Great video! You can also use acetone on the seam to "melt" the tip, blending it without filing! :)
Yes, that's much easier. Thanks for sharing!
Oh, wow! What a great idea!
This is the best technique I have seen to attach nail tips to your natural nails. Thanks for sharing!
+Peggy Rogers my pleasure :)
What nail tips are you using?
They were full well natural tips from essential nails I think. Xo
This is the best video I've saw!!! Perfect!! Great job thank you♥️♥️
Your tips are so precise , can you do a video on how to shape almond and pointy almond nails? Your video was so mapped out I got my nail shaping down finally??
+Ebony Painter hi :) thank you
Yes, I will do that video next! Thabks for the suggestion :)
U can use acetone to wipe no need to buff
Thank you so much, everyone uses clear tips now urgh
Love the video. Thank you. Do you perhaps have a video where you teach how to shape and have even length nails with all 10 nails?
Hiya, thanks for the comment. I don't have a video for that. But what I do is place the file underneath the free edge, up against the finger tip. Make a mark on the file where the end of the nail is and go along all the rest to see if they are the same length.
@@NailswithCourtneyCrosbie That's an awesome trick. Thank you. I will definitely try that!!!
could you use a regular clear nail polish on top of it? like is it necessary to use some sort of acrylic or gel on top of it?
Hiya, you can use regular polish on top, but it's not going to last very long and could cause damage to your nail underneath when it breaks. I have done them with just gel polish before, as just a weekend set. If you'd like instant length but no enhancements you should try full cover tips. They would suit your needs better. X
Acetone
Thank you so much this video was so helpful ❤️ it
What’s the next steps
Nect you would prime and apply the product you're using to build your structure. Acrylic or gel or polygel or whatever. :)
Is it better to file in one direction
It makes little difference. Whatever you find easiest. X
Nails don't come off if not done by acrylics
Quianna Parnell I'm sorry I don't understand your comment.
Think she's trying to say the tips will come off if they don't have acrylic overlay....true?
Hi! Late to the party with this vid. I’m having trouble blending enough to stop the lump showing through the gel where the well is, causing a “muffin top” nail.
I noticed you used 2 files and a buffing block as well. What grit do you use for each step please? And are both the finer file and white buffing block essential?
Thanks
Hi! I forget what I used here as its probably more than 5 years ago I posted this.
Now, I would reccomend starting the blend with a 180 grit file to remove the bulk of the tip. Feather the umblended free edge section to the welled blended section so that it flows gradually. Then use a buffing block to finish until its an invisible blend. Make sure you're using a decent buffer, not a cheap rubbish one or an old used one. Hope that makes sense xx
For anyone who doesnt have gel or acrylic you can use white fabric the glue will turn it clear
Very helpful
thank you 😌
Thank you, really good video and really well explained, much appreciated x
Thank you. I'm so glad you found it useful 😊
For some reason the Audio is messed up for me anyone else?
Sounds fine to me 🤔
@@NailswithCourtneyCrosbie maybe my head's phones are broken
@@NailswithCourtneyCrosbie it was at the start it might just be my head phones slowly breaking
@@NailswithCourtneyCrosbie I bought knew head phones now it sounds fine
I don't have one of those block thingies... Is that a problem?
Yea, you'll need a buffing block. They're very cheap on ebay. Xo
When my nails grow out to a comfortable length, (right now they've been torn past the nubs and thin asf, thanks to my friend telling me its a good idea to rip off full on acrylics, spoiler alert: bad idea,) I'll probably do this, lol. I've been trying to apply tips for weeks now, this seems like the best method yet. Thanks for sharing. :)
You used a lint-free wipe to clean up excess glue from seam of natural nail. Moistened with acetone, alcohol, or non-acetone polish remover? TFS
I didn't moisten it with anything I don't think. Just a quick swipe of the dry L. F. wipe you could use acetone tho. Thatd probably work better. Lol
Hi I would really like to know what kind of tips you used in this video please
sheila carter hiya, these are full welled tips from essential nails xx
Love it 😍
How do I take it off after polishing then
*them
you will need to soak them in acetone.
can we for the tip before gluing?
+Dana Aerys You should always glue the tip on the nail before cutting it or blending it. Each finger is different so you'll get more even results this way x
why do you use the full well tips? why do you prefer them?
It is what I originally trained on, and I find they give the most natural look when blended like this. If I'm just going to paint the nails, I would use half welled.
@@NailswithCourtneyCrosbie Oh that is so helpful, what do you think about using the acetone instead of filing?
@@heatherkellman3431 I tried the acetone and it does help, but I found that I still had to file quite a bit to get that natural finish I was after. It definitely eliminated the buffing though!
Also with colored tips it's hard to blend the seam without removing the color from the tip
Hi RiRi Ray! I have used colored tips in the past. But they are a little bit outdated now. You don't need to blend the seam on them, you only need to lightly buff the surface with a white/orange block. If you're using acrylic, you don't need to buff it, but with gel, it needs to be buffed. Xx
thank you but if you don't blend in the seam you see it you know that line that goes across I hate that! I regret buying so many of them now
RiRi Ray yea, I think that's why they fell out of fashion. You could always cover them in glitter ;)
Will this technique work for nail tips that cover the whole nail?
Mia Thompson not really, if you're using a full cover tip you don't need to blend it and you don't need to apply a hard gel or acrylic over it anyways.
Nails with Courtney Crosbie i did anyways 😂😂 just to be safe, it looks ok too me. But thank you
Mia Thompson it won't hurt :)
How to remove these tips from your nail?
Samania Kkk these need soaked off in acetone. Xo
Nails with Courtney Crosbie thx I was considered cuz I’m doing my nails soon and using tips and don’t know how to take it off when I do them
Darling were i by those tips.? Thanks for teaching us. Kisses
Hello :) they are from essential nails.com I can't seem to bring up the website on my connection though! They're called Full well natural tips Xo thanks for watching!
@@NailswithCourtneyCrosbie thanks sweety
Can I just put nail polish on the tips ?
anja bronic you can, but they will break easily.
Nails with Courtney Crosbie tnx😘❤️😘❤️
What grade of files do you use please.
Melanie English hi! My black files are 100 grit on one side, and 180 grit on the other. The white file I use is a really high (fine) grit. I think it's probably 240. Xx
Do you ever use color tips? I got a whole bunch at Sallys beauty supply I don't know if they are good for gel
