On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.
If you enjoy war thunder or Microsoft flight simulator 2020 or even dogfighting in Battlefield 2042, consider getting yourself into Digital Combat Simulator by Eagle Dynamics, the Combat side of Aviation with the BVR and Dogfights really provides a different and interesting perspective on aviation. You can fly all kinds of combat aircraft including the F-16, F-15, F-14, JF-17, Su-27, Mig-29, Mirage and the F-18 Hornet along with many other aircraft and helicopters like the Ka-50 and Mi-8. Игры

F-14E ?🤨
Ah yes, the all time classic F-14E
Nice video title, P.S. typo
How about a 1967 Ford Pinto VS an A-10 fight. Could get interesting if the gas tank blows up. . .
Didn't you just turn into an average in ONE mission?
Damn!
Oh shit, the F-14E Phantom? The epic crossover we never got
Gottem! :D
There was a proposal for making a swing-wing Phantom called the F-4 (FV)-S, so yeah, that crossover almost happened😅
@@jgl6793 Never heard of that before now. It's a good looking plane!
Day 8 of asking for 2 morons in 1 phantom
F 14E Phantom???
Dude it's still locked in Northrop Grumman and Boeing technology.
Bro got access to those sekrit dokuments at Area 51
Still there because Boeing can't figure out how to keep the door from falling out
VMFA-112. flew the ultimate Navy-Marine version of the Phantom, the F-4S, in 1987. On January 18, 1992, VMFA-112 became the last Marine squadron to fly the Phantom II, thus ending a thirty-one year relationship with the famed Phantom aircraft.
West Coast Phantoms here, and Kaneohe Bay Hawaii. S was slats, yeah?
@@KillerKev1961 yes sir they were.
You're Jesus you prolly ought to be able to fly anything...
@ltjjenkins lmao 🤣 I do fly helicopters now that I am a civilian. I was with VMFA 112 as a F4 crew chief from 82 to 87.
I spent some time repairing the An/APx-72 IFF, the Kit1a, and AWG-10A radar for VMAT-101 during the early 80s at MCAS Yuma.
Don't think it's standard procedure to release tanks while almost upsidedown. 😆🛩
the forbidden tomcat, the F-14E
The F-14E "PhantomCat"?
The deadliest stealth bomber
Damn the F-14E is such a cool airplane
I am very glad DCS solved the operational issues with the AIM-7. The Pk (kill probability) of the AIM-7E was less than 10%; US fighter pilots shot down 59[Note 1] aircraft out of the 612 Sparrows fired.[10] Of the 612 AIM-7D/E/E-2 missiles fired, 97 (or 15.8%) hit their targets, resulting in 56 (or 9.2%) kills. Two kills were obtained beyond visual range.[11]
A lot of it had to do with the Vietnam war’s ROE, Vietnam’s environment and pilots trying to fire sparrows out of their operational limits. Not to mention the missiles weren’t being maintained or stored properly on the ground, leading to all sorts of issues
Eh, the Missiles he is firing are 9Ms and 7F/Ms. Wholly different missiles than the 7E or 9J used in Nam
Man the detail of this module is crazy. The way the ejection seat handles bend under g load and shake around. Just amazing.
Yo were out here with the F14E Phantom 😂
On the first match I find it unbelievable. 3 Viet Nam era Sparrow launches and all 3 worked.
Those looked more like 7Ms based on the long burn time
Not Nam era missiles.
He aint running Vietnam era missiles, hes using missiles from the future designed on the lessons learned from Vietnam
@@larrysteve7272 that takes all the fun out of it. I wanted to see 3 sparrows get laughed at by the NVA pilot.
Thought the same thing lol
Got to see a MIG 17 at an air show recently, it was crazy fast!
definitely one of the best planes to see perform. it looks so good flying
I was watching your video on my TV and I just wanna compliment you on your amazing eyesight. I can't see anything you see at distance and I've always admired how you can spot and identify things so well. Keep up the great content 👍
Thank you for zooming in! I know in the past I've had a hard time seeing the Mig-21s but for some reason I could see these Mig 17s and was able to enjoy the video!
F4 vs f104 dog fight. Lets see if theres a difference
I do prefer Vietnam era Fox 1s and boresight sidewinders because more skill is involved, especially because once you're fixated on a target (especially with Fox 1s), anyone can creep up behind you. I mean, anyone can shoot down anyone with little or no skill with helmet mounted tracking or AIM-9X.
Damn, that whole video you made the F-4 look really good and easy (don't turn fight)
Took my first flight in it today. Flying, take off and landing is super easy. Wish the F16 was so easy to land in.
@@Gunfreak19 that's sick dude! Yet to touch the F4
Great video on the F4E and Mug 17 , would be interesting to run the same scenario under the US rules of engagement that IS pilots had to abide by ( that you had to have a visual identification of the target before you could employ the Sparrow misses severely reducing the envelope of the F4 ..( I read US pilots would lock a target then there wingman would go full throttle and spot the target allowing his buddy to fire the Sparrow beyond visual range ) simply amazing ! , In the video you a fault scissors with a Mug 17 and lived , simply amazing , keep up the good work !.
Good Job on the F4 video!! I worked on all of the huge rebuilds and mods of the old F4s at Hill AFB back in the 80's. Those were all stripped down completely and restored to far better than new. Some were sent back to their units, and others sent to an unknown location. No doubt other types of mods were added since then, but all the heavy duty rebuilds were all done in huge hangers during those years. The F16 had just started to be built then too, but no where near the massive numbers of all the F4's rebuilt.
The compilation idea is great. Keep 'um coming, please.
Your videos are so informative and cinematic I just love it.
Yes sir. Classic tactics for the Rhino. Using the vertical to get the turning room you need.
Great video of the F-4 you have been putting out!
Super nostalgic fight! Reminded me of Dogfights on the History Channel. Thank you GS!
Nice Phantom mission. Great video 😀
Love these medleys. Lots of work I guess but hope to see more!
Love these chaotic battles
Amidst the blue skies, a link from past to future. The sheltering wings of the protector… the flames of hatred scorch the skies, igniting Gaia’s funeral pyre.
That new F14E Phantom lol
I love this chanel and dcs.
As long as the Phantom stays over 400 knots, it has superior transient maneuvering capability over the MiG-17. The MiG's manual controls develop very high stick pressure over 400 knots, which makes it slow to roll, with very heavy elevators to book. In fact, the MiG has a control stick extension that lets the pilot raise the top of the sick by 18 inches, to get more leverage. On the other hand, if the Phantom gets slow, the MiG can easily turn inside and stay with it through any reversals.
Love the vids gs let’s see some more gwat missions maybe some nvg???😁😁 much love
I've asking for this for last 3 years.... Finally.. I got to see that
You know we need a dogfight video of F4 with five gatling pods!!!!
Vs the A-10
Beautiful sandwich maneouvre on the 2nd bandit! Classic team work ACM kills!
I don't know if MiG-17 had RWR, but Russians were able to build a warning device for MiG-15's in Korea. It was capable to detect a radar rangefinder from F-86 and as far as I am aware it was developed after they examined downed Sabre
I don’t think so, especially when it’s export version, and even if the ‘17 have it, maybe only SPO-10(which don’t have fox1 warning function)
Those vapors coming off the wing man… thank you GS ❤
Gotta love the f14e phancat
Phantcat: 😕
Tomtom: 😃
Phantomcat
You guys took out almost the entire Vietnamese air force in 15 minutes lol.
NO WAY THE PHANTOM HAS A SWING WING NOW?
Look up the F-4 FVS
i sure do love the F-14E phantom
He owes you. GS doesn’t need saving, if you get caught thinking you’ve got GS where you want him, it’s a trap, grip the ejection handles and pucker up…
Except if it's a BVR fight. Then, if GS thinks he's good, you got the kill automatically
@@RT42069 this is fact. 👆
@@RT42069 Especially if a hypersonic missile is involved. XD
@@vicroc4 "I'm treating it like an AMRAAM so I should be ----" **boom**
Love the new modern aircraft but i need to see more of these older aircraft
just once I want to hear Danger Zone cranked up when you engage
On an F-4 it'd havta be something earlier. Breadfan maybe or something from the Stones
Whole time i was waiting for those 21s to finally show up.
Hi, can you make a detailed video on how to set the main controls to manage the radar and weapons? I would also like to understand how to use the AIM-7 and AIM-9. Thank you
Lima Sidewinders against Mig-17s? Not fair. Bravo Sidewinders would be more historically apropriate.
That’s what I was thinking. All the Sidewinders he fires at MiG-17s sure do fly straight and track really well.
Looks nothing like the gun camera footage from Wings over Vietnam from 90s Discovery Channel.
Looked like he was also firing AIM-7M as well, judging by the longer burn time. AIM-7D or E and AIM-9E or J would be the Vietnam era loadout iirc
Bro its 2 F-4E's against 3 MIG-17's, you really think the deciding factor is the Lima? A couple of AIM-7E-2's and 9E's and J's would do the job either way not taking into account the... you know, humongus difference between aircrafts and technology
@@yester8039 he was taking all aspect shots. If the Winders were Bravo, he would have to position 6 o clock behind the Mig. This makes a huge difference in tactics.
@@tomdtom5407 well, i very much doubt F-4E's would carry Bravos in vietnam outside very early flights where air to air was not even a thing yet, E's most likely
10 out of 12 recent videos are about the F-4. Understandably so, since its the new hype. But about time you show us how to kill it :D
That engagement with you dragging the MiG and the other F-4 nailing him is exactly the kind of thing that they were trying to teach in TOP GUN, because they weren't teaching those basic air combat tactics in the initial training of fighter pilots by the time of Vietnam.
this new f-14E Phantom holy smokes skunk works has ben busy
Hello GS I did asked you last week for MIG17 fight thank you so much for doing this and I hope you can kill one with canon next time thanks again l love your video's keep on great work ❤❤❤
Good to see you carrying bags into a fight. The F-4 was always thirsty if you tapped blower and a no bag ride was always a very short trip.
Ah the all time classic - F-14E Phantom
I think you may have found your new favorite fighter aircraft. Interesting stuff here.
The Phantom really feels like you're flying a brick with a big rocket strapped to it :D
You carry the Spirit of Vati Moelders
Thanks I am wishing to see you try your skill fighting Mig 21s and 17s flying an F8 or am F100
One of the most ironic thing about the AIM-7 is people mostly got 3/1 of 'em still attached to the pylons after RTV/RTB
Man i love Digital COmbat simulator! F14E is a great plane too!
So there was a mig17 that had fox 2 capability but it was a late model
I so do love the MIG 17 it's and outstanding dogfighter
Awesome...!!!
Just love the phantom !!!
Hey GS, could you do bandit unknown videos with the F4E?? And I would also love to see you get some gun kills with it
I would love to see an multicrew F-4E and an A-4E joint strike mission + dogfights, with carrier ops
Hey man. Could you please make a video about whats the best setting ( not the set up ) in dcs?
Now we have the F-4, I'd like to see how Fox-1 & post-merge dogfighting the F-4 while in the Mig-21 works
Didnt know Grumman made a new F-14 looks pretty baller
With the F4s and MIGs being featured heavily any chance of doing a Constant Peg history lesson/dogfight series?
Thanks a lot for your channel that I follow for months, I'm surprised that even modern planes don't have anything to keep them from crashing (sort of GPWS) are their radar fulfilling this task ? Can they fight in a heavy fog in a mountain area, for example ? Would probably look like something in between Dogfight and BVR I suppose ? And if yes, can you go on with that ? (all this to ask that ;-)
Ground Collision Avoidance Systems, very much like GPWS, have been routine since at least the 4th generation of fighters, probably the 3rd too. You hear them activate all the time in his videos. The HUD and other displays flash big Xes and there's either a double rising buzz or a voice bark "Pull up, pull up!"
There is now an Automatic GCAS. It automatically rolls upright and avoids the ground if the pilot isn't making input, usually in a G-force Loss of Consciousness in training. It's been deployed on lots of F-16s since 2014, and Lockheed Martin's PR department claims it's saved 13 lives so far. It was going to be deployed into F-35s in 2019; I assume it was, but I'm not bothering with further research.
GS: I don't want to have to fight 2 migs!! US: But GS those 2 Migs are STILL out numbered by you!!!!!
Every time I see you drop the tanks i wonder if u can use them as a distraction in a dog fight either as a missile defense or to force someone to break off to avoid a collision
Watched this while listening to Meteor's latest album. SO EPIC 🔥
im kind of surprised how easily you mopped up these migs given how tough a 21 was in a previous video.
Flying out with that F-14 Phancat
These early IR missiles are tracking too well if you ask me. I thought the hit rate was like 20% or something like that. These missiles on dcs work 100% of the time.
The 9L/M isn't an Early missile
There are many legends about the evaluation process of F-14. What about a F-4 vs F14 match?
Need some Mig 17 videos
Loved the F-4 such a powerful bird.
in Vietnam almost none of the air to air missiles worked, that's why they put a gun on the F4
This thing is a monster.
God but I love the Rhino. No way I’ve got the brain capacity (or computer) to play DCS, but it sure does look gorgeous.
Is the Cessna A-37 Dragonfly "Super Tweet" available for action?
Could you please do f15 vs su 35 bvr but your in the su 35, id like to see the flankers perspective.
lol the whole air wing owes you a beer
GS surely do F4 vs Mig-19. I think that will provide a big challenge for the f4 in a dogfight because of its insane rate fight and thrust to weight ratio
Patiently waiting for GS to drop the BF3 F-18 mission “Going Hunting”
Bro is loving F-4 Phantom
Could you try doing the backflip maneuver to see if it works on DCS mow that f4 is here?
Could you try something new - create a module status update video specifically related to upcoming REDFOR modules - MIG-17, MIG-23, MIG-29, SU-17/22 and J-8II ??
That pal didn't even drop his tanks, that's so humiliating.
Oh boy, my favorite aircraft, the F-14E
I'd like to see a bomber intercept mission with AIM-7s vs. Tu-95s.
Wondering if we're in a dogfight against MiG-17 is kinda scary though, remembering it has 37mm.
You gonna do any 1v1 guns fights with this thing or what? I want to see what it's got against a mig mano e mano
Ok letss see the F4 vs the F14 please.
75 years of MiG-17 "Fresco" in 2025 and 65 years of F-4 in 2023.
The MiG-17 was actually a very good fighter except for one major problem: anytime you turn on reheat (afterburning) the plane became extremely vulnerable to IR-guided air-to-air missiles.
Looks like a slight uptier
We should get a rematch f-15c vs f-4e
