    Beautiful! I am new to ceramics and would love to learn how to make jewelry from start to finish. I have no knowledge on the types of clay to use, glazing processes and kilns. And, how are the designs painted on and what type of paint is used? I started using polymer clay and I hate it! I make hand painted wood earrings. Thank you very much!

    • @FionaCArt
      @FionaCArt  11 месяцев назад

      Hey sherry! That’s cool you make wood earrings and are learning clay now. I felt the same about polymer honestly - it was so tricky!

    • @sherryelmore5546
      @sherryelmore5546 11 месяцев назад

      @@FionaCArt well painting wood and doing decoupage is more difficult than one thinks! As far as ceramics, they are just more beautiful and have the glowing shine that many polymer clay artists try to duplicate with little success. I can tell the difference!

      @FionaCArt  Год назад +1

      Hi Vita :) thank you for the kind words and for watching! Good observation about the double sided! We use what my mum calls a “chuck”, which she made herself. It’s basically a form where you can hang the earrings off of it using high fire wire. We also use it to fire our ornaments for the holidays and such so they don’t touch the kiln. Hope that helps :)

    question: how sturdy would these be do you think if you pulled on them/put some tension on them? and do you know if you can flatten the wire at all?

    • @FionaCArt
      @FionaCArt  6 месяцев назад +1

      It’s a good question. I mean - nobody has told me any of the earrings have come apart yet so I suppose that’s a good sign they have take some tension :) If you mean the wire that goes into the clay - you can do whatever you want. I usually make the earrings a bit thicker and put the clay in deeper nowadays so it’s flatter
