I own a Stinger GTS and I can honestly say it's the best car I've ever owned and driven. Beats the trousers off my Mercedes W205 which was a real let-down with reliability and build-quality issues abound. No regrets here and for anyone thinking of buying one think no more - just do it!
Have you driven it in snow? As it is a RWD I am afraid it will be slippery and unstable. I like it and thinking of the GTS but here in the UK it is only RWD not as in the USA where it is available as AWD.
I've got an American spec GT2 AWD and yes I do agree with you. Stinger is a fantastic car and no regrets here. All of garbage hate trash talk against Stinger online is BS lol, this car gets a lot of attention, and I live in Los Angeles .
That's unfortunate. Mercedes used to be known for reliability.

I've had my Federation Orange GTS for about a week and I absolutely love this car!! So fast yet so practicle. Went from a 370z to this beautiful car and I've got to say for those who love sports cars you're not loosing anything with this sports sedan. If anything you're gaining everything!! More room and stylish at the same time! I've gotten so many looks with my new car and the kids love it lol!! By far the best purchase I've made in years!! Very pleased☺
Still love my 2018 GT2.. :D Best winter car I've ever had up here in northern Sweden. Unlike the BMW's, Mercedes and Audi's, it actually starts at -30 celsius no issues. It powers through snow, eats it up and spits it out back.. Love it. AWD 2018 GT2.

I just saw one of these in person a few weeks ago. In the red color. And it looks fantastic! I think I just found my next car when my lease is up!
Since the holden commodores are no more in NZ our police are going with skoda superbs as the frontline patrol cars but I think these would be good for the highway patrol units

Like the colour coding of outfit to car! Good review. Loving the more natural approach to recent videos, so a thumbs up from me. Will the Kia really hold it’s value better than a 4 series BMW? In badge conscious Britain? Looks a great car nonetheless and it’s good to have decent alternatives out there for those who want something different to the herd.

Really like the Stinger. I'm one of those people that *would* buy it ahead of an Audi or BMW. I'd imagine its long term reliability would also be better and I tend to keep cars forever....

Our local Kia dealer has had one on the forecourt for weeks now. I think the £41k price on the screen is the problem.

I bought this car (Canadian AWD Twin-Turbo GT Limited version), but I'm still waiting for the dream girl to go with it... ;-)
BTW, it always a bit strange to see the dashboard flipped around. It's like looking at mine in a mirror. But it still looks great. I just wish the infotainment display would go down into the dashboard when not in use... (like on some Audi models).
Stinger is not the only red object that has captured my attention
Great review Rebecca, What Car. love how you reveal that you was driving 3.3 GT-S. A really gorgeous and a little bit aggressive look it. The red paint looks like a perfect match to the looks of the car. And looks like a car that you could have a lot of fun in. My dad been talking about having a second car over the weekend and I said" how about the Kia Stinger" as a joke as I know he not intending to spend that amount of money. I think Kia have done a great job on the looks and design of Stinger. But I would love to get to see one in person.
5"4.5' means whoever sits behind you is laughing. I think I might have to buy this over my previous choice of a Golf R Wagon. Also, doesn't the GT-S come with 360 camera view as STD?

Great car, but you can tell where Kia saved some of the money over the Germans. But what would stop me buying it, is not the badge it's those fake vents.

While the Kia May have the size and power to be similar to the Audi S5 Sportback, it lacks the quality, refinement, and fit and finish to be a true competitor.
So, those who are in the market for an S5 will not cross shop this car.
Perhaps the Genesis G70 will offer enough to be a true competitor to the S5.
Robert LeBlanc: ever driven one? I have. It's absolutely up there with an S5. The S5 has better interior materials, but the Stinger is the better driving car.
The G70 and the Stinger are also the same car, albeit the G70 is slightly lower output and a little bit smaller.
Rob L. That is not true as I cross shopped exactly that car, coming from my Alfa Giulia. This car is absolutely better than the S5. Much better driving dynamics, better looks and more comfortable seats. You say about the fit and finish, a car which you have probably not handled, but this car is well bolted together and will be on the road with less issues than the S5. Look at reliability surveys in any country in the world and you will see Kia beat Audi time after time. A no contest. Audi would never give a 7 year warranty (in UK as I am based - or 10 in US) because it would cost them a fortune, they are not built to last 7 years. The extremity of testing on the components of this car, is far greater.
Therefore with all of that together in many cases, the extra will purely be being paid for a badge. Not saying there is anything wrong with that, I have done it myself for years, but the effort that Kia have put into this car and the quality, irrespective of the price, make it worth a good shout for many.
I have had more problems with Audi and Merc than any Lexus or Alfa I have owned in the past and grates me how they end up on a pedestal because they charge more. Paying more for an inferior product makes absolutely no sense. I pay a crazy premium to buy Rolex watches - but at least they are better than the watches that are cheaper in virtually all instances (a subjective point and is based on my opinion - and the opinion of many being the most successful luxury watch brand in the world).
Kia perception will change with their upcoming models.
Here is a thought: If a Ferrari was rebadged Kia, but was a joint venture, resulting in a car that was designed by Ferrari, built by Ferrari and had a Ferrari engine within - and priced at 50k say. People would still buy a BMW Z4 even though the Ferrari/Kia would be better on virtually every level. It is the way it is sadly.
@@dpjyule keep dreaming man, I have a 2018 S5. I have seen a Kia at the car wash near me and yes it looks decent, but noway in terms of quality next to an audi. I know lots of folks may like it but, it's not what you'll make it out to be. Maybe because of the price, that's it.
I like this car, I honestly think that for it costs and what it is it's a great first effort, it can only get better in its second and third generations.

Cost of Ownership
initial price may be lower but what will it be worth when you come to sell it?
Well she did say that the V6 version has a higher projected residual value than the 4-Series GC and A5.
The future value according to Kia is about £1000 more than the Germans (£17500 Vs £16500) whilst costing anywhere from £10,000 to £20,000 less.
Rebecca is stunner and the cars not bad either .

Decent option for some but not an alternative to an Audi
Tumbleweed Scout: faster, cheaper, more reliable, longer warranty, better customer service, better residual values and, because of its RWD layout, better to drive.
It's absolutely a viable alternative to an Audi.

great review :) its a nice car, design wise that you wouldn't expect from Kia, although the Pro C'eed wasn't bad. On British roads, high performance cars don't really make sense.

Just tries too hard imo. Too many bits of styling and adornment that makes it look a bit messy. I would definitely pay the premium for a carbon edition S5

What is this banana test?
The Finisher Rebecca I know is keen on health and fitness. She has to be as she is also a racing driver. The banana has been a long-running joke with her male fans and is one of Rebecca’s trademarks, along with mentioning 5 foot 4 AND A HALF! It’s Rebecca showing she has a sense of humour. I am all for a great sense of fun. Good to have someone with personality on here.

Totally love the more relaxed style of voice and presentation. The stinger is an incredible car but do you really think the badge snob idiots will pay the audi/BMW price for a KIA...
What a stupid title! The Audi S5 is an easy to beat car and far from being a reference in the industry. As mentioned Kia sells more cars than the rivaling German manufacturers, so I would say to ask the question the other way around would be more adequate.
Btw: The mentioned VW Arteon is nothing else than a rebranded Passat with a hefty pricetag, hence not really in the ballpark of a real sports sedan.
