And even then, that's compared to the regular route. The shortcut that's normally done is 1.5ish seconds faster than this one.

@WorldLoveGaming less variables than the big blue skip, it's just 2 hops and a jump, so you can get it way more consistently than the big blue skip

Me and the bois were playing Mario Kart in the School's library/rec center on the big screen.
This one dude decided to do the Big Blue shortcut whilst screaming "YYYYYEEEEEAAAAAHH!" up until he got hit by a blue shell.
We were laughing the entire rest of the race. XD

Now i can do the gap jump 50/50 cuz sometimes i get it sometimes i fail
Even time I see people online fail the gap just on 150cc mushroom gorge makes me laugh just enough to make me remember back in MKW online where 3 or 4 people in the entire room go for it 100cc and fail it thinking that it 150cc.

The mushroom gorge 200cc shortcut is wild. Somehow my 9 year old brother discovered it by himself and now can do it shroomless first try.
Sure it only saves 0.2 seconds, but man does it look cool!
Actually it would cost 2 seconds due to the regular shortcut still being a lot faster

The wild thing to me is that the gap jump saves like 8x as much time as the Big Blue one which cuts off even more track

It's from the track, Big Blue. It debuted in F-Zero and got heavily updated in Mario Kart 8, though it also has a great remix in Super Smash Bros Ultimate.

The world record for big blue uses that, but modified to save time
There's a faster method for the big blue shortcut and you use a mushroom with a jump on the trick spot at the bottom, it's used in the current 150cc big blue world record

Why call it “The One Hundred Fifty C C Big Blue Top Browser Ultra Shortcut” If you can just call it “The Big Blue Ultra”?
It's called the 150cc Big Blue Shroomless Top Route Ultra Shortcut because there are so many variables. You could also do it on 200c, you could also do it with multiple mushrooms, you could also do it using the bottom path. You have to be specific.
I love how the easier shortcut for big blue is faster, now we can beat all the sweats who wanna show off

Big blue ultra shortcut isn’t that hard, I found I was able to to do it by just hopping and pulling back and the left stick.

I don't know why I got this recommended one year later but the 150cc one is wrong now cause you can do gap jump shroomless and you can do the turnskip on waluigi stadium
Turn skip on Waluigi Stadium is literally free and you're right about the 150cc one, but that wasn't discovered until way later.

if you begin a drift on big blue instead of hopping you can charge a second ultra mini turbo and go higher into the air, the world record does it this way

Finishing forwards is very difficult, yeah. Haven't managed to do that so far, but I haven't grinded it as much yet.
How can you enable motion controls mid air? Is there a button for it?
Pause the game in mid air and press the Y button, then unpause.
