Same here. When I was grinding hard us tree, I was taking napalm for a single base, full aa load, arrived there before monkeys with a full load of bombs, and switched to fighter role afterwards. Ended up with a 2.1 kd with abysmal 45% win rate because of... reasons
Same here as well. I pack 6 1000lb bombs for taking out a single base alongside A2A loadout of 5 Sparrows and 2 Sidewinders. I got to do both bombing bases and scoring player air kills regularly. I either engage enemy players first on the way to the base or turn back to engage them after successfully bombing a base.
Although im Swedish and only understand a small bit of german hearing "If you actually speak German im sorry its my second least favorite disability" had me rolling on the floor
@@cookiecracker2 not the commenter, but i love the Heatblur f-4e so much for a couple reasons, firstly its the best simulation of a phantom ever, its fairly easy to get into, that even I, who nearly completely new to dcs doesnt have too hard a time learning it due to the documentation and the tutorials available, and because of how dcs is structured, you'll almost never see f-16's, and very rarely mig-29's,unless you choose to, you will instead mostly see other aircraft of a similar era, with similar capabilities in air to air combat
There is no grind in DCS. Its a more immersive experience. You really control an aircraft in DCS, from start up until the very end. But I also like WT when I just want airquake. WT made me love Phantoms and Mig-23s; DCS made me love the F/A-18C Hornet... Only played both initially for the Su-27 and Mig-29; now I feel the need... the need for speed!

Hey! I just want to say that F-4S is one of my favourite fighters in the entire game, I have pretty good KD with, it really is incredible. We exist lol! Btw I really recommend taking 5 Sparrows 2 Sidewinders, that extra 7F, one of the best radar missiles in the game, is easily worth 2 mid IRs. Sometimes when I feel like it I even take 6 Sparrows, unless you are right on the deck Sparrow&F-4S radar can absolutely score kills below 1km in rear aspect :D Anyways great video cheers

I started playing the F4S like a fighter (I never bombed with it I was just scared of radar missiles and 12.3) and I can get kills now but I still struggle, I just can’t evade missiles well or stay at the floor lmao. Great video 10/10
I would play the Phantoms if they could dodge IR missiles. I have so many clips of missiles, just IGNORING flares, no matter if I have the afterburner on or not while pulling like a $50 lot lizard. This thing is TOO HOT!
The more I play the Phantom (specifically the F-4F/F-4F ICE), the more I fall in love with it. It’s a magnificent bird to fly, has good armament and loadouts, familiar playstyle, and, as you said, it’s overall a very fun and forgiving aircraft. Also, I live very close to where the F-4 plant used to be. It’s a shame that Boeing left it abandoned.
I still can't get over the ways two branches of US armed forces deal with how their pilots have trouble dogfighting with the Phantom II. USAF : Make a new Phantom variant incorporate enhancement to improve dogfighting capability. USN : Open a flight school and tell their pilot to git gud.
I honestly hope eventually that after you (eventually) get through the jets and stuff that you continue with the other plane families. I love this series because it mixes game advice with actual historical differences, which.. I'm a nerd so I dig that sh!t.

(4570 pts) For a max income bombs can make sense especially giving the advantage not to arrive first at the furball ^^ especially with the good radar missiles. What ppl dont do is when they see a situation where you have to fight: they often dont drop the bombs away - it can safe you becoming lighter in time. I agree for a best fight performance go full aircombat only but in case your aim is max pts its arguable. sometimes its also fun to just play a mission like thing with bombing and dealing with bandits. love all your plane series, keep it up, really nice quality and very entertaining as well.
I'm sorry but after all the Hype I had for it in DCS and now finally getting it and flying it I can never really look at it in Wart Hunder anymore. I've just been flying it in DCS while the Meteor tracks are playing in the background at full volume every day since it came out XD

After getting clowned on by inferior planes in Vietnam because they didnt know how to dogfight, the USAF started its USAF Weapons School and the navy started the Navy Fighter Weapons School (TOPGUN) to teach pilots how to correctly dogfight. This intense training in the art of dogfighting for pilots, along with new "dogfighter" designs of aircraft after the Phantom, is why more modern aircraft such as the F-16 and F-15 have very impressible combat records.

I honestly don't know where this weird myth comes from, that Germany was "not allowed advanced missiles" and thats why the F-4F doesn't have Sparrows. Thats complete nonsense. It's simply because if budget restrictions. The German government wanted the Phantom but at the time also wanted to save money so the ipted for a downgraded version. They even considered getting rid of it's air-to-air refueling ability and only didn't do that because it actually would have made it more expensive.

I agree for a best fight performance go full aircombat only but in case your aim is max pts its arguable. sometimes its also fun to just play a mission like thing with bombing and dealing with bandits.

The Phantom in Vietnam proves that the USAF can't fly fighters if their lives depended on it.
more precisely, as Robin Olds described in his book, the USAF just didnt teach its pilots how to correctly dogfight back then. After getting clowned on by inferior planes in Vietnam because they didnt know how to dogfight, the USAF started its USAF Weapons School and the navy started the Navy Fighter Weapons School (TOPGUN) to teach pilots how to correctly dogfight.
This intense training in the art of dogfighting for pilots, along with new "dogfighter" designs of aircraft after the Phantom, is why more modern aircraft such as the F-16 and F-15 have very impressible combat records.

Before the extra training the USN had iirc 3 to 1 loss rates in 'nam compared to the AF's 1 to 1 and the navy win rated also saw substantial increase despite never mounting the gun and not seriously using gun pods (neither did the USAF honestly ss it was relegated to be used only by the most experienced pilots iirc).

I honestly don't know where this weird myth comes from, that Germany was "not allowed advanced missiles" and thats why the F-4F doesn't have Sparrows. Thats complete nonsense. It's simply because if budget restrictions. The German government wanted the Phantom but at the time also wanted to save money so the ipted for a downgraded version. They even considered getting rid of it's air-to-air refueling ability and only didn't do that because it actually would have made it more expensive.
