Who else fast forwarded , then went back to watch the build?
Epic flames on the deck Karl!
Can't wait to see it in real life 🎉
So close to the finish line! The shop rod throwing flames on the deck was epic. Pleasure to see the pure joy you experienced at hitting this milestone. Road trip will be one for the books!
Hinge the doors in the front and have them just swing open and completely out of the way, no ducking or standing over them. And as a bonus hinging the front will force them closed at speed if for some reason the latch gets left opened.
You'd end up parking 8ft away from everything just to open the doors though...
@@marca5883meh, he’s building it really to haul junk cars back & forth. Which are usually in fields, not in tight downtown alleys.
@@michael-michaelmotorcycle or at car shows???
Or have the hinges orientated in the same direction so that you can slide the doors off when they are open then they'll be out of the way. You can prevent them from sliding back and forth when closed by using seals to centre them. Would keep dirt out.
@@marca5883😂 no scratches
wow, You Ellio and Brent (and others) make it look so easy to fabricate - learning lots and gaining lots of inspiration between Make it Kustom & HalfassKustoms
Everyone needs an Elio. He's the chill quiet friend and is always their to lend a helping hand, and lets not forget his fantastic hair.
At first I wasn't as excited about the Coe Ramp Truck as the old Zephyr, the other cars as well as machines. What I really enjoy though is seeing you work and that you share your skill and insights. I love that you even take time to demonstrate techniques on scrap material. Lately at times I feel like I'm never gonna remember half of what I learned. I guess I'll be going back through old videos from time to time. I think your a great teacher Karl. Again I say good job on everything. This Coe is gonna be a game changer for ya I know!😎💣💥👌👍👊💪🤙
Hi Carl, when you commented on the safety bungee for the ramps it brought back memories. A friend lent me a tandem trailer so I could go grab a tractor, some 1000 miles away. On the way down a ramp holder weld broke so out went the ramp and I was unaware. I checked everything at the fuel stop and noticed that loss. I back tracked but never found it so it may have bounced off the asphalt onto the road verge but I couldn’t find it. On a busier road that could have been disasterous. It’s also good to see the kid is still in you, keep that sense of fun alive. Ooroo to the great fab team.
I hire a car trailer once the ramps were chained to the trailer, somehow they both came out, I didn't notice for a while as it was pelting down rain, 😂 but I was wondering why it was tracking better after hitting a couple of bumps, someone flashes me and pulled me over and told me 😂, great truck, thanks for sharing, all the best to yous and your loved ones
Screw a piece of zink anode somewhere inside the framing of the truck bed to keep the aluminum plate from developing electrolysis between the aluminum and steel. That’s what boats do to fight electrolysis. I have a aluminum bed on my service truck and it works great 🤙🏼🇺🇸😎
Should that read zinc anode?
@@chrisnorris532 thanks I corrected the typo🙏🏼
That little Sunny pickup was definitely for the backroads.....for sure. Very cool little truck. Have watched Brent's video of this same day already. Interesting to see the different views of the work being done. Some great work by all involved. You don't know when the ramps fall off, but you do when the cops pull over 1/2 hour later and give you a big ticket and then you get a call from your insurance company because the guy who drove over them wants his car fixed. Trust me, been there done that. Expensive mistake. Picking up a car for a buddy with my trailer and his truck. Guy following us got the trailer plate so I got the ticket and the call about my insurance. Great way to christen the deck being done, flames and all. Look forward to more. Be safe and stay well.
That truck is killer. And with the rod on top it’s perfect. We got the shirts just in time for the weekend Lewis loves his new hoody. The boys are happy. Thanks a bunch. Take care all the very best. Tim.
Maybe install a brake light switch on that loading ramp cover plate to a light on the dash to give you a heads up it's still open.
For the door over the ramps, I would put a switch on the door that lights a light on the dash letting you know the door is open.
The flames were cool. I would have thought you would have made wider ramps, but they work. Nice of Brent to come help you.
Great to see you and your buds bring this vision home!!
Awesome build 😎👍
My god...what a herculean undertaking! Just amazing to see all the incredible work coming together! She's a beast and the truck riding on the back, shooting flames was just perfect! Go Karl and Elio and Brent, Go Japhands and Halfass, keep moving forward!
Another great project !
Its not outside the box. It so far out its a circle... LOL
Looking boys ! Thanks for dragging us along Karl !
The ramp truck is an absolute work of art. The whole crew should be proud!
Nice work Karl, What a great build, loving it. So cool. Well done to to all the folks who have helped along the way, Can't wait for the road trip video.. Cheers Rich,
Thanks For Sharing Karl And Co. Cool Truck Man 🤠🧂
Man that Elio, Brent, and Karl. Thanks to all it is great.
That looks awesome 👍🏻.. thought for you.. the side pod doors, hinged at the top so they lift up rather than drop open, using trunk gas struts and also they could be used as a work area once lifted
Everyone needs a Brent in their life.
So very cool to see it so close to done, and with car on the back!! Team work!
You have me grinning from ear to ear. I'm loving it !!!!
Most people would destroy that wheel well but the fact that you have experience is what makes it possible
Clean work!!!!
You guys are the bomb Bro !!!!
Karl and friends. You did awesome job .that thing is a beauty
You and Brent have worked hard on the ramp truck. Really looks great ! Thank you for sharing. 💯👍👊
A trick I learnt when I worked in a Fruehauf plant making tanker trucks is putting parcel tape between aluminium and steel to prevent electrolytic corrosion, I have used this or similar tape ever since.
That unit is sick as it is slick! It’s as much a show truck as a go truck. Well done.
That Sunny Unibody is too cool! As soon as I saw the front end i thought "That's a 1200"! I drove a 1200 fastback all through high School. My brother still has it. Love Those Cars! That ruck though is too much!
They are called Datsun 1200 in Australia. We call them utes (utility) , not sure where Carl got uni body pickup from
Oh I cant wait to see those side panels blue like the cab with some tastey airbrushing on them.
Nice job on the build. I wish you had mounted those sheets on the sides … inside of the frame
I got a obs excab ramp truck. I luv it. But I would totally take this monster any day of the week. BADASS is all I can say. LUV IT!!
That Datsun pickup was nice👌 had to laugh at the dudes white socks though😂🤣😂
Make a few custom bins/boxes that fit between the rungs on those ramps to store bungies, chains, shackles etc
Lots of work in that deck, looks excellent. My only concern I have with the storage box doors. What is the advantage of having drawbridge doors to swing open style, I’m can see the biggest disadvantage; stepping on door, grinding into the gravel, But each to their own. That is the coolest one on the road. Well done👍👍
Drawbridge doors you'll be further away from the storage making it harder to get out what you need, possibly injuring oneself.
With the length of the doors it means you'd need a lot more room on the sides to fully open the doors. That could limit the areas the truck would be used in. An advantage to drop down doors would be that they could be used as ramps , if they are properly built, to wheel heavy objects into the compartments.
@@kennethstaszak9990 of course the door would be split.
Amazing effort and results. And inspiring. I learn more every time I watch.
Karl, I use paint paddles between my sheetmetal and vice grips to prevent the denting and scarring. Truck is looking incredible!
Looks great together! Nice job.
LOOKS GREAT WELL DONE. 😊😊😊😊
Awesome work between you and Brent. I’m kinda surprised you didn’t add a hideaway 5th wheel hitch ball in the bed for future purposes lol
AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME! Great progress on a great ramp truck!
Wow, that was cool as hell. Now, go down to the truck 🚛 stop and look at the Flat-bed tractor trailers. Look at the flat bars that the straps hook on to.❤
That „deck dance“ 36:48 ! Cracked me up already in Brents video. 😂
May I say you screwed it…. 😅
Sunnys are the goal for me. I am building my own 2011 Aveo ute right now.
Have to admire your energy. When you opened the door of the Dodge with flames shooting out I thought you were going to break out the sausages on a stick.
Also love the Datsun 1200 ute, those little motors are bulletproof. I used to get a 1500 short block and bolt on a 1200 head, quick and cheap hot up!
Very very nice job on that truck. Safe travels.
Too cool guys! Great job and thanks again for sharing!
Great job, thanks for sharing!
Thanks for sharing 😀👍
Everything coming together so well. Love the videos. Keep me it up! Aloha🤙🏼
The truck really is looking good 👍👍
man has skills! enjoying the build.
Very nice Job Boys Hey Karl you should Drop a PiN through the ramps for safety Looks Great
Awesome job!
Your truck looks fantastic on top of your truck!
Absolutely love it!
So Wicked!! Lots of work! Awesome!!
Contact you commercial that just ran. Decked that make draws you can put in your boxes. Maybe they can help you out. This was an awesome build it looks great!
Oliver's Datsun was very cool.
Are you going to add a winch? It is looking fabulous. Nice watching your design process.
Great work !!!
That was monumental. Love that hot rod and it looks so good on that ramp truck.
Looking great!
nice !.. rhanks.thanks..
..Black Art Forge..
Sweet, nice work Y'all ...
Very nice Karl!
From _Mean Machine_ to _Dream Machine!_ ~ _AWESOME!_
Looks like a fun build....The Datsun truck was Sweet....flame show was awesome 👌
If you mount a backup camera below the ramp door you'll always know when it's open outstanding build so far.
Karl that thing is soo freaking cool with your Dodge loaded breathing fire!
Truly one of a kind Bad ass rides!
Make it kustoms = Maker and Suplier of Phukin Cool Shit!! 😎
Good Job Karl ,,,, you're the King of custode
Really have enjoyed seeing the trash on the ramp truck! It looks awesome!
Great job 👏 congrats
Imagine if you could get the truck to spit fire as well... Both shooting flames whilst doing a double burnout. I don't know if it's possible but I can dream. lmao
I'm in Yokosuka, Japan for work right now. There is one of those Datsuns running around town here, has been for years now. I really want one of those! Cool little car.
Looks good!
That is a cool truck! I've enjoyed watching this one come together!
AWESOME JOB!!!...
I also would put a turn signal in middle of bed even if they don`t require it i would still put them in, I`ve built a lot of truck beds Jack
Awesome build!
lookin awesome Carl
In addition to the bungee cord, you could always put a switch under the ramp flap to a light on the dash that lights up when the ramp door is open.
Personally I would have put the hinges on the rear post so the door swings back and covers the wheel opening, in case you have something heavy to load in the storage compartment and won't have the door in the way.
Splendid
When you say metal shaping station, I assume what you meant to say was mini bike storage garage. That door folding down makes it perfect for rolling mini bikes in there to store under the bed.
one of those fender lip rollers would have made that roll over for the wheel well so much easier on ya as i said on brents channel the weld spots made the doors look like battleship plates before being ground off perhaps some loovers on the cover plate over the engine ? to help with cooling
Looks awsome Karl 😎
The ramp truck needs its own flamethrower or it’ll get jealous :D
I have watched this build from the beginning with excitement and admiration! Pleeeease tell me why u didnt paint all the bare metal????????
BAD ASS!!!
Great build
Should've made the large front doors..."Barn doors" it's going to be a pain trying to step/reach over them when they're open.
Karl, Are you planning to put any kind of a weep hole, like in a car door on the lower flanges of your of the rear wheel opening for water and crud to drain out and help from rotting away after all your hard work to make it look good....?
I wonder if you could fab up some cold air intakes on the front corners of the ramp deck to help with the cooling…..
I think you should have made the doors to open to the side. With the door swing down it is always going to be in the way loading and unloading things in the box.
That's freakin cool man
"I don't know it's your wheels" Best answer ever.
So I take it you want the steel to rust for the patina? I'd wash it and blow some Tremclad on it. If you were here I have a gallon of tremclad galvanized primer and 4 gallons of black I'd donate .I have a friend at our land fill in the hazardous waste collection deparment who saves all kinds of stuff for me. high build, primer, thinners, varsol, tube grease,Tremclad paint, bondo, muriadic acid, stain ,spray adhesive, acetone all new almost full cans ,it's crazy every week Iget 300$ in materials. What do they do with stuff like this out west? Nice truck man, killer set up.
