    I'm 4 weeks away from being a father and actually have my baby shower in a couple hours here..so this really hit home for me. I won't lie I got a little teary eyed. Those kids are fantastic enjoy the hobby you wonderful family!

    I have a family, we fly, and we are not rich. So for us it's the same thing, but most of our goodies come from Hobbyking and not Horizon. We use Turnigy 9XR radios at $50 a pop (so same capability as a DX9 or 18 but no $800 price tag, so my 5x 9XR radios with 16 channel mixers each, cost together less than a single DX6). Supporting 5 flyers in a family has made me thankful... (NO... GREATFUL!!!) for things like Hobbyking! My daughter has even gotten to where she is flying Twisted Hobbys stuff now, but like he mentioned in the video, we fix em together and it all works out in the end. We may spend a lot, but it is nowhere near what people think we do on RC. As long as there is Dollar Tree foam, Folks like Josh showing us what to do with it, and someone like Hobbyking providing cheap electronics, we will all be flying.
    And on that note, I like the ability to actually GIVE away a few planes and helicopters to friends too. I wouldn't do that with truly expensive things, but have given some complete helis, quads and even a plane to friends and family, and since then most of them have come with us to the flying field later.
    Regardless, the important part is go do stuff with your kids while you have em.

      Yes the kids are way better then I ever will be. What kind of plane are those and wet can you buy them I think that would be something my grandkids would like to try.

  • @bacyddrewski

    I have a 4 year old son that always asks to fly my quadcopters, but with their value and expertise in use, I always feel bad telling him no, not till he's older. But about a month ago, I bought him a rc boat for his birthday (also one for me, both our first boats) and they are very easy and fun to use. He's been enjoying going out to the lake every time and has been picking up quickly how to use the transmitter since it's a lot easier to use then a two stick transmitter. After watching this I'll be considering a small foam airplane for his first flyer. I like the Magnum that was being flown. Looks like a good starter plane.

    • @kadenmiller7724
      @kadenmiller7724 9 лет назад +2

      A good starter plane would be a small sail plane with a propeller

    • @MyAvitech
      @MyAvitech 9 лет назад

      Andrew Florian Maybe get him one of those micro quads. They're cheap and durable, and sooner than you think, he will be ready for the more expensive ones.

    • @krompircekarticoka9677
      @krompircekarticoka9677 9 лет назад

      If he's into quads why don't you buy him one? I started with UFO intruder X10. It has on board camera that is easy to use. You can do flips and all sorts of things. But mostly is very durable. That's what i think (: I'm buying the new DJI 3 next month!! Yey. (Hope you understand my broken English :/)

    • @krompircekarticoka9677
      @krompircekarticoka9677 9 лет назад

      Ohhh and it's cheap. I think 150€. :)

      Avi Tech micro quads sound like a good idea.
      matija hedl that's still a little too advanced for him. Right now I'm trying to teach him stick relativity, but it's been taking some time for him to grasp the concept. But thanks for the input, I have looked into that quad too

    I am 16 , i have been flying since i was 8 , my Dad taught me from the start , i then got a Bronze certificate (in the UK you have to have a Bronze certificate (or a B) to fly if you are in a club) i now have a Bronze + which is an aerobatic certificate , I fly mostly Nitro models ( what i learned to fly on) Aerobatic , Vintage and Scale models

    • @maroplested8489
      @maroplested8489 9 лет назад +1

      Who is the Bronze certificate with because that isnt part of the bmfa is it. I am fourteen but have my B been flying now for about three years and started with supercub lp so it isn't interesting where all people start

    • @masonjordan968
      @masonjordan968 9 лет назад +2

      The SAA ( Scottish Aero Modelling Association , if i remember right i got my bronze when i was about 11 and my Bronze plus when i was 14 , Anyway its good to see other young people who fly , When you are at school do you ever get people who think it is just small toy planes that you fly ? And people try to use it as something to take the mick out of you ? If so , been there , done that

    • @maroplested8489

    Im glad the sport is easier to get into now. I remember my father getting started with a foam winged, PVC bodied trainer with a aluminum tail spar. Then some years later we built a Kadet LT-40 together for me to start learning on. Seems like forever ago, standing side by side with a buddystick linking controllers.

    I remember when I first started flying when I was 4. An electric control liner started me off and then a good old foam cub. I can still remember the day my dad brought a Ben Buckle Novice kit home and we built it and flew it. Sweet memories.

I mean I flew 20 to 30 LBS planes before as long as someone is close to me . But landing one of those heavy planes is not fun at all . Now i have every Eflight micro horizon had put out ,

    Hey FliteTest I have a crazy idea of a hybrid model of a plane and a quad copter. The fuselage will be big and fat like a cargo jet, that being so the quad motor links can fold out from the fuselage and have a thick large wing over the top and to have a drop zone some where under the belly for either bomb doors or fpv camera setup. It would be cool to see you guys maybe try and build something like this?

      Yeah, you might have a chance. I make like 10 dollars a week and in about 5 weeks I got a plane that cost 50 dollars It was 3 channel but it was not for beginners but I saved for about 3 years and now I'm getting a real beginner plane one,
