I think American voice actors have a bit of trouble deciphering "Kiya/Kya" and other grunting noises. Largely due to them being like.. not how people talk
@@stickitydoodahJust make a barely audible "K" like sound while starting to scream. At least, that's my theory. It's kinda like "GAAAAAAAAHHHHH" but you produce the "ga" sound on the back of the throat and it's barely audible.
@@iiraingirlii because old English dubs of Japanese giant monster movies were really cheesy and bad and they were given like no time to voice all the lines so they just made em bad in a very funny way and they did a fantastic job

This is why I like this game. It is practically a Godzilla movie. Bad voice acting, stereotypical German Scientist, clunky controls. It all fits together for fans of the bad dubbing of the Godzilla movies. I honestly hope the bad voice acting was done on purpose because of that.
@@michaelteppner6749 The funny thing is... I feel R.A.D. is one of those games that 110% accomplished what it set out to do. It was a glorious homage to a style and Era of media and captured it with superb accuracy. While we my not be as numerous as other fandoms, R.A.D. definitely has a loving group of fan who appreciate the core of what the game represents.
Actually it's the same guy who drew the characters for Cowboy Bebop. Fun bit about Ghost Stories, the anime company that sold the rights to ADV told them they could do whatever as long as it didn't fully affect the story. ADV just let the voice actors do whatever.

If everybody was voiced by family members, there must have been an argument and that was the way to get back at the sound director. That voice is so lifeless and monotone a normal person couldn't emulate it even if effort was put into sounding that awful.
The three-second pauses between each line of dialogue, combined with terrible writing, and boring subject matter are what push this voice acting from 'bad' to 'terrible'.
On top of that, why do they feel the need to glue a still image of the character onto the top of the textbox, when the character's fully-animated body and perfectly-expressive portrait are both totally right there

Its not even that bad. They’re just reading the lines provided. If you’re gonna blame anyone, blame the director who’s supposed to be supervising them and making sure the lines sound good.
Yup, at a certain point you can get grenades your character can throw. The are even effective against the Volgara in certain episodes. I used to use the tank mech in tank mode and while the Volgara just walked into the mech I'd chuck grenades till it was destroyed.

This is why I like this game. It is practically a Godzilla movie. Bad voice acting, stereotypical German Scientist, clunky controls. It all fits together for fans of the bad dubbing of the Godzilla movies. I honestly hope the bad voice acting was done on purpose because of that.

It was a glorious homage to a style and Era of media and captured it with superb accuracy.
While we my not be as numerous as other fandoms, R.A.D. definitely has a loving group of fan who appreciate the core of what the game represents.

Actually it's the same guy who drew the characters for Cowboy Bebop.
Fun bit about Ghost Stories, the anime company that sold the rights to ADV told them they could do whatever as long as it didn't fully affect the story. ADV just let the voice actors do whatever.

Yup, at a certain point you can get grenades your character can throw. The are even effective against the Volgara in certain episodes. I used to use the tank mech in tank mode and while the Volgara just walked into the mech I'd chuck grenades till it was destroyed.
