Ryan, TROLLS are everywhere, IGNORE THEM. Their sole purpose is to make you feel bad and they dislike anyone who has a life and is enjoying it and doing useful things. Mentioning them gives them what they want in their sad parents basement dwelling lives. I am learning alot from your channel reno and the convent reno. I learned older building practices I never would have guessed, like insulating with tons of dirt on each of the levels/floors and that we are indeed never going to see lumber that size again because we do not let them grow that big anymore before using. Crack on Ryan. Looking forward to seeing what your place turns out to be and as to using the friends, Heck yes, they know what they are doing and why not learn from them !!
Don’t give them air or free rent in your head. We share/ help our friends and neighbours with their renovations as well. Your all doing great work and being great friends helping each other rise, keep it up
Ryan, please, skip the trolls and hate comments! There are much more of us enjoying what you do! I love your sense of humor and commend you for your bravery to renovate a 15k house in rural France! 😬👍😋❤️
It is easy to get distracted by gnats. They are pesky, small minded, and short-sighted. Your channel is educational. You ask for help when you need it . We should all share our skils.problems and triumphs . You do good work.
Another senior citizen here ! I tune in every time to Ryan ! And Ryan …. I’ve been watching you way before your $15,000 house renovation in rural France… And I also love your sense of humor, and what my dad used to call “stick to it ness” ! Meaning you keep pushing ahead, asking for advice and help when you need it -and you have your goals and eyes set on the future !
But in all fairness VIEWERS on youtube are his ONLY income. You really want viewers to leave, based on them critisizing him or how quickly he does renovations or how he relies on friends for help? I have watched ALL his videos since Day one, and found a lot of good and a lot that makes me roll my eyes....are only positive comments really welcome??
Ignore the trolls and keyboard warriors, you’re lovely, keep being the amazing human who’s renovating the 15k house in rural FRANCE! You’re still my spirit animal!! 🙌🏻❤️😂
I can’t wait til you have stopped addressing the haters. Haters are haters and you can’t change them. You don’t owe anyone anything watching you and you’re just such a sweetheart it’s only natural it bothers you. Please ignore them. They are like most animals… if you feed them they will grow
Ryan, I have never been disappointed in you! Your spontaneity cheers me up, EVERY time. You are precious to tell us that you are rusty on talking to the camera. Smooth as silk, young man. I never worry if you aren't posting videos all the time. You have done so much! You are working within your resources, & doing a LOT of OTJ (on the job) learning. If you weren't a good man, a loyal friend, & a hard worker, Billy Petherick & Nick Moon would not be your friends!!!!! Sending you ❤ from an old lady in the US.
It’s amazing how the removal of that skimpy wall made the whole place glow with light. You’re on your way to making a cute little home. Keep on keeping on. 😊
I've been watching Billy's channel long enough to catch the joke from the begining...Can't belive anyone would come up with the kind of comments you were mentioning.. Keep up the great work..I think that staircase is a project all by itself...
I love the way your community of friends all help each other out. It would be wonderful if more people in the world would do the same. It’s always fun to see when you, Billy, Nick, and the others show up on each other’s channels HELPING EACH OTHER. Keep it up Ryan!
I absolutely LOVE your community. I am supposed to be doing things. But I can't get enough of the lot of you. I'm howling laughing at your sparking sarcasm. Bwaahaahaaa. LMAO. It's nice to see you today. You're just adorable and have a vast heart. And you are quite the entertainer from ruuuralll Fraaannnce. 😊❤
If anyone has watched you these past few years, you spent most of your time helping your friends and family, unselfishly! Ignore the negative, they are just jealous of your sparkling, humorous personality! Also, you probably have more friends than they do that genuinely want to help you. Carry on with your sweet self!
Hey Ryan, I've been watching you since the inception of this channel and I've always found you to be one delightful fellow and really don't think you have a bad bone in your body! You're always there to help other people so it would only make sense that these friends would also want to help you. I love that you're fixing up this old house and learning while you're going. It's fun to watch! Best of luck to you.
Maybe they have never had a good friend because they have never been a good friend friend. Ryan is the first to help his friends and they I am sure appreciate him
Asking for and receiving help from your friends is what friends do. I enjoy your quirkyness, and I knew from your first video on this renovation project that you were going to need help. Keep on keeping on.
Thats what friends are for Ryan ❤❤ we as viewers love the way all of you go from working on your own projects to everyone else's. Keep it up, we enjoy all the channels.🎉
Ryan, you are too funny! You are so fortunate to be part of such a great group of friends, helping each other is the best. Some people are just so miserable, unfortunately. I thought maybe you were helping your parents in their business, which was why we hadn't see you much. Glad to watch whatever you're doing - I learn alot from all of you.
Billy and Nick are such suckers!😂😂😂 For the fireplace I recommend Citrustrip, if it’s available in France. It’s a non toxic paint remover spray or brush-on gel that works really well. Then you can take the wire brush wheel to it and it should come off really easy.
This. Any EU approved paint stripper should work a treat, just follow the directions carefully, wear full PPE, and protect the floor with a tarp or summat.
Removing the cardboard partitioning makes a huge difference, I think that opening up that and the stairs makes it feel bigger and you can make a really great feature of the banister. It must be very annoying having to read some of the ridicules comments, coming from someone watching RUclips, not actually doing anything.👍
The person who can master every renovation task solo without help from someone at some point is likely a rare beast. You have excellent friends and you appear to be an excellent friend to them as well.
Ryan, ignore the naysayers….they aren’t worth your time. You are a gentle soul that is always there for your friends…and that is wonderful. To make a good friend, you have to be one. Amen! Yikes, that wallpaper on the ceiling in the hallway is hideous!! Wow! What a great difference it makes with that wall gone! Good work! Maybe if you dedicate a day to take the paint off the fireplace, it won’t seem so tedious to you. Keep on keeping on, Ryan, and your loyal followers will keep watching and supporting you! Love from Pennsylvania, USA 💕🌷🐻
Friends and family are always there for you NO matter what. They help you and you help them. Let go of the haters Ryan. You're great and your friends are awesome. So just do you. See you in the next video!
Hi Ryan. There will always be someone who tries to bring you down. You have many more people that support you and hold you up when you need it. Chin up and ignore the negative energy, it has no place in your life. Stay positive and surround yourself with positive people and positive energy.
So glad you removed that wall. A trick to taking old wall paper down, like you got on that grovy ceiling. Is cheap/ Unexpensive fabric shoftner at your local corner store. Mix a little of it in a spray bottle with some really hot water from your tea pot. Spray the Dickinson out of the wall papper while the water is still hot! Use a plastic scraper to remove. Like one you use to remove the ice off your windshield. It keeps it from damaging the flat surface.
We all need such good friends but they are really hard to find and keep! We all need friends. Many commenting here would be helping him if we were not so far away. I do that for fun.
Ryan, I'm so glad that you have a wonderful group of friends to not only spend time with, but to do fun things like renovate super cool properties. Everyone has to learn, who better to learn from than your friends. Also, not all renovations are safe to do on your own, and unless you absolutely have to do it alone, why should you? I look forward to following your home reno journey =)
Your sarcasm is on point and I love it! Your friends wouldn’t be helping if they didn’t want to. And do the naysayers know what you’ve done over the years to help them out? Probably not. Ignore them, it’s not worth the hassle. I love your content and appreciate anything you can post. ❤️❤️❤️
Life is not a popularity contest. You're doing great. Friends help each other...it's called friendship. Negative people wrongly think cutting down others will elevate themselves. It doesn't. Keep on doing what you are doing and we'll enjoy the journey with you. Aloha from Hawaii.
Way to go Ryan....you do your own thing! Your friends totally understand and love you (as do most of your viewers!!!). I can't wait to see your upcoming renos!
In the wise words of the philosopher Taylor Swift, "Haters are gonna hate...hate...hate". You keep going at a pace that suits you and ignore everyone else, people don't realize that it is your first big renovation and you are still learning and their are things that might cause trepidation so you might be a bit slower than people that have way more experience because it is better to be cautious than to rush and mess up something that you have to fix later.
Ok Ryan.. my 9 year is sitting beside me on the couch and she keeps saying “rural France” just like you…you have great friends and just keep being Ryan❤
Love the open concept. Having friends an family wanting to help you is a blessing an ppl that don't believe that leave them in the wind. Keep up the good work.
I am sure you trade your skills with your friends no matter what others think. You definitely should get help from your friends. All of us ask for help when we have friends we think could do something better. That's what life is all about ❤
Your videos are entertaining and you have a wonderful sense of humor. Nothing wrong with having good friends helping each other. That’s what friends do. ♥️🕊️
You had me with the hard hat joke. Good shot. Ignore everyone who doesn’t know what they are talking about everyone needs help occasionally. It’s great to see your friends helping.
I don't do the patreons but I try to watch every video posted by Ryan multiple times and watch the ads all the way through (no skipping or adblocker here!). It's also vital that I add meaningful, on-topic comments wherever I can. Carry on, Ryan.
I realize that the shutters are closed in the front room, but wow, the room gets so much more light with the wall down. Good choice! I think the removal of the paint on the fireplace is just a pain in the yahoo from watching other videos of people doing the same thing. It will be worth the time spent on it in the end. :)
Absolutely cracking up at you trolling the trolls, Ryan! 😂 I can only guess that they’ve never had a friend and have no idea how friendships work! Hell, I only found your channel because of the amount of times you’ve appeared on Billy’s and Nick’s channels, always willing to help out and put in the graft. I’m pretty sure your wall was made from the same stuff my local council uses for doors, I’ve accidentally fallen through one, back in my misspent youth 😮😂 Great job, as always 😊
Dear Ryan, you are a driven hardworking courageous young man. How awesome is it that you have such genuine friends. You all help each other and you learn from their experience and knowledge on renovating these marvelous old gems that need saving. Bravo you! Ignore the keyboard critics, they only wish they had a little bit of your gumption and bravery to jump in with both feet and take on this huge project. Do it as you can with who is there to help and teach you along the way. We all love what you’re doing and look forward to your next video. You are moving forward beautifully. It’s better to take your time and do it right as you can . You owe nothing to the haters - please block them! It’s all a learning curb. Bless you Ryan! Keep on keeping on 😊 You’re doing a fantastic job!
Ryan you dont have to explain yourself we know that youre a genuine person. Theres always a handful of bitter people. To be a utuber you must need a very thick skin keep doing you ! We love it ❤
Well, Ryan, I must say you had me going there for a bit. I kept thinking 'that doesn't sound like Ryan at all'. Glad you were only joking. I do enjoy your videos, not only to see your progress on your house 'in rural France', but also because you are entertaining to watch. Keep up the good work, mate!
It speaks highly of you that you are a true friend and that you have true friends. You help them, and they help you. Congratulations on all the progress you and your fellow renovators have made on the house in rural France that you are renovating. Lol.
Greetings from Australia! Good on you Ryan for sticking to your principles and not being affected by trolls on the net. The barter system is a great way to work and I am sure your friends appreciate the work you do for them in return.
Ryan it’s good that you can continue doing this with all the creepy people(haters) lurking on the internet. Renovating is more than a one person job especially when that isn’t in your wheel house. All of us have to learn new skills and you have the best of friends with the knowledge supporting and helping you. Keep it up, you are doing a great job. ♥️
We care about you, which means we fret about you. I want you to learn as much as you can/need to feel proud of what you’ve done in your house. It’s a great feeling to stand in the middle of a room & say, I did that, I rebuilt that, I refinished that. We want that feeling for you.
Ryan, don't take to heart what some people say. When any of us do renovations you most likely need help at some point. My opinion is you are blessed to have good friends that will take the time to help a friend, then in return you can help them. Blessings to you Ryan, Kathy USA 🇺🇸
Oh Ryan, people are idiots. We all know that you need tons of help in renovating this house. You have amazing friends. If they didn’t want to help, they wouldn’t. You are learning so many new skills and you have amazing friends to help you!!
Ignore the trolls and the hate - focus on the positive ( love your sarcasm) Your friends love to help. and you want the renovation done right. so take your time and do it right. Above all stay safe while renovating. love the flooring too. :D Do what ever makes you happy, Ryan. Trolls need to take a long walk off of a short pier. :D
Ryan, thanks for making my 84 year old money pit look like a walk in the park. I love watching your videos. I'm a senior, so I physically can't do most of the work my house needs. I'm learning things from your videos, though, so it will help me deal with contractors better. If you can survive dirt floors inside your house, I can deal with weird stuff, too.
Ryan, you have great resources to consult about stripping the paint off the fireplace. A message to Billy would get you suggestions, if you need more. Blessings.
Ryan, Id guess the stone on your fireplace is a type of limestone, so it’s a softer, somewhat porous material. Your wire wheel approach is not just slow, it will damage the stone’s surface finish and leave you with an inferior final product unless you follow it up by re-dressing the stone surface. The paint may also be lead based and you don’t want to breathe all that dust. You’d have an easier time of removing the paint from your stone fireplace using a paint removing system designed for use on brick and stone. These are usually applied like paint then covered with a backing material to make removal and cleanup easier. The paint remover is left in place for 24 hours to soak in and act, and then peeled off. Good luck with your project, it’s a beauty.
At one Point you were doing an interview channel - do one on Simon: his background how long he has had his house in France how he met Billy his golfing career and family…
I helped my dad de-paint a brick fireplace many years ago. We used a belt sander with a very course grit belt. We'll belts, plural, actually. The pain tended to clog the grits quickly, but it did work and did an awesome jobs for large flat areas. Good luck on those carved details
Ryan. You AND your friends are amazing! I'm just a little old gal and one of my favorite sayings is "Mean people suck"! Pay no mind to the losers who have nothing better to do than criticize people getting stuff done from their sofa! You are learning invaluable information favour friends who just happen to have more experience with renovations. One day that friend will be you helping someone else! Those of us who watch the others know you give at least as much as you receive! Plus you're really easy on the eyes. 😉
Ryan your 15K rehab project with your compadres is totally awesome 🤩!! BUT I do have a serious issue…namely, your hypnotic super powers have been making me say “in ruuuaaal France” in an uncontrollable fashion 😵💫😵💫😵💫!!!!
Ryan I truly was a bit worried. But then I got to thinking about your absence that if something was "wrong" with you Billy would probably have told us. I'm happy you are back and looking healthy and happy. Your house is coming along just fine. And your friends are true friends that's why they help. If I lived in your area I would help you also! Love ya kiddo! Now crack on! btw I'm a 74 yr old great great grandma, and you are such fun to watch and listen to. You remind me of my grandson Chase❤️
And the trolls have no life, poor things.😢
Don’t give them air or free rent in your head. We share/ help our friends and neighbours with their renovations as well. Your all doing great work and being great friends helping each other rise, keep it up
Don’t let the no counts get to you, they are basement dwellers in mamas house and don’t even work for a living. They are just jealous!
Ryan, please, skip the trolls and hate comments! There are much more of us enjoying what you do! I love your sense of humor and commend you for your bravery to renovate a 15k house in rural France! 😬👍😋❤️
Ryan, you have such a big heart! But hun, skip the posts that are negative! They do not come from friends! ❤
It is easy to get distracted by gnats. They are pesky, small minded, and short-sighted. Your channel is educational. You ask for help when you need it . We should all share our skils.problems and triumphs . You do good work.
It seems the haters only come to hate.. unhappy people like hating on others who are doing good
I’m a senior citizen ( for many years) and I enjoy your videos…your sense of humor, and watching you remodel your house.
Another senior citizen here !
I tune in every time to Ryan !
And Ryan …. I’ve been watching you way before your $15,000 house renovation in rural France…
And I also love your sense of humor, and what my dad used to call “stick to it ness” !
Meaning you keep pushing ahead, asking for advice and help when you need it -and you have your goals and eyes set on the future !
💯
People seriously say crap like that? If you don't like the channel, LEAVE! Love you, Ryan.
I agree! It boggles my mind to see negative comments not just on Ryan's blogging but other peoples! Go away you negative nasty people! We love him!
Agreed x 2 Its wonderful seeing good friends helping one another, learning and laughing along the way! You are lovely Ryan!
We sure do love you Ryan! 🥰
But in all fairness VIEWERS on youtube are his ONLY income. You really want viewers to leave, based on them critisizing him or how quickly he does renovations or how he relies on friends for help? Ignore the trolls and keyboard warriors, you’re lovely, keep being the amazing human who’s renovating the 15k house in rural FRANCE! You’re still my spirit animal!! 🙌🏻❤️😂
Why people critcize don't understand. It is obvious that you and Billie and Nick are the best mates. Nice bit of demolition Ryan ❤
I can’t wait til you have stopped addressing the haters. Haters are haters and you can’t change them. You don’t owe anyone anything watching you and you’re just such a sweetheart it’s only natural it bothers you. Please ignore them. They are like most animals… if you feed them they will grow
Wonderful comment...very well said!
Ryan, I have never been disappointed in you!
Your spontaneity cheers me up, EVERY time.

I love your sense of humour 😂😂 we wouldn’t get far without our friends 😁
You all help each other that's what friends are for. Knocking down that wall has made it a lot brighter ❤

Not to worry about those trolls Ryan........we love you for your sarcasm....You are our duck's back!
It’s is too bad that people can not see and appreciate true friendship. Love your sense of humour
Maybe they have never had a good friend because they have never been a good friend friend. Ryan is the first to help his friends and they I am sure appreciate him
You are doing a great job, Ryan!
Asking for and receiving help from your friends is what friends do. I enjoy your quirkyness, and I knew from your first video on this renovation project that you were going to need help. Keep on keeping on.

Yes it works beautifully. Trust me, it worked on my 8 rooms.
4:36 I’m the same, I’ve made friends 5 years ago for the sole purpose of helping me move out this week.
Bon courage !
We all need such good friends but they are really hard to find and keep! We all need friends. Many commenting here would be helping him if we were not so far away. I do that for fun.

Thanks Ryan, I enjoyed that sarcasm very much! Rock on Buddy!😂

Helmet tax LMAO that was a good one . 😂 I'm so glad you are going for the open plan open lines of sight are great in a smaller place . ❣️❣️❣️
1000 helmet tax 🤣
I agree Ryan! Leave that little wall by the entryway down! The more light, the better!
Ok Ryan.. my 9 year is sitting beside me on the couch and she keeps saying “rural France” just like you…you have great friends and just keep being Ryan❤

Isn't it more fun to have friends around you when you are doing a renovation, it makes work, not work! Well done Ryan!

Ryan!!! Love you and your adventures. I get mad when I see some of the judgy remarks. Keep going. I’m cheering for you from LA.

Love ya Dude! Love watching your stuff, whether it be weekly or monthly. Grateful for whatever you can share with us. Happy renovating. :)
Funky wallpaper on that ceiling!! Can't tell what vintage!
1970s
Hey, if I was in rural France and didn't have to work my 9-to-5, I'd be helping out too!
8:33 doing a great job, Ryan, the cardboard is called sound absorbing panels.

I can only guess that they’ve never had a friend and have no idea how friendships work! Hell, I only found your channel because of the amount of times you’ve appeared on Billy’s and Nick’s channels, always willing to help out and put in the graft.
I’m pretty sure your wall was made from the same stuff my local council uses for doors, I’ve accidentally fallen through one, back in my misspent youth 😮😂
Great job, as always 😊
“Friends help each other.” So true. Period. ❤
Never change you humour Ryan as you cracked me up. Thank you. May you please take care and stay safe. Louisa. 👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️🤩🤩🤩
Crack on Ryan! This is YOUR site, no one else's and we love watching and listening to YOU!
Keep on keeping on 😊
You’re doing a fantastic job!
Love the sarcasm 🤣
Ryan-you are such a Card!!! Hahaha!! Love your Sarcasm!! Keep it up!!
You are helping them and you are learning so much from your good friends!!
Hi, keep up the great work Ryan👍🏻
Lol.
Good work, Ryan. My dad said, "Rich or poor, we can only move one shovel at a time." All in your time. With friends, or alone, all is okay...
Ryan I really like you as a person and admire your tenacity. You have friends 🎉 🎉🎉
They have a friend in you too 🎉🎉🎉
We care about you, which means we fret about you. I want you to learn as much as you can/need to feel proud of what you’ve done in your house. It’s a great feeling to stand in the middle of a room & say, I did that, I rebuilt that, I refinished that. We want that feeling for you.
Ryan, I think you are funny as hell... Never change!
Ryan, don't take to heart what some people say. When any of us do renovations you most likely need help at some point. My opinion is you are blessed to have good friends that will take the time to help a friend, then in return you can help them. Blessings to you Ryan, Kathy USA 🇺🇸
That's the spirit! You can always do what you can and keep the place tidied up to give friends who help a nice work environment.
Some folks just like to be nasty. Don’t mind them. Just block them and carry on with your life, renovations, and friendships. Be you!
At one
Point you were doing an interview channel - do one on Simon: his background how long he has had his house in France how he met Billy his golfing career and family…
I helped my dad de-paint a brick fireplace many years ago. We used a belt sander with a very course grit belt. We'll belts, plural, actually. The pain tended to clog the grits quickly, but it did work and did an awesome jobs for large flat areas. Good luck on those carved details
wonder if sand (or soda) blasting would be the way to go? I have no idea how they do things in france.
I think you just love saying rural France. Always enjoy your videos tho
Thank you Ryan, it was great spending time with you.
These rude people don't have friends so, dig on you. Don't pay attention to them.
I've always enjoyed you, your sarcasm, sense of humor, love of life, love of family, honesty, your points of view etc etc etc❤
Don't let the trolls bother you. Your friends are helping you learn so many new skills.
NO ROOM FOR TROLLS HERE!!!
