Why Flights Are Being Cancelled At Record Rate

  • What’s causing record flight cancellations? Corporate fraud. Airlines pushed out 56,000 workers, then sold thousands of flights they KNEW they couldn’t service & waited until the last minute to cancel on passengers.
Pete Buttigieg can stop it. When will he act?

I used to fly a lot, but stopped all but the most necessary flights after 911. Going through multiple TSA lines wasn't my idea of a relaxing vacation. I found regional flights actually took more time than driving with the requirement to get to the airport two or even three hours early to make sure I could check luggage and go through the TSA added to the flight time and getting where I needed to go at the other end. Add these new delays and cancellations, and I'm surprised anyone flies at all now.

This behavior of the airline industry of not being honest with the consumer is going to come back to hunt this industry if it doesn’t do right by the consumer. It’s very concerning to hear that these pilots are pretty much overworked/overwhelmed - not a good thing at all; that the FAA outsource to foreign suppliers/ countries; and to charge a parent to sit next to their child? Really? Absolutely ridiculous. This should be done away with ESPECIALLY with all the child sex offenders.

Last time I flew was right before the pandemic first hit, and they were pretty adamant about making sure that flight flew, flew on time, and was in good condition to do so.
Then again, that flight was with Air New Zealand, so I suppose that much higher quality and commitment should have been expected, given that it was not an American-owned airline. Glad I made sure to find something other than United, American, or Delta when I was booking my flight to New Zealand.

The amount of misinformation here, alarming to say the least. Then to ask the Brandon administration to actually step in and help, laughable.

And no one talks about, 'If you don't put a jab in your veins, you were fired'. I wouldn't go back to a company that did that to me.

Yup. This part. Many were between a rock and a hard place. Take something you didn't want or quit. I stayed without taking it but also got charged 200 a month as a penalty. Stuff they don't tell you. Also Delta didn't force any workers out by furlough they offered buyouts and temperate leaves. It was all voluntary. And at This point in time we currently have a call out rate of 25 percent. We have a massive amount of FAs not working their scheduled trips. And it's not all covid as they would like to blame. This is not only a higher up issue but the employees themselves are adding fuel to the fire by not even showing up. This channel is highly skewed. Always more to these stories they conveniently leave out.
