I've been doing it for over a year now, and definitely the biggest benefit I've noticed is mental, because there really are ZERO days when I feel like doing it, but I push through and it makes me start the day in a better mood.
Fun fact. The cold water puts your body physically in shock and causes blood to be directed to your organs to help protect them and keep them at your body temperature. This is where that energy boost comes from. Its what helps wake you up in the morning, the shock and the increase blood direction. Id recommend for washing purposes to wash with hot showers first to open your pores and clear them out, and turning to cold water to close your pores up and prevent dirt from getting back in them to clog them.
Challenged myself doing cold showers every morning this March. Will continue doing it, at least 5 days a week! I'm digging your content, and really enjoying your cuts, edits and music-choice. Keep it up!
I went in the mountains in Italy 2 years ago. It was in summer but the torrent we were cleaning ourselves into was from snow melting a few kilometers above... It was very difficult some days, but much less some others. And I also felt that energy coming from it.
Do you think it's considered cheating if you start with a hot shower and slowly bring it to cold? I do this often but I'm questioning if the benefits are there as opposed to jumping into freezing water initially. 🤔
Not at all! As long as you end with cold water, you get all the benefits :). I like to start with hot water to open my pores, and end on cold to close them again. The heat helps my muscle soreness, but switching gradually to cold helps me stay alert and not get too relaxed.
Most of the word doesn't have hot water coming out of a faucet in their home. Have you ever heard of a cold-water flat ? It's a small apartment usually several floors and a walk up, with cold water only. Trust me you can survive on that and get used to it. ✳ 👣
Prior to doing this did you wake up consistently at 7:45AM? It might be hard to rule out areas of your life that improved from consistently waking up early vs strictly cold exposure. The body loves routine

That’s beneficial for clearing lymph system so I would say no long as you finish very cold

Try to get it as cold as possible while still not too uncomfortable and slowly increase the cold
