Ok. So now I know I've found my new favorite Reactor. Dude. You don't just sit there like a lump nodding your head over the next reaction video trend. You blaze your own path. You break it down. You educate your listeners. You, my friend, deserve all the success you have, and are going to get. I have loved Jimmy Barnes since I was a boy, and had to put up with people telling me hes just a screamer, when he is clearly not. THANK YOU for clarifying his range. As far as Ian Moss goes, in any other band, he'd be the lead. He's had some solo success.
Is there anybody alive illness insane crazy world today-that makes true heartfelt honest music like they used to-the commercialisation the insane greed for money-who are these ridiculous people that called themselves musicians in this day & age I want to know-do your research and learn from history-should you survive 5 years you will be very very lucky+no way you can exist for 50 years like these guys get the f*** out.
I've always loved him singing solitaire, it was a very emotional concert for Andy Durant, Renee, Jimmy, Ian, Broderick, the amazing Mick Pealing, Richard Clapton and so many other Aussie legends all at once on one stage. The look of gratitude, pain and love on Mal Easticks face.
This was a special concert, they called themselves the barking spiders, his voice is beautiful, at the Andy Durant memorial concert he sang solitaire, it was amazing.
The media tended to focus on “bad-boy” Jimmy. It was like a secret club to follow Moss.❣️ I agree his voice is very contemporary now. But then it was all about growling rock ‘n roll.
I saw Cold Chisel years later and like the cameraman i was right in front of Mossy...Wow, he works so hard during a gig, he was covered in sweat after just a couple of songs, great voice and an even better guitarist.
Ian Moss was with Bon Scott's ex wife Irene for a while after they had split up, Bon went to visit her when he returned to Australia and Ian Moss was there Irene said that Bon and Ian drank and talked about music the whole time. I read it in Irene Thornton's book "MY BON SCOTT" it's a brilliant book
@@hollygranger3734 your welcome. The book is a really good read about how she met Bon and there time together. I recommend reading it if you like to read
I saw him in a small bar in Townsville. His hand slipped on the neck of his guitar and he simply continued the song in a different key. Didn't miss a beat. Incredible artist
The exceptionally talented Ian Moss…. Great singer Phenomenal guitarist…. Ian also has a wonderful solo career as well as being part of Cold Chisel…. You need to do some more Of Ian’s Solo stuff…. Tuckers Daughter, Slip Away, Mr Rain, Out of the Fire, Broadway, If Another Day….. great work Again….👍🇦🇺.
Your expression @08:39 when Ian pulls out the descending run is priceless. Check out his solo album 'Soul on 53rd St' which he recorded in the US with a bunch of great soul players. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soul_on_West_53rd You will appreciate his guitar playing & vocals on some soul classics recorded with the original players in a lot of cases. Enjoy! Australian subscriber as of now.
I discovered your channel yesterday, and may I say I haven’t stopped watching since. As an Aussie I give you big props for all the Australian artists you have featured on here. Thank you so much! ❤
I have watched this video and listened to this version from the Barking Spiders album sooooo many times it still gives me goosebumps and spine chills all at once
I felt like he's holding back alot in this performance he is without question a fav singer of mine! His acoustic version of Choir Girl gives me chills.. Amazing performer!!
Ian is amazing. But listen to this song again and appreciate Don Walker’s piano. Not only a great piano player, he was also the brains of the outfit and the key songwriter. But more than happy to sit in the background behind the huge talents of Jimmy and Ian.
My request YaY!!!!! This song was the soundtrack to my time working on the Nullabour at Cocklebiddy roadhouse. Seeing the video clip is a dream come true. I’ve never stopped searching. Your welcome Nick 😆
i still remember the old days in the 70's and 80's , the boys in our semi's, sprinting across the paddock from Adelaide to Perth, turn around and sprint back, having a spell of course along the way.
Anyone that can hang out on stage with Barnsey has to be epic! Yes, they all can sing, was lucky to hear the late Steve Prestwich sing before he passed.
Truely brilliant by Mossy and Don backing him up. I was only just a teenager here. Wish I had of been a bit older. However glad it was recorded, for it was truely great. Chisel has reformed and toured since that time……
Mossy is the most globally under rated performer - a sensational, soul sensitive player & vocalist as good as Al Green & Clapton combined - we've been blessed in Australia with 50 years of Cold Chisel + Mossy & Barnesy solo work - world class, mostly globally missed outside of Oz 🌏🙏🎶💜🌠
Helloo 😁I grew up on Barnsey, have a listen to ‘I’d die to be with you tonight’ you def get a feel for his range in that song..other 2 standouts, in my opinion, Little Darling & ‘No Second Prize’ Also when you’ve got the time have a listen to their album Breakfast at Sweethearts 👌cheers

@@andoletube hmmmm he's very decent but i still don't put him in the Mossy category, he doesn't have iconic solos, nor the blue eyed soul voice, but he's definitely a class act
@@richardkenna149 That's a matter of interpretation. Largely a function of a persons age. I'm guessing you are over 50 years of age, probably closer to 60. That's Mossy's generation. Southern Sons listeners are a generation apart from Cold Chisel listeners. They are largely ignorant of each other. I was born smack bang in the middle of both. To me, they both have iconic solos. They both have extraordinary voices. Their playing style on guitar is surprisingly similar. Vocally, they have the ability to sing each others' music. If they were on a stage together, playing the same song, I would struggle to pick a favourite, much less pick the better musician. And I've seen them both play - a lot!
@@andoletube Correct re my age (57), And I certainly believe that the music of anyone's youth/early music days is what tends to stick with you for most of your life, and we tend to ignore anyone who comes along later. Mossy is the John Farnham of the guitar . He is LOVED in Australia. Not Jimmy Barnes. I'd say Mossy is the Best musicians of Cold Ghisel. Mossy is one of the all time greats
Oh lord !! ... Ian Moss made love to that song !!!!!!!! ... so spoilt in Australia !!! 🥰
Ian Moss is not a guitarist that can sing or a singer that can play guitar, he is a phenomenal singer and guitarist.
Totally agree. I loved his solo music as well.
Very much so, Dave. He'd be lead vocals in any other band.
Yes, absolutely. Mossy is a brilliant musician and singer. My favourite version of this beautiful song.
Yeah Mate !
He made that guitar weep!
Surely one of the greatest live guitar solos?
Ian Moss is soo under rated!!!!!!
Best band in the world 💯 🤙 Cold Chisel

Fuckin oath mate. They are helping me get through a breakup. Every song
Maps a pathway to emotional development
Thanks mate, I hope you get through it ok. Good luck brother. A DC are the biggest band from Aus, But chisel could always do more different styles.
One of the greatest performances of all time. Ian and his guitar as one. Very very rare.
This has been one performance that continually moves me. It brings tears it us just so good. 40 yrs been listening to this & it still stops me
Another fun fact: Before Cold Chisel, Don Walker was a physicists working on weapons research for the Australian Government.
cold chisels rocks period so many great songs
I think the term your looking for is a timeless voice. It would sound good in any era.
Mossy is an absolute legend - but you already know that 😊 Hard to believe he was only 28 or so here; such a masterful performance 👏

Ian Moss, is an amazing artist. One of Australia's very best.

That was very soothing. And soulful. I love him!
