We desperately need to go back to Sorna at some point. It holds so much potential, I know I say this a lot but I think a prequel focusing on site b is one of the best options for this franchise right now.

I would like that I would also like possibly a movie with some undercover work because another Group/company doing genetic work illegally on an island but not the best scientist or equipment so they can make smaller dinosaurs accurate but the bigger they go like trying to make a T Rex most of them die off and the only one that lives is the two headed T-Rex that they were thinking about using at one point and they have a guy on the inside like Nick Vanowen going undercover to help Barry in Franklin Maybe the head bad guy that footing this research is the lady who trains the atrciraptors And we find out that that’s not what we need to worry about and just like the old Dino crisis games or the old science fiction dark tension and horror that we had from the original two Jurassic parks the UltraSaurus plus a TV/Netflix show that goes through all different times before during and after and in between the films that’s an anthology series hour long episodes five+ seasons and being an anthology series some episodes could be tension suspense some could be fast and furious action some could be straight up horror and some could be somewhat child friendly Uno baby dinosaurs but it would all tied together and tie to the movies maybe even some of the characters that were sidekicks from the movies could show up in certain episodes during certain timelines like Billy or Lex and Tim or the Kirbys maybe possibly even the Kirbys when the dinosaurs got loose on the mainland with an anthology series different styles characters and time is all possible that’s why I think it’s the best fit for the future of the Franchise

This theory kind of validates the Locust. BioSyn created the Locust to fund their other ventures like housing the dinosaurs and research of those creatures. By monopolizing the food/farming industry, the company could bring in the capital to continue doing research and make BioSyn look like the good guys by providing sanctuaries for the dinosaurs now loose all over the world.

In the original book (the very first one), the dinosaurs are already on the mainland at the very start before the main plot has even begun. The first 2 or 3 chapters are about "unkown creatures" that were attacking a young girl at the beach (The opening of 2nd film on the island orriginally took place on the mainland at the start of the first book) and a baby in a nursery that was killed. This highlights *one* issue I have with “Dominion,” and it’s this; I feel BioSyn wasn’t fully reintegrated well back into the wider saga story of the franchise in this film. This is _the_ rival genetics company (🧬) of INGEN that was introduced all the way back in 1993, and NOW they’re rearing their head and rising as the dominant genetics company of the world post-Lockwood Manor incident? The *casual* viewer might not really understand what it is about BioSyn that makes them such a threat due to the fact that they’ve been absent from the franchise for the longest time (until recently, that is).

Funnily enough, I recently watched Jack Ewins' timeline video on the progression of the dinosaurs between the islands up until Dominion. Basically Dodgson was doing this kind of dinosaur movement to his site in secret LONGER than InGen was out of action and the Nublar dinosaurs were in peril and moved off the island.
Dang it, Colin, it's like unintentional five dimensional chess here... That being said, megacorporations committing enormous corporate fraud while keeping things quiet isn't unheard of in our world. But it usually not this complicated.

  • @steveirwin3594

In an interview during Dominion's release, Trevorrow said that when Biosyn was given rights to round up all dinosaurs worldwide, this meant ALL dinosaurs - whether escaped from Nublar, newly resurrected species on the black market, and those on Isla Sorna, which is why Ramsey mentions Sorna and why the buck and doe rex are there. Canonically, there were still dinosaurs on Sorna up until Dominion.
I can't find the exact tweet, but I know the talk about Sorna being destroyed was essentially 'de-canonized' and said to be propaganda created by the DPG. My theory is that Trevorrow originally wanted Sorna destroyed (explaining the flippant attitudes toward it in JW and FK) but saw how the fans reacted poorly to this and so retconned Sorna into actually still being around. And thanks to Camp Cretaceous it's canonical that Mantah Corp was plucking species off the island as recently as 2016.
So yeah, current canon according to Trevorrow himself is there were dinosaurs on Sorna at LEAST until 2018. After FK Biosyn was granted rights to all the dinos, including those on Sorna, and then began transferring them off.
Edit: I found the original quote:
'As for Biosyn itself, while Dominion doesn’t explain exactly what the company was up to during the rise and fall of Jurassic World, Trevorrow did offer up his own thoughts on how Biosyn likely got back in the dinosaur game:
“This is just how I see it, we don’t define it as clearly in the movies, but I always saw it as the fall of Jurassic World was an opportunity for them and the combination of being able to secure the rights to get the animals from Sorna, which we mention that they do, to [being] able to take the animals that are now not only being created at various points across the globe, but have escaped and all of those embryos, everything that got out that they’ve been able to come up with, in a lot of ways, a really justifiable reason, an excuse to lay out to all these different governments, ‘Hey, are these dinosaurs a problem for you? Bring them over here. We’re gonna give them a safe space and we’re gonna give them shelter, and we don’t have to talk about any other kind of experiments we may be running because no one has to know about that.’”

The idea of taking Sorna's dinosaurs into the BioSyn Valley had to have had some people discovering, or at least hearing rumors about, before the events of "Fallen Kingdom", but the fact that it was so secretive just boggles my mind. The characters are a paleontologist, genetic engineer, and security guard that get caught up in the evacuation and are let stranded with all of the newly released dinosaurs. I was wondering, if you would know, if any of the dinosaurs that were released would have been close to full size or somewhere in the ball park of being sub-adult? The reason I ask this is because it would be nice for the characters to be able to encounter larger specimens and not just juveniles and chicks.

My idea was that Dodgson was successful in taking dinos from Sorna at the same time as TLW and that Biosyn was creating their own dinos in secret and releasing them into the real world when they found out that the dinos were set loose in FK. I had the idea that the main cast noticed the different versions and amounts of dinosaurs was more than what was set loose in FK and that they would discover Biosyn and all the while Biosyn and Dodgson would get background and character development to tie it in with JP and TLW. I hoped that Dodgson on Sorna in the 90’s taking baby dinos would be a good opening sequence. Anyways that was just what I really wanted from dominion but unfortunately we didn’t lol

Ok, Sorna was never mentioned in any of the Jurassic World movies. Not once. Colin Trevarrow even said he didn't consider 2 or 3 canon anymore, probably because they completely obliterate FK's plot. Even if they moved all the dinos from site B to A, the island erupted and all but like 50 of them died. And that wouldn't have stopped them from being able to move them all back to site B before the eruption. I know at the end of the first JP novel they bombed Nublar, but that didn't happen in the films and they went back to that island for JW1.

It’s actually mentioned by name in both Fallen Kingdom and Dominion. Colin never said 2 and 3 weren’t canon either. That was fake tabloid news that he even stated wasn’t true. In Fallen Kingdom Eli Mills says “Before the island, Sorna, Jurassic Park, Hammond and Lockwood built a lab” and in Dominion Ramsey Cole states “The first generation were taken from Sorna” while Dr. Wu later states “She was with us on Site B”. I’m paraphrasing but that info is spoken on screen more than once. I actually never thought about this and now that you have brought it up it completely changes things and makes the canon lore so much more complicated. If Biosyn had their own amber supply since the 90s and had some control over InGen as far back as the early as 1999 then why in the hell would they have wanted to steal from InGen? was it just for revenge? If so InGen always had extra viable embryos at their disposal, it’s not like Dennis Nedry took Jurassic Park’s whole supply. On the hand, while I still hate JWD main plot revolving around locusts they do make some sense now given that the context you created explains how Biosyn should have been loosing money if they had to maintain the Dino’s from Sorna; the locusts and their seeds would have made a great source of income in order to keep funding their projects and research on dinosaurs. Here’s the problem with that, they could have done so before JP3. I’m pretty sure Dr. Wu was still part of InGen back when the amalgam testing was going on and supposedly Biosyn was secretly controlling that operation, who’s to say they couldn’t have gotten him to make those locusts during that period. Why wait now? I’m still super confused by it all and don’t grasp it fully but that’s what I’ve gotten from all this

Yeah... Michael Crichton's second Jurassic Park book, 'Lost World', was set on Isla Sorna, Where Hammond has a second, secret facility. This was where all the real work of genetic modification, and rearing the dinosaurs were done, not the showcase lab that was part of the tour round Jurassic Park. Whilst on Isla Sorna, the protagonists discover that the dinosaurs they encounter are very young: they are breeding and dying far earlier than anyone expected. Eventually, they learn that due to the way the first generation was raised, and then to both the overpopulation of the island, and the fact it was easily transmitted and was highly contagious, all the dinosaurs are infected with a prion disease known only as DX. This disease will ultimately lead to the re-extinction of dinosaurs, since.
Another story thread that got mentioned in the very first film, almost in passing, was again, a far bigger plot line in the book, leading to some dinsaurs escaping off the islands onto mainland South America. This was the Lysine Contingency. It's mentioned just once in the Jurassic Park film as a failsafe to ensure escaped dinosaurs didn't survive. In the book, it's explained that all the dinosaurs were genetically engineered so they couldn't make the amino acid Lysine in their own bodies. Their only supply of the chemical came in the specially designed food they were fed at the park, and without this supply they would quickly die off. However, at the end of the book that some strange bird like creatures have been seen heading into the forested mountains at the back of the mainland close. As they've migrated they've attacked small farms and eaten a very limmited range of foodstuffs, specificalluy, Chickens and Agama beans... both rich in Lysine. It's implied the animals have overcome their built in deficiency by learning to eat stuff full of it.

It was mentioned on the site that some of the dinos were evacuated from Sorna after the catastrophe and sent to Jurassic World, it's possible that some of the transports delivering the Animals "mysteriously disappeared" (were bribed by biosyn).
Also it was speculated in JP3 that Spiny was the result of meddling by Ingeen after the park was turned into a sanctuary. Not only does the destruction by Spiny reenforce the idea that it brought ecological collapse on Sorna, but if they can so easily have brought Animals onto the Island (as well as all the tourism that apparently happens which is how Erik got stranded) then it wouldn't be too difficult to take them off either.

The Costa Rican and/or US government(s) could have secretly decided to move some of the dinos off of Site B for safety reasons and turned to Biosyn to do it. The governments could then have been secretly paying Biosyn all this time to house and take care of those dinos. Its not outside the realm of possibility.

In production it's kind of sobering the remember that a lot of executives and higher-ups working on the projects of the film's probably thought fans didn't give a damn about the initial two sequels. After all the sort of reference was only thrown into Fallen Kingdom last minute and because of the viral marketing. The 2010s were very weird when it came to the nostalgia boom because there was a lot of assumptions that certain franchise has had a lot of nostalgic fans but the fans were only nostalgic about the first iteration and installment. I think my the latter part of the 2010s and then especially by the 2020s, studios and creators had wised-up.

Honestly, it's writer incompetence and not knowing their damn lore.
I'll be honest here Klayton, the more I look at the Jurassic World movies, the more comparisons I can make between it and the sequel trilogy of Star Wars:
    - Jurassic World is basically The Force Awakens because it kind of rethreads the very first movie (Jurassic Park and A New Hope). People liked it enough and it made a shitton of money.
    - Fallen Kingdom is basically The Last Jedi. Convoluted mess of a story with too many plot threads, too many characters and a bunch of things that don't make a lick of sense, least liked movie in the trilogy.
-Dominion is basically The Rise of Skywalker. Tries to tie up the messy plotlines from the movies that came before, give a shitton of fanservice yet drops the ball so hard that it makes a damn crater, however it's at least mildly more enjoyable than the movie that came before it.
EDIT: I almost forgot to add here that it retcons shit from the previous movie!
JWFK/TLJ -> "You're a clone of Lockwood's daughter, Charlotte, he lost her and he couldn't live without her"/"You're a nobody"
    to
JWD/TRoS -> "Charlotte Lockwood is actually your mother and she basically cloned herself and cured her uncurable disease because she da best!"/"You're Palpatine's granddaughter."
    Hell, even who directed it mirrors the sequel trilogy! JW/TFA -> Trevorrow/Abrams, JWFK/TLJ -> Bayona/Johnson, JWD/TRoS -> Trevorrow/Abrams.
But the throughline here is that the people behind both of these series of movies don't know what the fuck they were doing and didn't THINK about the lore and how it all fits together. They just threw things together without care.

My question is, we saw things like the chaos effect toy line. While not cannon, Ingen by the whole island chain. So, they could technically make it cannon. While Site B is the “factory floor”, it’s been said that it was mostly for show, and very little actual research was done there. They just raise the animals and then ferry them over to Site A. So naturally, the actual R&D happened on one of the other islands. Which leaves a lot of possibilities for some freaky stuff.

I think biosyn made a lot of money under the table with research. Because people have known about ingen and the dinosaurs for years. They could make tons of money with selling to the world of paleontology/paleobiology or even the field of genetics. We know how many people want dinosaurs so if they can’t have them then the next best thing is the ability to make their own or getting them second hand from biosyn

You need to look at the original books to understand who Biosyn really is, specifically Crichton’s The Lost World. Dominion does a terrible job at explaining the corruption, reverse engineering, and corporate espionage that Dodgson was responsible for. He is NOT the Steve Jobs archetype figure as he is portrayed. In the books (which should always be canon) he is a cold-hearted, menace.
To your point, if Biosyn somehow succeeded in kidnapping dinosaurs or embryos off of the island, their end game wasn’t for entertainment, it was to exploit an animal species and experiment their pharmaceuticals on them without governmental regulation. Therefore, they could still make turn a profit while continuing their shady and unethical business practices. The Biosyn in dominion is a far cry from what Crichton described.

Honestly it makes sense that Biosyn wanted to keep the dinosaurs for so long on the DL even if it costed money. They were just waiting for the right time to use them to make them profitable. If word got out about the failure of OG Jurassic Park, then the public's perception of dinosaurs wouldn't be so great. Maybe they were waiting for the Jurassic World to be a success before being like "hey we have dinos too"

What is also crazy is that Isla Siena is even bigger compared to Nublar, and it isn’t your theme park designed island. Like before it’s the experimenting ground, and a lot more wild. I think it’s considerably lazy writing that they just wrote off that they all just died, and just left it at that. I mean is it the Lysine contingency or something, because I thought the dinosaurs had firmly established their own ecosystem on their own. I don’t know these newer movies are not as good as the originals, but it’s good to hear about this universe and hear the old music he uses in explains this stuff again. 😀👍😎

In the second book, at Site B they couldn't figure out how to keep the dinosaurs alive for very long, unless they released them out into the wilds. Even then they had a high death rate. They weren't really counting or able to count survivors. And that is a prime opportunity for some group to get to site B and steal baby dinos, all they really need is to observe when they get released and snatch them up shortly after.
