Are people still arguing that Lost World and JP3 aren't canon? That was literally just a few grumpy fans who misinterpreted a couple of quotes before Jurassic World came out.

It never sat right with me that all the dinosaurs would look exactly the same as one other. Even with the cloning there are different versions and variations and this goes all the way back to Crichton!
There are differents raptor most of the time have different color from each other and the new series camp creators show a ton of variations
They aren't even technically "cloned". Not only do the gaps in DNA being filled with frog (or other) DNA disqualify them as clones but the fact that the DNA used to compile a single dinosaurs species' genome are from multiple fossil or amber specimens. Additionally the breeding would add further genetic variation disqualifying them as clones.
I just hope the baby Trex has a happy ending.

Certain species, like the Pteranodons,compies, could've survived if they had enough resources and food.

these animals can also island hop. The pteranodons can of course fly and the compies ride on rafts/logs or ever stole away on boats/ships to either the mainland and neighboring islands.
There isn't enough place on the island for big Sauropods to find enough food and even if they could there were too many big predators like T-Rex and Spinosaurus for a functioning ecosystem. I guess the only species who could thrive would be the smaller species and a few of the medium sized. There is a reason why dinosaur fossils from former islands used to be smaller.
Doesn’t anyone watched a Dinosaur Planet episode, Pod’s Travels? Even if there were dinosaurs on Sorna, the bigger ones would never thrive on a small island with an enclosed ecosystem, and the only ones left are the small and some medium-sized animals, including the Velociraptors which could be the future apex predators on Sorna.

@@prehistorichero2755 The raptors from Jurassic park the lost world wouldn't be able to survive, they were overly aggressive and would eventually start killing each other. But the ones from Jurassic park 3 could've survived.
I really hope Isla Sorna still has Rexes on it. Hammond bred 7 Rexes after all, are we supposed to believe that the spino was able to kill all of the rexes on Sorna? Obviously they did breed and change sex so theres gotta be more! Maybe in Dominion we'll find out that dinosaurs have been lose on the mainland for a lot longer then we've known before? Dinosaur poaching was a problem for Ingen. imagine if some Costa Rican druglord or African druglord captured rexes and lost them in the wilds of their homelands?

Plus you have to consider natural ways of traversing water. As it is known, that for example europe was a whole bunch of islands 80 mya, there were multiple species on different islands. Maybe harsh storms washed creatures away into the ocean and some happened to survive that or there were something swimming on the water like logs or even boats that weren't fastened. Not even mentioning flying animals like pterosaurs which can get easily on other places and the continents.
SPOILERS: in the new movie at the end, rexy is seen with two other t.rexes. Those two were confirmed to be the buck and doe from The Lost World.
Dinosaurs loose in Costa Rico might clutter up the plot with the beasts already loose here in the USA. But hey. Why not? It is a Jurassic World, right?
I always assumed that Sorna was still canon for all the points listed here, and never ret-conned from existence.
I would love to believe that SOMETHING HAS STILL SURVIVED on Sorna, and it would make sense that Masrani would try to keep it secret as a means to protect it. But wouldn't Wu have still known about Sorna in that case? And wouldn't he have worked with Mills and Wheatley in pillaging Sorna of its dinosaur population for their auction as well? Unless Sorna was tightly monitored and Masrani Global either had some believers who would defend the Simon's legacy, or they wouldn't want to risk another containment breach in which their company would further be liable for?
I don't know, still a bunch of questions that the DPG and the films have still left unanswered about Sorna. Will Dominion answer any of them or will we have to wait for another sequel or spin-off to start addressing them?
I'd love to see a one-off non-canon movie or show that depicts the Lost World book. It's legitimately still one of my favorite novels of all time

I think a lot of what they’re doing is still hidden from the public. so when the News Anchor talked about the rest of the dinosaurs dying, i think the public just was made to think nothing is left. but at the same time, i hope they don’t just keep going back to islands in the movies. i think it’s a tad overdone.

Yeah, I really hope that it's revealed in "Jurassic World 3: Dominion" that the general public was lied to by the Masrani Global Corporation about the status of dinosaurs on Isla Sorna, so that people, especially poachers, would stop going to the island, and I hope that, at the end of the movie, all of the dinosaurs freed from Lockwood Manor that are still alive get captured and brought to Isla Sorna. I also hope that a new functioning dinosaur zoo/theme park gets created on one of the other Five Deaths, and that it stays functioning.

I still like to think they took some of the dinosaurs off the island for display in the early days of Jurassic World, but left the problematic dinosaurs abandoned on the island to eventually be killed off by the aftermath of Sibo
I don’t really know if an island like 60 miles away would be affected by a volcanic eruption, sure smoke would possibly cause problems for a little bit but other than that..
I really hope Jurassic World Dominion ties in Isla Sorna in some way ... that would be super cool and satisfying ....

I like that all five movies are connected on one timeline. I remember when Jurassic World was coming out, there were a lot of rumors that Lost World & JP3 were being retconned but as you said, Fallen Kingdom definitely confirmed the existence of Isla Sorna and the events of the previous films. I feel like the lack of explanation to what’s going on with Isla Sorna is good because it not only leaves a lot to speculate on what will happen in Dominion, but also leaves room for the rising EU of this franchise. I think that period between JP3 and Jurassic World would be great for some Netflix shows or even just novels about the events leading up to the opening of the park. Idk about anyone else, but a Jurassic World prequel series showing the rise of the successful dinosaur park sounds like the direction to go. Great vid and thank you for helping me rekindle my love for this franchise!

Yes I did. I had to wrap my head around and listen to the radio request for helicopter rescue that was referencing Nublar base while showing a map of Sorna. Interesting that they make a game about exploring Sorna in Camp Cretaceous.
I want the Lost World pteranodons back. Those were the bomb.
I hope they don't just say Isla Sorna is not cannon or something like, Site B is dead and all the dinosaurs were poached cause everyone isn't gonna buy it. To me, I want Jurassic World Dominion to reveal Sorna in a serious, dark and shocking way of what really happened on Site B, such as Spinosaurus being the one responsible of every dinosaurs that has gone to extinction.
I like the idea of a disease, and the idea of the spinosaurus interrupting the ecosystem and killing all the predators that weren't saved.

When spinosaurus bred , everything was changed. It started to kill t rexes . Due to this more herbivores , that means less resources
Theory: you know how they said in camp cretaceous that they will be anouncing a new dino species at the end of the year? At first i thought it would be the Indominous rex, but as we can see in the movies it was already anounced, so my theory is that it was the Allosaurus, that would explain why we never saw them in Jurassic World or Camp Cretaceous, and it would also possibly explain why they where all juveniles in Fallen Kingdom

Realistically, they couldn't have gotten all of the compies off the island.
Yeah I’d imagine that there was hundreds, if not thousands, of Compys on Site B. They couldn’t have gotten them all.
They knew how many they released and had ways to track them on the island, read the book.

With JP3 Rex and Raptor this could be just a coincidence - whatever the filmmakers got, they added to pads. But JP2 parasaurolophuses and inclusion of spinosaurus clearly say that Sorna is still around. And about the belief that it is empty of dinosaurs, I just hope and believe that even this time SOMETHING HAS SUVIVED.
Maybe the spinosaurus is still alive from jp 3 .

Three dinosaurs that are interesting spinosaurus trex and velocaraptor

I'm pretty sure all the dinosaurs that remained on Sorna in 2004 were taken to Nublar by Masrani Global and dinosaurs such as paras, stego, anky, brachi etc were introduced into the park and others such as mamenchi, cory, cerato, spino were introduced into Sector 5 habitats where they were researched and had tests done to see if they were able to live in multi species Paddocks. All these dinosaurs were Released after 2015 and were roaming the island freely but it is Unknown if any of the Sorna species went extinct as Edmonto and Metri are the only two dinosaurs confirmed to have gone extinct during 2015-2018. It is quite possible that the Sorna exclusive dinosaurs were saved by Ken wheatly as there is rumours that ceratosaurus, mamenchisaurus and spinosaurus were saved but none of those rumours have been confirmed or denied by Jurassic crew members. It is possible that none of the Sorna species were saved but they were all on Nublar in 2015 but their fate is currently unknown.

9:07, like Hammond said when InGen was facing bankruptcy and in order to bail them out, Ludlow tried to take the animals off the island for HIS own Jurassic Park.
Thank you dude for still putting out awesome content about one of my favorite movies of all time. I love JP and I’m a little sad the series is coming to end in the next movie. Let’s hope the reboot is awesome.
I did some research and I found out that at the end of Jurassic World: Dominion we see the T. Rex who attacked Lex and Tim socializing with the Male and Female T. Rex from The Lost World: Jurassic Park, after the events of Jurassic World, and during Fallen Kingdom. Camp Cretaceous Lewis Dodson and Biosyn actually went to Isla Sorna where they’d pillaged the island and took every single dinosaur off the island to the Biosyn Sanctuary. In which was the same way that Ingen was trying to take the dinosaurs to San Diego, when I saw the skin color of the two Rex’s I learned that those are the same Rex’s from the Lost World, so basically isla sorna is still there but most of the dinosaurs have been relocated to the sanctuary by Biosyn, after the events of Jurassic Park 3: Simon Masarni and his company went to isla sorna and relocate the dinosaurs isla nublar’s new park . Jurassic World both Masarni and Biosyn actually took of the dinosaurs off Site B

Since talks have been going around about a live action tv series on jurassic park/world. I would love for Isla Sorna to be part of that tv series, like people secretly visiting that island to hunt dino's and finding out huge animals still live there. Or Doc Wu who has a secret DNA lab there and from there we explore the world of cloning. That would be awesome!

I don't understand why Isla Sorna dinosaurs werent in Jurassic World and Fallen Kingdom. Remember Movies are atleast 2 hours and 15 minutes estimated and I just feel like that Jurassic World Dominion would feel like they rushed it like they did in Fallen Kingdom. I really want to know what happened to the Trex family in Sorna. Especially the Spinosaurus

I did some fan fiction back in the late 2000s and early 2010s called Jurassic Station. Spinning off what we saw in Lost World and III. Namely naval ships escorting the freighter with the Rexes back to Sorna and the Marines landing to rescue Grant and his party. The premise was there was a permanent naval squadron off the Isla Sorna to protect it. Because, like in real life, everyone thinks the warning about not trespassing on the island is for someone else, not them. So you have every idiot with a boat or a plane surreptitiously trying to land on the island or over fly it. Like the Dinosaur people who marooned Eric Kirby. So the naval squadron is tasked with patrolling the water and airspace over the island. They have vtol planes and helicopters off a amphibious assault ship to patrol the air and small boats to patrol the water. To stop people from entering the water and air, rescuing those who make it to the island and survive their bad experience.
I really hope they address site b situation clearly and explicitly in dominion

I find it very interesting that the Jurassic World films leave isla sorna as a mystery. I hope they give a little more context in Dominion, or even in camp cretaceous.

remember, site b is probably still a high classified subject because everything was tested there, it's obvious the media wouldn't know much about it, and the main argument proving this is on the first movie, with another company trying to stole their secrets/dna

Interesting take. I think part of the reason we didn’t go back to Isla Sorna yet in any of the Jurassic World movies is because we went there for 2 sequels in the original trilogy; completely ignoring Nublar. I remember at the time of seeing JP3, I kept thinking “why are they ignoring the original island from JP1?” We didn’t have an answer at the time…and I’m not sure the people who were trying to make a sequel for 14 years had an idea. JW sorta bridged the gap for what happened with Nublar for us as viewers not seeing it for 22 years on film.
That being said, there is no way there is zero life left on Sorna. The only 2 animals I want to know about from there are the tiger striped Raptors from TLW…and most important, the buck T. rex. He’s my favorite from the entire franchise. Is Rexy truly the only surviving Rex from the original trilogy that Masrani Global was able to capture? I’m hoping for an explanation about where that buck Rex is

I have a feeling Sorna might be a part of Dominion- not a huge part, but some. Perhaps Mantah Corp has something to do with it. Maybe secret operations are still being run (by the government, Ingen, or even Mantah Corp), and that is where the (I anticipate) Troodons and other yet-to-see dinosaurs could come from. Perhaps there is a tie-in with Camp Cretaceous, since it is trying to be canon?

As for the video itself I'm all for more Sorna content, honestly I'm really fascinated to see more of what was going on there and the world afterwards. you could get a lot of interesting storytelling elements even out of fairly mundane things such as a bunch of different creatures from very different time periods being put together. How does a Cretaceous Tyrannosaurus Rex figure out how to successfully hunt a Jurassic stegosaurus that it has no instincts telling it how to interact with it? We are told a lot of fishermen went missing in the Lost World when they got near the islands, so was something out and about near the water picking them off or were they landing for some reason? Lot of good storytelling opportunity.
I definitely think there are still dinosaurs on Isla sorna! I hope we get to see the spinosaurus again and the male tyrannosaur ! I really hope we get to go back to Sorna! Lost world is my favorite Jurassic park and I absolutely love the green tyrannosaur! Dominion is gonna be awesome no matter what tho but I hope to see my two favorite dinosaurs again!
