As someone who went through Hurricane Katrina and Ida imagining dinos running amok during the storm would be petrifying. Both Hurricanes were night time landfalls The way you described the lightning would be spot on. Imagine lighting popping all around you. The tree start swaying more than I what they were secs ago. You hear trees snapping metal getting crunch just to see a tornado being revealed by the lighting. Survives realize they r in the hurricane eye though shaken up by the twister some walk the middle of the street to pick up gear everyone hears rumbling then a herd of tri stampede him followed by raptors that were chasing the triceratops. The raptors quickly lose interest in tri eyeing up the easy prey of the humans.

People stranded on a stormy Site B would be neat if done seriously like the early movies, and not treated as "popcorn movie silliness" like the World movies tended to do. Only real issue I had with this idea is that Hammond didn't hint at any casualties or anything as cataclysmic as this, but then again he wanted to preserve Site B and delving into that would've immediately turned Malcolm off more than he already was. So, I'm full of it. Plus it would flesh out InGen's backstory and corporate politics. Maybe Biosyn tries to take advangate of the confusion. Might be too much, but the movies didn't deal with the espionage aspect of the universe. Particularly during the Park era. Might work as either a novel or a TV show.

No, things actually went to shit on Site B within the year due to multiple factors. Drastic budget cut due to InGen going bankrupt, sabotage, poaching and industrial espionage then the hurricane was the last nail in the coffin. It was just a catastrophic event like the first Park only the things leading to it didn't happen all at once.

Oh hey, I actually designed a tabletop campaign based around a similar kind of concept. I called it "Site B '93" (because I'm a sucker for rhymes) and was sort of a long-term survival horror thing where the storm that hit Nublar, plus Nedry's virus (that was slowly spreading across the Site B network after getting in through a satellite uplink) had caused chaos, with the players intended to be various Ingen employees stuck there awaiting rescue... if it ever comes, that is. I'd gotten as far as putting together "dino sheets" for each specific species of dino the players were likely to encounter, which treated the dinosaurs more like intricate puzzles to be solved rather than monsters to be fought or shot. Each dino sheet listed their drives and quirks (like what environments they would seek out, how territorial they might be, stuff like that) and also their "genetic issues" which was a bit of poetic license from me. I liked the idea that the reason the JP dinos are so different to actual prehistoric dinosaurs was the Ingen habit of patching the DNA gaps with material from modern-day creatures, so I gave each dino at least one weird issue derived from bad DNA patching. Like the T. rex having poor vision, or the velociraptors being hyperaggressive... I deviated quite a bit from canon, I'll admit, but who doesn't in this franchise?

I think Camp Cretaceous, while an animated show geared more for a younger audience, it proved that a streaming series set in between would work well. It's what has worked with the Star Wars franchise of late. There's arguably countless stories that could be told between all of the jurassic films.

    The park finally becoming operational
Dinosaurs on the mainland, which is what a lot of us thought Dominion was going to be.

Our Island was devastated for several months afterwards not having any electricity/power, having to ration water and supplies, and being cut off from the rest of the State and world. Some of the ideas you mentioned (like waiting for your group's boat ride) make me think of Quint's "Indianapolis" speech, and how Spielberg wanted a "Jaws" sequel that adapted that story; and you've got this whole freaky tense situation of waiting for your turn to be rescued while there is blood in the water around you. You could absolutely channel that same tension into this "Jurassic Park" story.

    It also begs more questions:
Were/how many more animals were cloned and released into Sorna's wilderness between the fall of Jurassic Park and Clarissa slamming Sorna?
Like how much time was there between the two incidents?
Was there enough time to screen the DNA and clone new batches of animals in that time frame?
Were the Buck and Doe rexes (or other rexes too for that matter) cloned before or immediately after the fall of the original park?
Did they prep a new batch of animals that screened out the amphibian DNA from (this time deliberately allowing for both male and female forms, without the risks of sex changing), in preperation for an attempt to reclaim Nublar or set up a park elsewhere?
Could that also explain some of the noted differences between the raptors from Nublar vs the tiger-striped versions on Sorna?
A LOT of possible questions or scenarios that now feel a bit up in the air that seemed inferred before, but now seem very unaswered. And very intriguing to address too in such a film.

Not as a movie, but as a miniseries. Start the first episode with with the ending of Jurassic Park, maybe show that the main characters of the mini-series worked on Nublar and have them leave the island before the hurricane hits.
Then pick up after the events of Jurassic Park, they want to get back to Nublar but the island is considered total loss, with the main characters being reassigned on Isla Sorna. Show Sorna as a sort of... Scientist haven, where they study the animals in the wild while cloning them to figure things out before they'd get sent into the park, show them discovering that all of the species can switch genders, the issues that it causes and them trying to contain it all. Then in the final three episodes have Clarissa hit and the main characters try to get off the island alive.
If it's a hit, you can have a second miniseries that bridges the gap between JPIII and Jurassic World and BAM, you have everything covered.

    Ok heres my take
So it starts with the ian moment that you talked about, then it cuts to a storm cloud going over to isla sorna. In the worker vilage we meet are main team who have been alreated that a storm is coming, but ingen doesnt think it will be that bad but it gets stronger and the power goes out builds get destroyed and fences aroun the vilage break, everyone is alerted to get to the docks. Alot of people die and eventualy the storm passes, then we meet back to are main crew who wernt able to get off the island.
the second part of the film is them trying to get to the worker vilage (they start at lab from jp3) but as it turns out theres a cliff seprating the jp3 part of sorna from the jp2 so the second part of it is getting up there whilst escaping the spino that broke free in the storm.
Once they get up the cliff and to the worker vilage they use the radio to call for help and fight off the raptors in an epic finaly and only one is able to barly get onto a rescue heli and making it out alive

I can't remember where I read it, but I always thought a really cool sequel, or just a lower-scale reboot, would be about a group of 5 or so park workers in the original Jurassic Park in a different part of the island (or maybe Site B) who didn't manage to take the boat for the weekend, having to survive and escape the island when all hell breaks loose. They could be in a non-tourist part of the island, think heavy jungle foliage with rivers, more concrete/functional buildings, with a variety of personalities that are stressed but whom you care about so each ones deaths impacts you more. There's no annoying one, no traitor, no out-for-themselves-asshole-victim, but half a dozen or so fleshed out characters with positives and negatives, real people.
The movie starts with them going through their normal operations, establishing characters. For each one they miss being able to take the boat back for the weekend for whatever reason (maybe they miss it, maybe they're part of a skeleton crew etc), they settle in and have a little party together, but then weird things start happening, systems start going down, they hear shouts/screams over the radio - they have no idea why. We, the audience know, but they don't, with hints of the original 1993 movie bleeding into the narrative.
This one could feature a handful of new dinosaurs, but those dinosaurs have *a lot greater screen time* rather than just on being screen for 1 second in the background, and different environments such as heavy jungle foliage with rivers and more industrial concrete/function buildings (think power station, hatchery, holding pens, staff barracks, armory etc), making this film feel fresh and different despite the tropey-premise of Roar-Run.
I thought it'd be great lower-scale sequel anyway, but what do I know, everythings gotta be epic bruh.

@@galaxydeathskrill5607 They're the experiments done at Site B's Ingen Lab from JP3. Before the 3rd film around 1999 (2 years after TLW), Wu, Ingen scientists and undercover BioSyn spies went to Isla Sorna to conduct illegal experiments in the lab and cloned certain dinosaur species that weren't in the previous 2 films (Ankylosaurus, Corythosaurus, Ceratosaurus) and cloned the genetically, aggressive Spinosaurus with augmented strength and durability (explaining why it defeated the T.rex so easily). The experiments are also rumored to be connected to the quilled Raptors and aggressive Pteranodons from the 3rd film (a great opportunity for Universal to recton them and explain why they're so different from their previous versions). A story covering these events between JP2 and 3 would truly make for a fascinating film. Even the events of *Operation: Clean Sweep* that takes place 1 year after JP1 would also make a great film since it cover Ingen going back to Nublar and discovering why Jurassic Park failed and learn what happened to Dennis Nedry.

Given that the storm ceased during the evening hours, it must of been a quick passing storm that weakened by the time it arrived.
