I wish I would have known about letting the ball of gel do the work by dragging it down the center before. That was just too easy. lol. Now I can be much faster. Thank you for this video
I’m trained in hard gels as well as acrylic, but my clients have never wanted hard gel so I’m super out of practice. I really think I’m going to formulate a plan to get more gel clients in the new year.
Thank you for your video! My nail tech has been using this same technique since gel nails first became available in salons many years ago, except she builds the apex over the actual stress points a little more toward the free edge in Zone 2 than yours appears to be. The center line of gel just makes more sense and is very effective.
I bloody love you!!! I've been practising and practising and couldn't get it.. I've watched this.. I've done a practice nail and it's worked!! Thank youuuuuuuuuuu 💗💗💗💗💗
Every salon I go to in America (except when I lived in California) these asian women in Texas nail salons do not KNOW how to do an APEX. It is sad. I trust no one with my hair and nails. You did a WONDERFUL JOB.
I’m having a hard time trying to make my builder gel be perfectly smooth. Often times the texture of the surface is bumpy and when you look at it in the light the unevenness is so apparent. I will use this strategy next time!
I just paid quite a bit to have gel extensions. She glued a tip on and brushed gel over. No apex was built--bummer! I just thought pro nail techs did that. :( Thanks for the tutorial--if I'm ever able to get my hands on gel, not being a professional, I'll revisit your tut and follow your advice! :)
Ah no, that is a bummer. Try to be gentle with them so they don't break and take your nail with it. There's quite a few gels you can buy without a qualification, if you ever need help, just give me a shout :) xo
I forgot that apexes are actually functional, not just a style preference (apexes are my favorite part of the extension look!) . Thank you for your advice to be gentle--I've never had extensions on for any amount of time, so I may not have been as careful as I need to be. xo
Do I cure one nail at a time? I tried this earlier but 2 of my nails ran while I was doing my thumb! :( is there a way of just slightly curing each nail to keep the apex and then blasting them all in one go for 2 mins? X
emilylcwearn hiya, yea you need to cure it straight away. Do it for ten seconds and it will be hard enough so you can do the next one. Then when you're all done, you can cure them all for the full time xo
+RiRi Ray hiya, I've only made a video for tipping and blending. I don't have any nails to demonstrate proper prep because I have been oiling mine like a mad woman trying to heal them after removing (ripping off) my acrylics. My mom is visiting next week though, so if she has some cuticles, I will make a full prep video xx
nail tutorials with Courtney Crosbie great thanks! I have really red natural nail beds is that from over filing or could it be acid primer (no lift nails)
+RiRi Ray it is more than likely from over filing, but I will tell you that in the instructions on the no lift nails primer, it says not to use it more than 6 times ( or 5. I can't remember) on the same client. So, if you're doing infills and applying it to fresh grown nail only. It's OK. But applying it to the same section of natural nail over and over again is going to thin it out. That's what acid primer does. It slightly corrodes the nail surface making it rough.
shihtzuluvr two hi! For this video I used a very cheap brand from Ali express. I think it was 3 pounds for a whole pot. As I'm only using it for videos, I don't want to waste expensive products. I recommend the gel from www.essentialnails.com they don't have a huge selection, so if you're looking for more colors etc... I recommend the gels from www.missubeautynetwork.com 😘

Hey, I've only just seen this! Have you formulated a plan? Been practicing? Xo
I hope you still do gel, this might have been 5 yrs ago but people should like them now :)))
This was the easiest explanation of how to build an apex. Thank you. I cant wait to try it on myself
Great to hear. Hope you have mastered it by now!
This is hands down one of my favourite no nonsense apex videos! An apex to die for!
Thank you. 😊 it's an oldie but a goodie for sure!
Best hard gel tutorial I’ve seen! Great job and thank you for sharing!
Sasha Rovaldi thank you for the positive feedback! 😘
I love your gel sculpting technique! It saves a lot of gel by not adding unnecessary bulk to the nail. Tfs!
missalaneous11 thanks! I really don't like filing, so this is perfect for me lol

Tfs. This was very helpful. Your nail file seems very sturdy and efficient. May I ask where you purchased it, and if the company has a website, pls?

emilylcwearn oh, if youre using a uv lamp you may want to flash cure them for 20 seconds, not ten. I don't use uv so I can't say for sure.
Nice and helpful video. Where did u buy you brush??

Hi, new sub🥰
Thanks for the video. ⭐🌌🌟
what is that hand called?
It's called the nail trainer xo
I need a trick on doing baby boomer nails. It's not working for me :(
You might want to straighten the tip.
Bit late now 😂
Car alarm distraction
Lol that was the most annoying part of making youtube videos. The amount of times I had to retake because of background noise was ridiculous.
