The intro and outro were done in that manner -- with Robert's harmonica and muted vocals -- to emulate the sound of the original Willie Dixon recording playing on an old turntable. LZ's love and respect for the old Blues artist can't be denied! Your reaction to this one has convinced me to subscribe!
Welcome to the channel. This man gives all the respect in the world to the great musicians before his time. One of the biggest reason I’m a subscriber.❤🎉✌🏽☮️🤲🙏
It's actually Sonny Boy Williamson, not Dixon as an artist, though he did write it. I notice that some channels on RUclips credit Willie Dixon as the artist, but it's Sonny Boy Williamson, his 1963 recording.
Hi MMB, every Zeppelin reaction is great. Glad you did this song, although it was not a big radio hit, it's still one of the classics. Starts with traditional early blues, breaks into 70's power-rock blues, and then "brings it on home", back to the early blues again. Great haunting harmonica by Plant. The harmonica's power is that you can hear the human breath, it's like the handclap, it's a "human" sound. Did you ever do a reaction to "Kashmir"? It's one of Zep's very best.
For those that love to hear Robert Plant play the harmonica, there is a version of "You Shook Me" that is very rare. It is from 1968 and it is the first take of the run through in the studio or one of the band members home. You will only get a still photo but the version has Robert Playing the harmonica through the entire song and the vocals are out of this world! If you're a true Zeppelin fan, this is a must! You'll know you have the right one if you hear them say, Take One, at the beginning of the song.
I'd say, second best. Jeff Lynne's break-in riff on ELO's epic cover of, "Roll Over Beethoven", takes the cake. Just like in, "Bring It On Home", we get lulled into a completely different genre, sound and mood, before the guitar break-in, but this time the intro is ELO performing a passage from Beethoven's 5th (something original artist Chuck Berry, and The Beatles in their cover, did not do).
Plant and page both loved the delta blues of the 50s and 60s this was off the second album. Yes plant played harmonica. This was my first album, best band to only be together for 12 years. Imagine what they could have done if together longer.RIP Bonzo.
I enjoy your Zeppelin reactions so much, and this is one of my favorites, so thank you! You have just GOT to watch this Live at Royal Albert Hall from 1970. Please trust me on this one, you owe it to yourself! It is just incredible! The entire show is amazing, but if you don't watch the whole thing, at the very least watch this one and I Can't Quit You Baby.
This was the Album that took LED ZEPPELIN over the top and into everyone's home... I was 10 yrs old and hardly knew music other than the Beatles/Stones, etc, but this record/every tune was KILLER. It's really no wonder that LZ 3 did not sell as well as LZ- 2 and was (at that time) considered a little disappointing - HOW COULD ANY BAND FOLLOW UP LED ZEPPELIN 2 ?!? ANOTHER excellent upload, XMOB. Thanks
Welcome to becoming and official Led Zeppelin fan! I've watched you review many other bands, and outside of Free Bird, you consistently get more into Zeppelin songs than all of the others!
They definitely brought it home. Yes they played a piece of this before Black Dog live. You’ll hear a lot of that as you go through Zeppelin’s catalog. Enjoy. It doesn’t get any better.
Imagine four best friends in a 72 Chevelle SS. On their way to get tickets to Zeppelin's last concert tour. And hearing the tour was cancelled do to Bottom's death. It was devastating. We four haven't been the same since.
Don’t forget, you must always ask for the original recording not the remastered or so much live live but the original recording that’s the one you need to play
You should give a listen to Sonny Boy Williamson's 1963 version of Bring It On Home - it's the one they pay tribute to at the beginning and end of the song. It's a dead ringer! The middle part is all Zeppelin's though.
Love the Zeppelin. But I do hope that soon you will also do The Who. I don't see any Who reactions yet,,,, and The Who are one of the ALL TIME GREATS! Please try "Won't Get Fooled Again" for Keith Moon's most awesome and insane drumming. Try "The Real Me" for the one time that the Bass (by the greatest John Entwistle), went even more insane then Moon. I am curious how you will "rate" Moon's drums? Maybe behind Bonham and Neil P...? For me, Moon is in his own catagory as a drummer.
The song that is used as the intro to live versions of Black Dog is Out on the Tiles from Led Zeppelin 111, not Bring it on Home. But the song is a classic all the same! Good review.
If you think this studio version is good, you just HAVE to hear the live version from their "How the West Was Won" album. It is simply fire, and goes for quite a bit longer.
Just to clarify as someone who has heard nearly all the bootlegs of Led Zeppelin (I'm a fanatic idc because this band is #1) Before and during the 1972 tour, "Bring It On Home" was played fully. For 1973, on certain occasions it was used as an intro for "Black Dog". For 1977 and 1979 "Out on the Tiles" was used as the intro for "Black Dog".
P.S. Have we reacted to any of the LIVE versions, especially ROYAL ALBERT HALL? SECONDLY, I'm begging now (I requested previously another video) PLEASE if possible, Look up "As long as I have you" Zeppelin FILLMORE West. It's another remake (Garnett Mims) but might as well be different planets compared to the original. BOTTOM LINE: "As long as I have you" Led Zeppelin Fillmore West, definitely, but it's out there in other forms/settings, but they're all LIVE!!
They say Led Zeppelin ripped off black artists, blues artists through the 20s and 50s they did not they are the first ones to say that the roots of these songs are rooted in black music Black people actually wrote the songs but didn’t arrange them the same way Zepplin does they’ve saved money to give to these artists once they were able to find them back in those days, the record label was the artist did a lot of stealing back. Then once they find the estate or inheritor, in case the artist has passed, they get a percentage, the proper percentage for the participation when you think about it country and western and rhythm and blues run hand-in-hand. I think it was a tragedy to portray white musicians and singers as having no soul quite the contrary country and western has their style of blues and so do the R&B artists pretty much so it’s the same.
You might try the other great band that came up with Led Zeppelin on the same label. I'm speaking of Yes, a band which still exists in a slightly different form. ruclips.net/video/DwPWGUhEtP0/видео.html
Check Great Van Fleet's Heat Above, Light My Love and any song really from Garden's Gate. Try their stereotypical reaction video song Highway Tune. They put out live versions of every song too.
Sonny Boy WILLIAMSON II died in 1965. So taken that he wouldn't have the mojo to play harmonica on Zeps songs. Robert Plant a very talented harmonicist and under rated.
You’re nuts...that is Plant, he was singing through the mike. What the hell are you talking about. Are you trying to be cute? Well you ain’t. What an ass! 🤨😡😖
Robert Plant on harmonica.
Robert on the harp is mesmerizing, JPJ on bass is just total bluesy. This is a blues rock masterpiece. Great reaction, dig your channel.
I love it, when Robert plays harmonica that shits the best!
Yeah, that's Robert!
The intro and outro were done in that manner -- with Robert's harmonica and muted vocals -- to emulate the sound of the original Willie Dixon recording playing on an old turntable. LZ's love and respect for the old Blues artist can't be denied!

An ABSOLUTE MUST HEAR Classic,, Led Zeppelin "No Quarter" (Studio Version)
They were absolutely magnificent...Robert plays a mean harmonica!!
These guys really know how to bring it on home.
And then some
They were, are and WILL ALWAYS BE the ultimate rock band.
So glad you reacted to this! Zeppelin is literally 50 songs deep of 10/10 and the rest are 9/10
There’s a great live version of this from Royal Albert Hall in 1970
Yes!!
Hi MMB, every Zeppelin reaction is great. Glad you did this song, although it was not a big radio hit, it's still one of the classics. The best break in ever, by any guitarist...ever. :-) Thank you Sir. Love your reactions.

There are greats, and pretenders...then we have GOATS like Led Zeppelin! 😎🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Robert is not only an awesome singer, he's a great harmonica player, too.
The greatest band ever assembled!! No contestants need apply. 🤘🏻🤘🏻🔥🔥
Love this song choice. An underrated masterpiece.
Plant and page both loved the delta blues of the 50s and 60s this was off the second album. Yes plant played harmonica. This was my first album, best band to only be together for 12 years. Imagine what they could have done if together longer.RIP Bonzo.
Robert Plant Is Just As Incredible On The Harmonica As He Is On Vocals.🔥
Saw it live. Those were the days.
Right?
About 10 in a row and I absolutely love watching you listen to each one 1st time hearing them. I grew up on them. Keep it up looking forward to more
Good catch! Yes, this riff is the intro to black dog for that concert performance.
You are so so right!!!! You can’t beat it ., They nail it each and every time!
You should see the live version of this one. The interaction between Page and Bonham is incredible!
I love your reaction jamming out like that excellent
This guy had the same exact reaction I had the first time I ever heard this song. Absolute freakin’ FIRE 🔥 🔥🔥
I enjoy your Zeppelin reactions so much, and this is one of my favorites, so thank you! You have just GOT to watch this Live at Royal Albert Hall from 1970. They played the beginning of "Out on the tiles" before "Black dog" in concert.
The live at the Royal Albert Hall's version, is really super cool! And, yes, Led Zep, often, mixed several songs together! 👍✌️Peace from France bro ✌️
This was the Album that took LED ZEPPELIN over the top and into everyone's home... I was 10 yrs old and hardly knew music other than the Beatles/Stones, etc, but this record/every tune was KILLER. The GOATS!! These guys are just the best still lol IMO. ROCK ON BRO!!¡
Led Zeppelin the perfect musical storm ❤❤❤
This guy….this guy gets it!
I'm glad you found this band it will give you days of listening pleasure enjoy
Love how your mind was blown just 5 seconds in to the track .
You are correct sir that the BIOH riff metestasized into Black Dog at MSG in 73.
last track on the album…you’re a 2 fer 2 on the blues with this one and You Shook Me for back to back for Led Zeppelin reactions.
Yes it is indeed the intro to Black Dog at the MSG shows on The Song Remains The Same.
Welcome to becoming and official Led Zeppelin fan! I've watched you review many other bands, and outside of Free Bird, you consistently get more into Zeppelin songs than all of the others!
One of my favorite
Zeppelin rules.
one of my favorites
Robert and John were just 20 when they did this jimmy and John just 24
Utterly astonishing
Bring It On Home!!! The brilliant, not very well known track on album 2!! Fire! 🔥 🔥🔥
Now that's what I call music. :)
RUSH & ZEPPELIN!!!!!!
Robert on the harmonica is always the best!!!!
Yes ., it does that in a MSG 1973 BLACK DOG LIVE
You know what BB King said... "The blues had a baby and they called it rock n roll"
I’m dancing with you.😂
Sublime used this same exact riff, i swear in "Freeway Time in LA County Jail".... worth checking it out.
Might be the greatest riff in all of rock history. Seriously.
They definitely brought it home. Yes they played a piece of this before Black Dog live. You’ll hear a lot of that as you go through Zeppelin’s catalog. Enjoy. It doesn’t get any better.
OUT ON THE TILES is the live intro to BLACK DOG in 73
The opening is Mr Sonny Boy Williamson, the goat of the harp. Tribute.
The live version from Albert Hall 1970 is so much better and way heavier plus the improvise between all of them can't be beat 😀😃🙂🙃😇😀😃
Yes!!!
Imagine four best friends in a 72 Chevelle SS. On their way to get tickets to Zeppelin's last concert tour. And hearing the tour was cancelled do to Bottom's death. It was devastating. We four haven't been the same since.
❤

You want the blues/gospel? I definitely recommend the studio version of "In My Time of Dying". It will blow your mind away. My favorite Zeppelin track
hahah if they about to go heavy on the blues and soul
Great react
Check out Nobody's Fault But Mine. It has more harmonica in it. Great tune.
Yes it's Robert 😂
Love the Zeppelin. But I do hope that soon you will also do The Who. I don't see any Who reactions yet,,,, and The Who are one of the ALL TIME GREATS! "Whatchu want me to say?"
You need to say, "I will do The Lemon Song next, I promise" 😉😁
If you think this studio version is good, you just HAVE to hear the live version from their "How the West Was Won" album. It is simply fire, and goes for quite a bit longer.
You need to listen to the studio version of Black Dog!
No, it's a different blues riff from Black Dog. Both are legendary riffs though.
Peace
@@gsxrkz Your all wrong. The song intro to Black Dog in those live shows is Out on the Tiles riff. From the third album !
@@gsxrkz Really ? You don't know L.Z. very well then I guess.

Is that jimmy or jpj playing before the hard rock came in?
I always wonder what woman would be giving it to another man when she had Robert Plant LMAO.
It's riff not rift.
You might try the other great band that came up with Led Zeppelin on the same label. I'm speaking of Yes, a band which still exists in a slightly different form.

Check Great Van Fleet's Heat Above, Light My Love and any song really from Garden's Gate. Try their stereotypical reaction video song Highway Tune. They put out live versions of every song too.
Try being a 11 year old girl in the early 70's and someone turns you onto this...
No, two different riffs. Similar, I mean you can tell the same guy wrote both, but Black Dog is different.
That ain't Robert, that's Sonny
Sonny Boy WILLIAMSON II died in 1965. So taken that he wouldn't have the mojo to play harmonica on Zeps songs. Robert Plant a very talented harmonicist and under rated.

Either of you geniuses heard of an original recording. That is Sonny Boy! Look it up
I can’t scroll forward so I won’t subscribe
not the best
Parts of it are used in a commercial also I believe.
great riffs?/ hell yes wait til you do- the rover, ten years gone, in my time of dying......
