- NBA 2k15 made the decision to have real NBA players do voice acting for the MyCareer mode. Most of the players did fine, but this video highlights the players that should not have been hired.

That is done automatically with a script. It detects the sounds and attempts to animate in sync. So, not a manual process.

Spot on. You have to wonder what the director was thinking. Did they try to get the players to memorize their lines and then work with them to get them to put some emotion into it? You can deliver a memorized line far better than one you are reading off a page. Either the director was cutting corners to save time or they legit tried to get these players to memorize the lines and eventually gave up, lol.

Under-appeciated in all this is the way jerseys yank downwards at 1:08 and 2:19, when a cutscene responds to a player's choice. The voice acting is platinum tier, but that clothing rigging is also 10/10.

I was like “these dudes can’t even read” that’s when Gordon Hayward was in the team. You’d be talking to the players before the game on the sneak, and after a conversation be like “I regret that shxt and I feel like I just lost brain cells”
Theres something amazing about how eric gordon gave an award level performance compared to everyone else just by being understandable lmao
