I would LOVE to see a breakdown like this of their song The Hollow. The harmony during the chorus is just unreal. SO captivating....starting with that kinda twinkly descending motif, followed by these chiming long notes that give the whole thing an almost shoegaze tone....like if My Bloody Valentine wrote an alternative rock/metal tune....
Amazing how in a single song he put so much creativity in those guitar parts. From the pedal used to increase feedback, to the alternate use of the two pickups or the very cool section when he use the tone knob or a different univibe sound...AMAZING!
I've always had a much higher appreciation for creativity and emotional strength in musicianship than technical proficiency and speed, although B.H. is clearly a very skilled player. Keep in mind he's more of a tech than a virtuoso, and it shows with his brilliant tones and effects choices.

A big thank you to Billy Howerdel, who graciously took his time and cast off the insecurities that many of the greatest guitarists have, to show us this really fantastic and inspirational song that kept me grooving down the street while I was living and working in Den Haag , Holland, so very far from my family and friends.
