First Impressions on our new Torqueedo 1103 cs electric outboard.
We finally decided to make the move and go electric, leaving behind our old petrol two strokes outboard. Is this electric outboard the wright one for you? It will depend on your cruising style and needs, but for us is definitely what we need.
We sail the greek islands offering sailing trips and instruction onboard our sailing yacht NISI. You can find more about us in our website:

Interesting demo of what seems to be quite a useful little outboard.
Forgive me for asking, but your accent intrigues me. Initially I suspected Scottish, then Scandinavian, but from your website I see you are Spanish. Have you spent much time with Scottish friends, perhaps from Aberdeen since that twang does seem present?

Aye! I spent some time sailing in the Clyde, Scotland. I guess I can’t hide it 😀

Can you angle the tiller up without loosing control?

neemguy81 yes, you can angle it up no problem. I normally lift it up 45º when busy at the dingy for wide turns and it’s ok.

Hi Edward. What I loved the most was how quiet it is. I could go out early in the morning on a busy anchorage no making any noise. Also the fact that didn't have to carry fuel on the boat, not spills refiling. Also, no carburator maintenance.

How long can it go on full charged?

I use it to go ashore from my anchorage, 4 trips a day, 3 to 4 people, polite speed with no wake, and it last about 5 days.... short trips tho.

They are not long lasting & whimpy power- needs to be Improved.

I'm wondering if anyone reading this has any experience using this motor with a heavier boat, like a 1-ton sailboat. I'm wondering if it would be powerful enough when considering tides and currents. I'd appreciate any input!

Yes, I got one to push a Reinell 22. It's adequate to 3-5 knots. But a headwind of 20 knots was really draining the battery quick.

@@neemguy81 The product needs to be revised- it is weak!

Again I only value a demonstration of a motor on a real boat. Even if its only a 12 foot boat. But no test on a bathtub boat. Any motor can shove that little vessel along well

We hugely regret buying our Torqueedo 1103CS Travel. After only 8 weeks the battery packed up and after contacting Torqueedo they said that they could find a replacement battery, rendering my motor useless.
If you want reliability, power, easy maintenance my advice would be to avoid electric motors for the time being.
Oh! Yes, they are quite and mine is now particularly quite.

4 knot tide you're going nowhere, pretty useless.
