  • @Pugwash.

    I put my fire extinguisher next to the door, because if my van is on fire the first thing I look at is the door! BTW I also have a Maxus. The clutch may fail. If you have any battery issues the odometer may add 800k to the figure. The pipe from the power steering pump to the rack might spring a leak. Don't driver around Spain without power steering and clutch as it's a physical workout!

    Great setup ! 2 fan setup seems to be smart idea for keeping cool. I'm also looking to buy a van for conversion, possible a LDV V80. But in Australia LDV are made in China .. uggg!? Still doing my research. Euro vans are very expensive in Oz.

    • @BigVanSmallWorld
      @BigVanSmallWorld  6 лет назад +1

      Gday mate thank you for the positive feedback much appreciated.I spent heaps of time in oz (family on the gold coast) 2nd home to me. I have owned and driven all sorts of vans and this LDV is fantastic considering its age I really can't fault it, as far as I know, the vans made in China are made from the same tooling from the UK as we sold the whole lot shock and barrel to them ironically they now sell them back to us I see a brand new one the other day. the only weakness locks there just perfect size to me for conversion I wouldn't hesitate to get another one so easy to work on too. go for a V80 mate just check it over like you would any other van, the two fans do work brilliantly just wish I could slow them down they really do create a wind tunnel lol. good luck, Mel.

    Hi m8, can you tell me how you ran your cable from your engine battery to your Split Charge Relay..?
    Whereabouts does it go through the engine bay and did you have to remove the dashboard..?
    I think the wiring goes over the drivers door and down the side of the windscreen, but where does it go through the engine bay firewall..?
    Is it behind the fuse box in the engine bay..?

    We are all human and we all know that from time to time everybody needs to use a loo and it amazes me how many van dwellers do not have a porta poti at least in there vans, some say I don't need one some say I use gym or coffee shop or other loos, but what about when you are out in the countryside in the middle of nowhere yes you could go behind a bush or something but if by chance the police happen to be about and they see you you will be arrested, also safety if there was some nutter lurcking about ans=d it could also be raining hard and you need the loo and you may be somebody that goes more often and to just use a bottle or some use a bag and sawdust to me that is rediculas I for one in a van the size you have I would have a medium size porta poti and depending how long you would stay in you van if say you just using it for a few day break then 1 waste tank is enough but say you will be in it for a week or even live in the van full time like lots do have at least 2 porta poti waste tanks until you get to somewhere that you can empty the waste tanks.
