It's stupid because Dinosaurs are animals that lived in a much more dangerous time (meaning they are much more dangerous than any other living animals today), and it's much easier to secure a little island off the Pacific than the entire Sub-Saharan Africa. Any moron who wants to poach in Isla Sorna will either be devoured by the dinosaurs or easily arrested by security.
Hearing all of this is very chilling. The fact that poachers would use the island for their own gain is sickening. And you're right in what would still survive, the smaller dinos but I have a sneaking suspicion that the Spinosaurus could still live given it's behaviour and new meals coming to the island.
Catch me in the brush with an HK417 assaulter recce rifle and a camouflaging raptor hunting down poachers. Sounds like a good time. Honestly I feel like a good standalone JP movie would be a rescue mission to an island goes awry with poachers who are on the island and it’s like a fight between man vs man vs Dino. It would make sense in the long run, that small animals as well as flyers would ultimately prevail on the islands. I guess the Spinosaurus could have survived off of fish, but it's practically extinct as its assumed to be the only clone of its species.
I wish they left the Sorna-dinosaurs alone and keep their "happily-ever-after" from the Lost World. I'm still hoping that the tragedy was only a false-rumor created to keep the poachers away.
I still personally think the (jp3) pteranodons on sorna are still alive there in the dome, just barely making a living. But the poachers busted through for some @$$ and they got loose
Really cool, and informative video. :) Personally, I'd bet on the Compies, and possibly the highly organized raptor tribe of JP3 to have somehow survived.
The idea of the poachers could make for a great idea for JW 3 or for a spin off series. I would love to see that some of the Site B raptors or even the Spino being held by some nefarious villain or even some species being taken of the island, only for them to get loose in Costa Rica, hiding within the jungles for years. Perhaps a small tribe of raptors or some Dilo's
Dominion directly disproved the notion Sorna was dead since they showed us Buck and Doe in the valley that canonically holds dinosaurs either cloned by Biosyn, taken in from the escapees/sold off ones such as Rexy, and some Sorna dinosaurs. But they only started doing this after Lockwood Manor incident began so after 2018, therefore Sorna is not dead.I believe that the problem was when Masrani went to Sorna he realised that there were too many dinosaurs to capture, the island was too big and dangerous to be reliably used, and that the predators were far too dangerous such as the velociraptors as according to canon, only one raptor was brought to Nublar from Sorna for Jurassic world construction before 2005, and then after realising that the predatory dinosaurs such as the raptors were too wild and unpredictable, decided to clone new raptors and have them be raised by a person to be less dangerous to their handlers. So Sorna was left alone and covered up, Claire and the other workers were kept in the dark and fed the lies that it was empty, and only some were taken from Sorna partially to bolster the claim of the island having undergone a massive crash and that these were the last few ones. This is why the world seems to believe Sorna is dead and never make any suggestions to take dinosaurs to Sorna or that Sorna may still have some.
I think this is another stellar instance of what Malcolm was referencing when he said that dinosaurs need to stay extinct. Take away the hunting and there's still the Spino and the raptors that are over hunting and the DX virus (not the one's in JP 3 because they had ranks as opposed to the one's in the lost world).
As I recall one of the early trailers for Fallen Kingdom suggested that the volcanic event would take out the whole island chain, including Sorna. I'm all for seeing more on sorna just to find out what happened to the Spinosaur but I had thought the whole chain went up.
compies survived for sure, I kind of doubt things like Tyrannosaurs and the Spinosaurus would still be around though, they would be the big money specimens. Here's hoping JW3 gives us some concrete closure.
I really like the fact that the franchise touches on the issue that is pouching. Killing animals for fun is one of the most ridiculous and pathetic things humans do, and I'd really love to see the Jurassic movies (or any other media) talking about that subject in a pedagogical, sympathetic way.
Im currently reading the books for the first time and whenever you bring them up, I have to close the video😅its a little stupid on my part as I cant stay away from Klayton's videos for very long
You missed the poaching notes in Evolution of Claire that mention the people trying to poach them would eventually succeed if they hadn't already, it was one of the reasons why Masrani was allowed to open Jurassic World.
I feel like only compys and the most elusive, fastest and smartest animals could survive like raptors and gally's. Also glad to hear that the...um..... medicine you got from that market in DangerVille hasn't given you any side effects, or do you have a 3 headed scaly draconic problem growing somewhere?
At around 1:04-1:07 part of the video when Klayton said that the dinosaurs had a wonderfully bizzare fairytale ending where Jurassic and Cretaceous era dinosaurs live in the same ecosystem made me realize something. Has and will the Jurassic Park franchise deliberately ignore the Triassic era when it comes to the dinosaurs from that time period? Just a random thought.
Kinda undermines the whole "Dinos make good weapons" theme of the new films. It also makes little sense considering nearly a hundred heavily armed men in TLW failed abysmally in hunts after their heavy vehicles were destroyed. To quote Mauler, "They would be shit in a war"
I can see the Spino being a big game prize as a legendarely lethal super predator after entire hunting parties where killed in the attempt to take him down
I've never seen/read a reason why the dinosaurs on Sorna died, besides in the novels. In the movies I dont see why Site B or C couldnt still have dinosaurs. The big ones might easilly be made extinct again on Sorna but the littler and more intelligent ones might survive. I have also felt that maybe not all of the dinos left on Nublar necessarily died. I'm not suggesting they are still on the isle. It is unlikely but not impossible that some dinos could have swam to another island. Rats can swim for 3 days. Why couldn't a huge super strong, buoyant dinosaur do so as well? It would definitely swim faster than a rat. And life does find a way......
I've never been of the opinion that all the dinosaurs on Isla Sorna are dead. Unless they wanna bring out the DX Virus again something would survive. As you pointed out the compys would easily still be around. I'd guess some of the smaller herbivores and at least a handful of raptors would still be around. It's also very possible that some dinosaurs made their way to other islands in the Muertes Archipelago.
I personally think that the Spinosaurus survived the chaos effect virus and everything that went down there. Just a hunch. Spinosaurs are piscivores after all, so maybe it could have survived solely off of fish. It’s not canon so it can’t be taken entirely seriously, but when you go to visit Sorna in JW Evolution, the Spinosaurus is alive along with a small group of stegosaurs. I think it’d be awesome if somehow the key to fixing the “dino crisis” (pun intended) going on in the mainland is located on Sorna in JW3. Who knows, though.
I'm betting the big "trophy" species were hunted down first, but if modern bears and birds can move between close knit islands, it wouldn't surprise me if a strong Spinosaurus might have made a trip to find new hunting grounds and avoid competition on some of the other islands.
New headcanon: a sizeable chunk of the bidders of the dino-auction in Fallen Kingdom originally hired those who attempted to poach from Site B. Also, I'd say the carnivores were less likely to survive...Especially the big ones who need a large sustainable food source like the Spino...
I would think Compies would have survived if Isla Sorna has been overrun with poachers. A lot of us are still curious about Isla Sorna's fate whether it's still thriving with life or completely abandoned.
i think personally that most of the large meat eaters past on and only a few medium to small ones survive along with alot of the plant eaters like i belive the dilophosauras, metriacanthesauras, spino, compy, ceratosauras, suchominus, proceratosauras
I'm pretty sure the compys survived. They're basically like the rats of Isla Sorna. In fact, I'm pretty sure they may have wiped out any rats on Isla Sorna. They're tiny scavengers who can subsist on insects, no way they were all wiped out, barring some sort of plague. And given that they're scavengers, it would have to be a pretty serious disease to harm them.
It's crazy that InGen knew something like this would happen to their dinosaurs, but luckily for them, they decide to save them from extinction, this time, from man's own hand.
Personally, I say you could create an *entire story* (set in the "Jurassic" universe, of course) revolving around illegal dinosaur hunting/poaching. I'm kind of surprised it hasn't happened yet.
Species like a compy would have survived i believe, because they are small, if there aren’t too many, they could live of rats and other small mammals. They would be hard to hunt down because of their small size.
It is obvious that there are still Compys on the island, and I personally think that at least one tribe of raptors survived, as well as few Tyrannosaurs maybe. The Spino is just too aggressive and battle ready to have survived for very long. The hadrosaurs and Ceratopsians were likely impacted heavily by poachers and the outstanding number of predators though.
It would be cool if jw3 was on isla muerta, isla tacano, or any other island in Las Cinco Muertes. It would still be cool on the mainland, but I really want to see one of the other islands.
I know a TRex fell prey to Batman. Saw one in his Batcave in season 2 of Justice League lol Thats a scary hunter. N I dont mean the Tyrant Lizard King either xd
I think the only evidence that the Sorna dinosaurs were brought to Nublar came with Parasaurolophus and Compsognathus. Those two dinosaurs in JW films have the same coloration as the ones we saw in TLW. I would say Triceratops may be too, but their facial features just look slightly different I still think The Lost World should have wrapped up the franchise though. As Hammond and Ian said it, the dinosaurs should at least have been left alone. And if they extinct again, it's probably for the best. Nature chose them to extinct million years ago
Dino bounty hunting might be in jurassic world 3

The idea of the poachers could make for a great idea for JW 3 or for a spin off series. I would love to see that some of the Site B raptors or even the Spino being held by some nefarious villain or even some species being taken of the island, only for them to get loose in Costa Rica, hiding within the jungles for years. Perhaps a small tribe of raptors or some Dilo's
Good Video And I Love It Videos So Much
Dominion directly disproved the notion Sorna was dead since they showed us Buck and Doe in the valley that canonically holds dinosaurs either cloned by Biosyn, taken in from the escapees/sold off ones such as Rexy, and some Sorna dinosaurs.
I'm loving all these JP/JW vids. Kinda reignited the old childhood magic. Fallen Kingdom wasn't even half bad.
Interesting and cool video 😯🙂👍🦖🦕
compies survived for sure, I kind of doubt things like Tyrannosaurs and the Spinosaurus would still be around though, they would be the big money specimens. Here's hoping JW3 gives us some concrete closure.
Thank you so much for this information
I really like the fact that the franchise touches on the issue that is pouching. Killing animals for fun is one of the most ridiculous and pathetic things humans do, and I'd really love to see the Jurassic movies (or any other media) talking about that subject in a pedagogical, sympathetic way.
Im currently reading the books for the first time and whenever you bring them up, I have to close the video😅its a little stupid on my part as I cant stay away from Klayton's videos for very long
I’m surprised there hasn’t been a side story about a group of hunters on Isla Sorna. Would have been an interesting film. Or game, give or take.
Me: watching 100 of your videos a hour.
My homework:👁👄👁 you done yet honey?
I kinda like to think the bull T. Rex from The Lost World is currently in the hands of a private collector.
hey KLAYTON.
have you considered looking at "the evolution of claire"?
Kinda undermines the whole "Dinos make good weapons" theme of the new films. It also makes little sense considering nearly a hundred heavily armed men in TLW failed abysmally in hunts after their heavy vehicles were destroyed.
To quote Mauler, "They would be shit in a war"
I def think Raptors and compies survived... maybe some small herbivores too
I can see the Spino being a big game prize as a legendarely lethal super predator after entire hunting parties where killed in the attempt to take him down
"God creates dinosaurs
God destroys dinosaurs
God creates man
Man destroys God
Man creates dinosaurs"
Ian Malcom
Dinosaurs eat man
And the woman inherets

It’s nice to see Camp Cretaceous acknowledge this part of the Canon.
They did?

I would like to see the spinosaurus one more time in the final film. And also the dilophosaurus for sure.
I love videos like this.
Spino: Idk why everyone thinks Isla Sorna is a Dino graveyard. I'm just over here on Site B, chilling and playing chess with the Raptor Crew. 🍺
That's just...wow
Dinosaur poaching on Isla Sorna was also briefly discussed in The Evolution of Claire!
Those little compies man. They definitely survived. Little dino-rats.
I'm betting the big "trophy" species were hunted down first, but if modern bears and birds can move between close knit islands, it wouldn't surprise me if a strong Spinosaurus might have made a trip to find new hunting grounds and avoid competition on some of the other islands.
Gotta know that track you got playing at the start of the video
New headcanon: a sizeable chunk of the bidders of the dino-auction in Fallen Kingdom originally hired those who attempted to poach from Site B.
Also, I'd say the carnivores were less likely to survive...Especially the big ones who need a large sustainable food source like the Spino...
I have this feeling in the next film we will get to see site B
I had no idea something like this would actually happen in the Jurassic Park Franchise.
Saw one in his Batcave in season 2 of Justice League lol
Thats a scary hunter. N I dont mean the Tyrant Lizard King either xd
Maybe dinosaurs swam to the lesser islands and hide out there before going back to the bigger ones as part of some migration
I think the only evidence that the Sorna dinosaurs were brought to Nublar came with Parasaurolophus and Compsognathus. Those two dinosaurs in JW films have the same coloration as the ones we saw in TLW. I would say Triceratops may be too, but their facial features just look slightly different
I still think The Lost World should have wrapped up the franchise though. As Hammond and Ian said it, the dinosaurs should at least have been left alone. And if they extinct again, it's probably for the best. Nature chose them to extinct million years ago
