they seem to have fixed what they need to fix. I could see your point, but at the same time is always the way to come back not all the time but they seem to have it.
Not many games get a second chance, so this game better not squander it.
I think you're wrong about it not making a lot of money. It seems the reason they stopped updating the game is because they were already in process of switching to unreal engine 5 and knew they would have to end the beta and start from scratch. The fact they switched engines like that and got such a drastic change so quickly is because of it's great success and potential and warner brothers saw that and likely offered them assistance to upgrade everything and do better. WB is desperate for a live service game that sticks so I wouldn't be surprised after seeing it's initial great success they decided to invest even further into the game to make it really good.
“But first, let’s go back to 2022…”
The screen: 2020
“They announced the official release for march 28th”
The post: “may 28th”
My guy… common🤣
Also subbed!
I remember I bought the game just as it released on PlayStation and had no idea about this game before and I played it so much with my siblings and was absolutely broken when I saw that it had been cancelled and deleted I stopped playing the game for a while but didn't know during that time the game as been cancelled and deleted
The game was handled so poorly. Devs up and disappeared with no notice then came back to shut the game down. Now, their new announcement of coming back doesn't show anything new. It's like they're trying to make the game fail. How there's still good faith towards them, idk
As a top 100 player with 1500 hours I need this to come back
These are some of the highest quality vids I’ve seen in a while how do you only have 400 subs?
Thanks! Road to 1k subs ☄️
I loved this game and I’m waiting on it to come back for my birthday this year. Also I spent $20 on it so I need that game back
Dude, love the channel, the way your content is it feels like a channel with 990k subscribers or something but when I peeped at your subscribers, it only said 900! You deserve much more for only 6 videos in, love the content bro
thanks so much! we're doing our best :)
Good video, you have a bright future ahead of you. Here are just some of a few criticisms I had for the video, feel free to disregard:
2:50 , your comparison to Elden Ring doesn't really paint the picture on how successful 20 million sales in a month is. You already explained why this isn't the best comparison (Elden Ring is $60). Instead, you could have made a comparison to something like Fortnite, which only had 1 million players in its first month, taking a year to reach 30 million.
3:20 , you say that Multiversus was in the fourth place, ahead of Apex Legends and Rust. It was behind Apex Legends and Rust.
3:40 , Again, comparisons to Triple A priced-games doesn't really do the comparison justice. Not to mention, Warner Bros. games aren't really expected to garner large concurrent player numbers because they are primarily offline, story-driven games. The metric of sales is more telling of a games success. (Although you make a good point with Mortal Kombat having far fewer players).
5:05 , you say that the last character added to the game was Marvin, but then you make your point that no new characters were added for four full months after that. I wonder why you specified four months, when there has been no characters released at all after him. Just odd wording. It probably would have been a better point to point out that character releases came to a sudden halt after four months of constant releases.
6:20 , in-game purchases do not contribute to a game's placing on the "top 20 best selling games of 2022". You're probably right that they didn't sell well, but this is misleading. The list of games you showed are all games that cost money and therefore have a sales number associated. Multiversus would never be on that list even if they sold billions of dollars.
6:35 , I like the editing, but the red highlights make it impossible to read the text.
6:55 , The beta was planned to stop, as all betas are meant to (not all do). This decision didn't really shock anyone.
7:10 , I doubt anyone thought that the closing of the beta was the end. It is a beta after all, we should expect the game to fully release in the future.
7:50 , Players didn't hope that they could keep the skins they bought. You showed a screenshot confirming that players would have their content purchased or earned will carry over to the full release.
8:00 , you made an error saying that the made the announcement on March 28. They made this announcement on March 11. The text on screen shows the release date set for May 28, so you probably just read it and worded it wrong.
8:03 , The Illudium Q-36 Explosive Space Modulator was a reference to Marvin the Martian, who was already released as you mentioned in the video. This was regarding his release for season 2 of Multiversus. This had nothing to do with the release of the full game. You can read this from the screenshot that you showed while you were talking about it, so I don't know how you missed it.
My main complaint is that you didn't address the title of your video. How exactly does it "dying" save the game? How was it "accidental"? We don't even know if the game is saved yet because it isn't even out yet. I understand the need to have catchy titles for a youtube video, but it just seemed like you forgot what the purpose of the video was actually supposed to be. It is also possible that you just chose a misleading title for the video. I wish you touched on some of the reasons that were more likely to have been the cause of the game "dying". Namely, the gameplay of Multiversus was very polarizing (especially for Smash players). Many influencers complained that the game was too slow and floaty. You could have mentioned the bizarre monetization model that they employed. You also could have touched on how the 2v2 format of the game made it harder to find balanced matches. I'm liking the production and editing, I just feel like your direction could use a little more focus. I'll subscribe and look forward to your future uploads!
Thank you for the feedback! Our next video is already being wrapped up but we will take your words into consideration on future vids 🫡
I agree. Comparing multiverses to an expensive game like Elden ring is meaningless. And same with 6:20. For 6:35 I would recommend lighter orange or brighter green highlighting. And the title is confusing and the ending is abrupt and doesn’t even answer if the game is actually saved yet.
The character choices are quite odd though, you have to admit.
The reason the game fell off was the addition of too many projectile characters that are so annoying to play around and over nerfing Batman because after Batman’s second nerf the whole cast could play around him. I feel lil second patch Batman was amazing as a shaggy main. I saw a lot of character diversity coming from the 1v1 scene of the game though.
its important to point out that there was also a way to get into the beta without paying trought twitch drops
It didnt even die, they just were in open beta and closed to finish
Good thumbnail change the last one was too visually cluttering, your video editing is really well keep at it youll grow for sure!
Yea we thought so too! Thank you 🙏
Interesting who’s we? 👀
Multiversus had potential, and it still somewhat does, but them shutting down the game at all really hurt them. especially with the people that paid for the more expensive versions.
I think they only made the fight for its popularity and sticking power to be a much, much bigger and steeper mountain to climb.
Aside from updates with characters and maps, they would need to change a number of things. I couldn't even tell you what, now since I haven't touched the game in way too long, but that feeling of not being given enough really sticks and is what I feel when I think about the game.
150 thousand for a fighting game is insane
I can’t wait for the release of this game!
And now a month later we have Jason Vorhees and Joker In the game and much more news coming before the full release
I played as soon as it came out and now I guess imma start playing again. It’s literally on a McDonald bag 🤣
i really liked this game and i was excited when i heard it's coming back, but i worry that it's gonna make the same mistake again. AND also making the game look polished, because the "beta" had a really simple unpolished look.
They did say they were upgrading the engine, but the true test will be when the game releases
My biggest problem was the shared team lives. No opportunity to clutch up, or to 1v1. If they remove that the game is already 10 times better.
My biggest gripe was players not doing 2v2 if I wanted to do 1v1 there’s games better at that
Honestly one of my biggest problems with it was the grind. The game felt impossible to keep up with when characters were being released especially cuz you didn't even start eith the base roster unlocked. I really hope the full release rethinks about chargeing for characters because nothing feels worse then getting stonped by a character you don't even have access to
Agreed, it also gives it a pay to win feel
I really do hope it fixed its biggest issues like the netcode cause theres some characters I really would like to play in a fighting game setting from warner bros...
I just hope it comes with servers in other regions
fresh take of 2v2 gameplay like brawlhalla doesnt exsit
Brawlhalla released in 2014, it's stale at this point
I won't return to Multiversus until Team Attack is added and they have individual lives options instead of shared team lives.
They'd also have to actually release in Asia. Just cause I wanna play it :(
The reason I stopped playing multiverses was because it took them so long to put in ranked and when they put it in I completely forgot that the game existed
That was our reason too, the game should be launching with ranked thankfully
