Kudos to our African brothers and sisters from India👍 Christianity was imposed on us also during colonial rule. Although they were not completely successful because of our strong Hindu roots. Even today Hinduism is the dominant religion in India with 80% of Indians being Hindu. Still Christian missionaries gets foreign funding to convert weaker section of Indian Hindus bcoz they're easy targets. Like these missionaries are quite active in remote areas of India amongst tribal people. They give various kind of temptations to these poor people to convert them.

But I don't follow that, reason being Christianity was formally made a state religion of Ethiopia around 4th century or late 3rd century by King Ezana the first king to be converted to Christianity. This tells that there was a conversion , and if there was a conversion logic tells me that before there was certain believe system. Which my question is about. I thought Chrsitianity, the way it is understood generally, is here to change all individual spiritualities to only one, since we are all created by one God, I.e being born again...why now would we claim Africanism? Our oppression has been so structured and consistent, but we have to really take concrete actions to make positive and long lasting change to make sure our people understand what it will take to liberate ourselves. We have to indeed free our minds from the mental slavery that so many of us are still entangled in. Why do we find it so hard to work with each other? So many important subjects have been dealt with in this video that this commenter finds it a bit strenuous to identify any single issue to comment on. But while each of the points that have been brooded upon is in fact highly appropriate, and while General Thau Thau has competently shed much light on the historical development of “Rastafarianism”, as labeled by the host, it might be helpful to place the Rastafarian Movement within a broader philosophical context so as to arrive at a more profound understanding of the phenomenon properly called RASTAFARI. As the General correctly notes, the Movement derived its genesis in the ghettoes of Kingston, Jamaica as a response to the systemic racial oppression which was and probably still is the order of the day in that country. But because every new social movement, whether religious or political, emerges as a derivative of its antecedent institution, and because the majority of converts to RASTAFARI grew up within a Judeo-Christian milieu, the fact that a number of Christological doctrines have crept into the fledgling Rastafarian philosophy should not come as a surprise to anyone. The situation becomes even more complex by the Christian upbringing of His Imperial Majesty (HIM) Emperor Haile Selassie I who is recognized as one of the cornerstones of the movement. It is instructive to note, too, that RASTAFARI has been around for less than a century. And so, the Movement could be considered as still being at the stage of infancy when compared to Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Christianity, Marxism/Leninism, and other great social institutions that have been in existence for thousands of years. Thus, as has been the case in the past, it will take some time for RASTAFARI to sever the apron strings of preceding institutions and develop a comprehensive system of ideas that would enable it to represent the best interests of its adherents and the rest of humanity. Meanwhile, RASTAFARI could be characterized as a dialectical synthesis of the lives and teachings of the Right Honorable Marcus Mosiah Garvey, HIM, President Kwame Nkrumah, Malcolm X, and so many of the other enlightened BLACK thinkers and musicians like Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Black Stalin, and Lucky Dube who advocated the urgency of AFRICAN UNITY and other aspirations espoused by HIM. For example, HIM espoused the idea of a NEW WORLD ORDER in which "THE BASIC HUMAN RIGHTS WOULD BE GUARANTEED TO ALL WITHOUT REGARD TO RACE". Still, as General Thau Thau has emphasized, such ideals could the realized only through a new kind of AFRICAN MINDSET. And the only way in which the requisite mindset could be cultivated would be by means of a vehicle that is purposely designed to articulate the COLLECTIVE experience, hopes, and aspirations of the AFRICAN PEOPLE. Needless to say, the only medium that currently shows any potential for successfully taking up this task is RASTAFARI.

I do not know much about Rastafari except the teachings which are normally sung in the beautiful Reggae tunes, but from all that I have heard I can also attest that Rastafari teaches love and a lot of positivity compared to what is generally observed. So you are right, Rastafari is still young. Yes, the originality of it can sometimes warrant criticism (a religion that criticizes the Christianity while still abiding by the Bible) but it is still growing. I am confident that over time a lot of the practices will continue to be refined and Rastafari will exist as this powerful and positive movement that is not an alternative something else. With respect to the subjects of RASTAFARI, Christianity, and Spiritualism, this commenter agrees with General Thau Thau that there are three important tasks that must be urgently addressed by every adherent of RASTAFARI. Every Rastafarian Brethren and Sistren must recognize that the Rastafarian Movement is very much in its formative years and that the fate of the Movement lies in the hands of each and every one of us. Accordingly, we must try to be sufficiently open-minded to confront the issues now associated with the fledgling Movement and ask ourselves how we could positively help in shaping the corpus of ideas that would incorporate the Philosophy of RASTAFARI. It is equally important that we all recognize that RASTAFARI is moving along a path of developing its own identity rather than just remaining a mere derivative of Christianity or just a radicalized black version of Christianity. Thirdly, while RASTAFARI is inherently spiritual in character, the Movement should never be regarded or treated as just another religious organization. As The General has noted, RASTAFARI is "a way of life". And because "religion" could be best defined as "a vain attempt to institutionalize spirituality", such a concept could never be regarded as sufficiently encompassing the purpose of the Movement. Thus, the only concept that might sufficiently convey the nature of RASTAFARI must be "Philosophy". It is true that His Imperial Majesty (HIM) Emperor Haile Selassie I was brought up as a Christian and that he was even spoken of as “Defender of the (Christian) Faith”. It is true that The Right Hon. Marcus Mosiah Garvey was a devout Christian. It is also worth noting that all of the founding fathers of RASTAFARI, including Lenard Howell, Archibald Dunkley, Joseph Hibbert, and the founders of The Nyabinghi Order, The House of Bobo Shanti, and The Twelve Tribes of the House of Israel had not arrived at the point of severing the navel strings of RASTAFARI from Christianity. Even so, HIM had always placed a high premium on the need for enlightenment. And so, because an ENLIGHTENED MIND could never become knowledgeable of the intent behind the founding of Christianity by Saul of Tarsus (aka The Apostle Paul), the Roman Emperor Constantine I, and King James I of England while continuing to bask in the glory of Christianity and the Bible, every Rastafarian must be willing to recognize that Christianity was and is antithetical to the aspirations of anyone who yearns for a better world. Hence, the need for a new WORLD ORDER, as advocated by HIM, and which a growing number of Rastafarians are convinced is becoming increasingly manifested through the phenomenon of RASTAFARI, and which could only be more properly articulated through the kind of international conferences advocated by GENERAL THAU THAU.

The first person to answer my long-held question regarding why there are no shrines for the almighty God since there is a claim of knowledge of Him within the African cosmology. This makes perfect sense. However, I do not agree that there is no element of worship in African spirituality. The problem may be around the definition of "worship". In Paul's treatment of the matter in Romans 1, he points out this problem of knowledge of God without the due worship and reverence that must necessarily come from the creator and creature relationship. It would be interesting to hear the grandmaster's view on how man came into existence, what his purpose is and what the relationship between creator and creature must be. Pan Africanism: I also think the approach to the treatment of the rest of Africa is sad. I now understand the source of the xenophobia. Your approach must result in the dismantling of our countries as they are into small nations based on ethnicity because they were defined by colonialism. I am not sure that supports the pan africanist agenda for a united Africa. Perhaps we should isolate South Africa again and see how things pan out. I agree with Grandmaster that Western Christianity is an exclusivist anti-African construct but the actual teachings found in the scriptures are highly influenced by Khemet. Kudos to our African brothers and sisters from India👍 Christianity was imposed on us also during colonial rule. Although they were not completely successful because of our strong Hindu roots. Even today Hinduism is the dominant religion in India with 80% of Indians being Hindu. Still Christian missionaries gets foreign funding to convert weaker section of Indian Hindus bcoz they're easy targets. Like these missionaries are quite active in remote areas of India amongst tribal people. They give various kind of temptations to these poor people to convert them.

Our oppression has been so structured and consistent, but we have to really take concrete actions to make positive and long lasting change to make sure our people understand what it will take to liberate ourselves. But while each of the points that have been brooded upon is in fact highly appropriate, and while General Thau Thau has competently shed much light on the historical development of “Rastafarianism”, as labeled by the host, it might be helpful to place the Rastafarian Movement within a broader philosophical context so as to arrive at a more profound understanding of the phenomenon properly called RASTAFARI. As the General correctly notes, the Movement derived its genesis in the ghettoes of Kingston, Jamaica as a response to the systemic racial oppression which was and probably still is the order of the day in that country. But because every new social movement, whether religious or political, emerges as a derivative of its antecedent institution, and because the majority of converts to RASTAFARI grew up within a Judeo-Christian milieu, the fact that a number of Christological doctrines have crept into the fledgling Rastafarian philosophy should not come as a surprise to anyone. The situation becomes even more complex by the Christian upbringing of His Imperial Majesty (HIM) Emperor Haile Selassie I who is recognized as one of the cornerstones of the movement. It is instructive to note, too, that RASTAFARI has been around for less than a century. And so, the Movement could be considered as still being at the stage of infancy when compared to Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Christianity, Marxism/Leninism, and other great social institutions that have been in existence for thousands of years. Thus, as has been the case in the past, it will take some time for RASTAFARI to sever the apron strings of preceding institutions and develop a comprehensive system of ideas that would enable it to represent the best interests of its adherents and the rest of humanity. Meanwhile, RASTAFARI could be characterized as a dialectical synthesis of the lives and teachings of the Right Honorable Marcus Mosiah Garvey, HIM, President Kwame Nkrumah, Malcolm X, and so many of the other enlightened BLACK thinkers and musicians like Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Black Stalin, and Lucky Dube who advocated the urgency of AFRICAN UNITY and other aspirations espoused by HIM. For example, HIM espoused the idea of a NEW WORLD ORDER in which "THE BASIC HUMAN RIGHTS WOULD BE GUARANTEED TO ALL WITHOUT REGARD TO RACE". Still, as General Thau Thau has emphasized, such ideals could the realized only through a new kind of AFRICAN MINDSET. And the only way in which the requisite mindset could be cultivated would be by means of a vehicle that is purposely designed to articulate the COLLECTIVE experience, hopes, and aspirations of the AFRICAN PEOPLE. Needless to say, the only medium that currently shows any potential for successfully taking up this task is RASTAFARI.

I do not know much about Rastafari except the teachings which are normally sung in the beautiful Reggae tunes, but from all that I have heard I can also attest that Rastafari teaches love and a lot of positivity compared to what is generally observed.
So you are right, Rastafari is still young. Yes, the originality of it can sometimes warrant criticism (a religion that criticizes the Christianity while still abiding by the Bible) but it is still growing. I am confident that over time a lot of the practices will continue to be refined and Rastafari will exist as this powerful and positive movement that is not an alternative something else. Even so, HIM had always placed a high premium on the need for enlightenment. And so, because an ENLIGHTENED MIND could never become knowledgeable of the intent behind the founding of Christianity by Saul of Tarsus (aka The Apostle Paul), the Roman Emperor Constantine I, and King James I of England while continuing to bask in the glory of Christianity and the Bible, every Rastafarian must be willing to recognize that Christianity was and is antithetical to the aspirations of anyone who yearns for a better world. Hence, the need for a new WORLD ORDER, as advocated by HIM, and which a growing number of Rastafarians are convinced is becoming increasingly manifested through the phenomenon of RASTAFARI, and which could only be more properly articulated through the kind of international conferences advocated by GENERAL THAU THAU.

Having spoken with the angels and humans about the Israel land location situation. Though on a compass it would be classed as NE Africa, as water does not pass around all of its sides. Would it not be best to open that entire area as a thorough-through only. People living there to choose whether they live N, S, E, W of that land mass area and only through-passage to be continued. It is unfair for those who were the original inhabitants for centuries, and those who have since moved to that location. However, so many people are being hurt by that small land mass. Best it be used as a thorough-through to other nation states, at no or a minimal/small fee. This would surely lessen the amount of damage near far and wide that people suffer because of it.

The first person to answer my long-held question regarding why there are no shrines for the almighty God since there is a claim of knowledge of Him within the African cosmology. This makes perfect sense. However, I do not agree that there is no element of worship in African spirituality. The problem may be around the definition of "worship". In Paul's treatment of the matter in Romans 1, he points out this problem of knowledge of God without the due worship and reverence that must necessarily come from the creator and creature relationship. It would be interesting to hear the grandmaster's view on how man came into existence, what his purpose is and what the relationship between creator and creature must be.
Pan Africanism:
I also think the approach to the treatment of the rest of Africa is sad. I now understand the source of the xenophobia. Your approach must result in the dismantling of our countries as they are into small nations based on ethnicity because they were defined by colonialism. I am not sure that supports the pan africanist agenda for a united Africa. Perhaps we should isolate South Africa again and see how things pan out. When you become a free nation, you are open to all the ills of human existence. To suggest that South Africans do not commit any crimes is sad. If Africans didn't come in, others will. Hopefully, you would like that better. The solution to crime is law enforcement, regardless of who is committing them. And no, Africa won't be free if you reject your brothers and point to their failings like you have none of your own. I was going to visit South Africa soon. You helped change my mind. I agree with Grandmaster that Western Christianity is an exclusivist anti-African construct but the actual teachings found in the scriptures are highly influenced by Khemet.
The supposed Moses was schooled by Khemet as a prince and Christ's life story is undoubtedly in lockstep with Ausar and Heru.
