@@SaltyToad00 My guy splash wall is 65%, Burst can't possibly be worse at draining the ink tank mid-fight than that. One of the cool things I found when playing Wellstring is if you want your spread of shots to be closer when charging up for a longer shot, jumping and letting go half way will bunch the shots together! It’s another reason why I love this weapon so much as it feels incredibly flexible for a backliner
Good video! Interesting topic! Well edited! I don’t have much to say I just enjoyed it. I did have the idea mid-video of what if ink storm reduced the cooldown on refilling ink for some weapons giving it a buff with explosh but idk how that’d work on a bigger scale.
In splatoon 1 the heavy weapons were just that but since 2 they put so much originality in them, they are by far the most fun weapons in the series in my opinion
Splashdown on custom Explosher is still one of the dumbest kits I have ever seen. I want someone to make one of those “who do you think took your…” memes with Kensa Machine, Splatoon 3 Machine and Custom Explosher.
@@yoursnatchedweave641 Splashdown is a special that requires you to be near the enemy in order to do anything beneficial at all. Because of this, its only useful on Explosher as a panic button. Realistically, you shouldn’t need a panic button as the best play is to just not be near the enemy in the first place, as Explosher is a backline weapon. This means that outside of the specific scenario where your team has already failed to prevent the enemy from advancing, filling up that special gage and painting does absolutely nothing to help you push the objective - this means that it also helps cause the problem you’d like to avoid that it can occasionally help solve, because other specials like killer wail, booyah bomb, tenta missiles, ink strike and trizooka would allow you to push the enemy back *before* you have to use a panic button, while also being useful to push objective. its only useful if you play super aggressively, and can be punished easily since explosher has a slow fire rate meaning that if its dodged, you’e going to get splatted. Technically triple splashdown has a much larger radius than splashdown and it can help explosher stay in a position as an anchor (explosher has trouble painting its own feet too) but I still feel like its only situationally useful. Splashdown was even worse on Kensa Machine, as though that was a midline weapon, Machine generally wants to keep enemies just within range, original splashdown had such a small area of effect that it couldn’t be used offensively by Machine very well and was only useful as a panic button. Panic buttons are more useful on backlines than midlines which don’’t need them I guess, but still not fantastic.
@@yoursnatchedweave641 You cared. You asked for my opinion and then said i’m “sucking the fun out of the game” because I analysed the kit. This video is literally about competitive Splatoon, and you’re surprised to hear serious analysis of a weapon. That doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy it or its special, i’m saying this from the perspective of someone who mained Machine in Splatoon 2 - fun has its place. I’ve started maining Bamboo MK 2 literally just because it’s a fun weapon, doesn’t mean I think it’s perfect. If for you, analysis and playing a game competitively is the antithesis of fun, why are you watching this video which would clearly ruin your mood?
Honestly as someone who plays wellstring, I personally like it more as a midline weapon than an anchor due to the fighting ability it has. It still can BE an anchor, but I feel like a midline that locates and can actually kill (cough cough unlike nova cough cough) is actually a good archetype
As a (Custom) Wellstring main, I LOVE the thrill of being able to switch from passive support to a full-on slayer! Cool to see the weapon get some much needed recognition. Really is a slow burner type.
I feel like Explosher with Angle Shooter and Crab Tank would go so hard. Angle Shooter is basically a cheaper but much harder point sensor that can paint your feet and deal combo damage. If they make the line do 20.0 damage then that can combo with a 90. And Crab Tank is great with shredding objects easier, hitting pesky enemies on grates and Inkjets more easily and protecting itself with ball form if it needs to, like Baller in S2. Even if it's not the best kit it still sounds like a ton of fun. Please Nintendo there's still hope!
I actually quite like Wellstring's Autobomb. For me the Tracking is easier to play off of than Point Sensor's. On top of that, a main of Sub Power Up makes it's throwing range similar to Wellstring's max, which is good for trapping at range, especially against other backlines. Also, dropping one at your feet when being Rushed down is suprisingly good at trading you out if you don't escape. I was wondering at first why I recognized the background music, then I realized it was from Kid Icarus Uprising. An excellent choice.
I used the Custom Wellstring for a good bit, the combination of wave breaker and point sensor is an absolute recon paradise, if your team relies on constant intel of enemy's location to play well you will absolutely swear by this weapon, hell why not even tag the enemies and kill them yourself!
When it first launched, I 3 starred the custom explosher the day it came out because I enjoyed using it that damn much. Since then, it’s become my second most played weapon. I’m just a triple-splashdown lover in a trizooka world.
I love running opening gambit on Custom Wellstring :) It might not always work out but it can get early assists and/or kills fairly easily and is fun to play aggressively!
I'd love to see a comparison between Dynamo Rollers and Pain Brushes! I used to play Dynamo back in Splatoon 1, and Pain Brush reminded me a lot of Dynamo when it first came out with its paint and AoE!
Loved this in-depth comparison! Could you create a new video series where you go into the strengths and weaknesses of each weapon and compare them to weapons that play similarly like in this video? I think you would be the best person to do this considering your experience with theory crafting.
A good comparison would be splash-o-matic, splattershot, and 52 gal. It is hard from a solo player's perspective on which is better since they have similar roles and are generally good regardless of the meta.
i hate to admit it, but i really think people are underrating vwellstring right now. the option for self defense paired with wellstring's superior mobility shores up the close range weakness in a way that makes explosher look like chump change hoping explosher can get some buffs to put it more on par with options like wellstring and rapid pro, that object damage is enough to make me blush...
I might be a bit biased, being an explo main since the start of 3, but I do think that explo has a nudge further because of it having a better time painting around obstacles just because it’s a slosher. The well string can do it, but I feel it’s easier to dodge wellstring because either all the arrows are bunched up or there’s only one arrow in threatening range. Meanwhile the explo has a higher radius per shot than a singular arrow, making it more threatening. Though they both can hit over an object equally well. It might still not beat wellstring, but I feel it’s worth mentioning. I also might just be completely wrong here, Chara definitely knows the meta better than me.
I remember when Custom Wellstring V was announced, people were upset about its kit, since point sensors and Wave Breaker seemed, repetitive? l would still prefer a different special that would make it easier to protect you if an opponent got too close. I like Wave Breaker, but I still feel it doesn't belong on that weapon.
I want to see a video comparing Very Cool Gun (Nzap 89) versus Very Cool Gun 2 Electric Boogaloo (Hedit) Ig in general is a video explaining the viability and comparison of the current Cooler weapons, and what could be done to make the lesser prominent cooler weapons more viable (if this wasn’t was video you’ve already made)
THANK YOU STORM ON EXPLO IS JUST KINDA REDUNDANT I WAS SO TIRED OF HAVING TO SAY THAT. I do think that cexplo is better than Cwell though mostly because of consistency. Wellstring is really good into bubbler/Wall comps but it's not like explo is bad into them cause both the main and special are good counters. Explo is still really good against sharks with its high consistent paint as well as making it harder for them to move. However explo is much better into stuff like zooka and strikes. Explo also has a kit to shore up its weaknesses more then wellspring. Explo's main weakness is getting rushed but with wall and TSD that can be mitigated a lot

I'd love to see a comparison between Dynamo Rollers and Pain Brushes! I used to play Dynamo back in Splatoon 1, and Pain Brush reminded me a lot of Dynamo when it first came out with its paint and AoE!
as an explosher main who also enjoyed the idea of wellstring, I see this as an absolute win.
Loved this in-depth comparison! Could you create a new video series where you go into the strengths and weaknesses of each weapon and compare them to weapons that play similarly like in this video? I think you would be the best person to do this considering your experience with theory crafting.
Hopefully explosher doesn’t push dynamo down at all. I have trouble fighting exploshers with dynamo
A good comparison would be splash-o-matic, splattershot, and 52 gal. It is hard from a solo player's perspective on which is better since they have similar roles and are generally good regardless of the meta.
Guys I have a feeling the editors miiiiight like kid icarus uprising (based)
If we’re doing more comparisons, I’d love to see Gloogas VS 96
Wellspring is definitely my favorite to use. Especially in rainmaker. It demolishes the shield in like two hits usually.
Custom Wellstring in a nutshell: "I miss Echolocator"
In my opinion, the secondary explosions alone on wellstring hand it the painting category
You should compare vslosher and maybe deco slosher to stamper
Q. Explo or Wellstring in zones?
A. PEN is better.
Unfortunately to this day you can still parry every stringer direct with squid roll. Unlikely, but when it happens, it hurts
I love the Kid icarus Uprising ref xD
You should do 2 of your favourite weapons next time!if you don’t have any favourites that’s ok😊
Wellstring can very easily just tap shot when you're trying to close the gap, typically killing you without delay
I'm just giving a like for still coming in strong with content despite the doom and gloom with 3rd kits. Thanks Chara.
I think it would be interesting seeing something like the Splat Rollers vs the Tri Sloshers. I find both weapons to be quite similar
i hate to admit it, but i really think people are underrating vwellstring right now. the option for self defense paired with wellstring's superior mobility shores up the close range weakness in a way that makes explosher look like chump change
hoping explosher can get some buffs to put it more on par with options like wellstring and rapid pro, that object damage is enough to make me blush...
I was a C-string believer the second the kit dropped
People really thought location spam of an AOE spammer would be bad lmfaooo
The back-line of my team uses both weapons cool video to see pretty frequently
:)
Man it’s funny how people thought custom explo was garbage on launch, but it wound up being better than vanilla
I like the wellspring! feels like a good heavy bow!
I also might just be completely wrong here, Chara definitely knows the meta better than me.
i wanted wave on explo since they started releasing second kits, the combo potential would be crazy
Mint and Vroller/Carbon will be a very good comparison
I remember when Custom Wellstring V was announced, people were upset about its kit, since point sensors and Wave Breaker seemed, repetitive? l would still prefer a different special that would make it easier to protect you if an opponent got too close. I like Wave Breaker, but I still feel it doesn't belong on that weapon.
These are everywhere. I would say the wellstring is better because it has less endlag and shoots more.
I want to see a video comparing Very Cool Gun (Nzap 89) versus Very Cool Gun 2 Electric Boogaloo (Hedit)
Ig in general is a video explaining the viability and comparison of the current Cooler weapons, and what could be done to make the lesser prominent cooler weapons more viable (if this wasn’t was video you’ve already made)
Stringers mentioned😍🗣️🎙️
s blast v range blaster both are got similar playstyles and are both splat zones demons
Great video idea !
So glad I’ve been a wellstring believer since day 1
I’d love to see a comparison of Dualie Squelchers and Douser Dualies
I wanna see a Bubble matchup: vRoller vs Mint!
Explo's main weakness is getting rushed but with wall and TSD that can be mitigated a lot
i wonder what weapon could be compared with Nautilus to know which is best (litterally just want to hear ProChara talk about the Nautilus a little more)
Bow if you want damage, explo if you want stability
Thanks now I want to play kid icarus uprising
might be basic, but i'd love to see a discussion on tri stringer vs wellstring
Can you make a comparison with 52 & Gloogas ? :)
Me, who has played explo since splat2, happy to see my main shine bright: ^v^
I used to play object shredder on explo. Made killing tanks and walls etc a lot easier. Like 2 hits to tale a wall out
Toy should do reflux vs Squiffer since they tried making it a pseudo swiffer especially with that charge time mid-ait buff they gave to it was well
Remember when everyone thought decav would become meta? Oh how wrong we were.
You thought it was decav?! BUT IT WAS ME EXPLOSHER
Okay but decav did become meta. Like I get what your going for but decav becoming meta is very much so a thing that happened.
@@ajmoment8091
For like 4 days. People quickly learned an easy way to counter it, whereas wellstring (usually) requires specials to even have a chance of keeping it in check.
@@Random0king-tw5pn before proceeding further, I need to ask, what do you know about competitive play outside of this channel? Because at least through the places I've seen, literally none of this is true.
@@Random0king-tw5pn wellstring does not need to rely on specials to kill decav lmfao it's so easy to deal with them. *just keep them at range they can barely do anything from there*
They're both really good and really close in value with slight edges over the other but I'm a reeflux main who perfectly fits a wellstring and have fallen in love so I guess explo doesn't exist and wellstring is infinitely superior now
i need explo to be good so badly
Well here's a thought splatana stamper and charcoal decavitator
(Why does Wellstring have so much object damage it does not that much object damage)
Explosher is better because it's the only primary weapon able to splat Flyfish. No contest
Explo and Wellstring my beloved…
