Great reaction! This song actually isn’t about any of her real relationships, funnily enough. As you know from the coverage of Taylor and Travis, the media is ALL OVER her dating life. For a long time they were incessantly writing articles about how she’s a serial dater, she lures men in, traps them, then they can’t escape fast enough when they see who she ‘really is.’ She’s going out with ‘too many’ men. She’s jet setting all over the world dating. Etc. Etc. This was when Taylor was in her early-mid 20’s, like it’s not a normal thing to date at that age? Anyway, instead of getting mad, she wrote this song. She said, you know, that’s a really interesting character the media has created for me. What if I wrote a song about that person? And that song became Blank Space.
And the comments were especially gross when you consider the age differences with John and Jake - the idea that she was “luring” in men in their 30s when she was 19 is exceptionally gross. 🤢

I’d say it’s also worth having the lyrics up because that’s where she really shines.
