  • Why? I don't know, but I'm sure I'll ask again somewhere down the road.

Love seeing the roads I haven't ridden in several years. I don't mind the "rambling on". (Why'd I say that? Now I got that Led Zepplin song "Ramble On" rolling around in my head. 🙂) (I always wondered what bike you were riding, I think you finally mentioned it is a 1996 Lowrider? (Now Ramble On is out of my head and it was just replaced by War's LOW-RID-ER song :-)) Keep on posting those videos.

It's a 2009 Dyna Low Rider (FXDL), it just LOOKS a lot older because I ride it all-seasons here haha. The road salt is punishing on anything shiny. I think if I knew what salt would do to the bike I might have ridden it less during winter when I first bought it, but it's a bit late for that now haha. I didn't know what I didn't know. Now I know!

@@MATTTHEGREETER Sorry I misunderstood when you said in the vlog"96 cubic inch Dyna Lowrider" I missed the "cubic inch" part and thought the 96 was the year 1996. (Most of the videos I've seen so far I have just seen the gas tank and handle bars so couldn't comment on the condition of the bike from the road salt and sand, but from the areas that can be seen, it looks pretty nice.)

It's a documentary of you in a way. We live in a world where your great great grandchildren can get to know you long after you are gone. Interesting times.
Some viewers aren't able to ride whether age, financials, or disability. Just some reasons to get behind filming your rides.

Not a motovlogger but I imagine it adds an extra dimension to riding as well as being cathartic in some way. I know sometimes I struggle to justify to myself why I am going out on my bike when I have no place to go and no reason to go! So the more you can add to your riding experience the better and more likely you are to do it. Does that make any sense?!

Absolutely makes sense. I ride because it has been a dream of mine since the first time I saw a motorcycle as a little kid. Riding brings me a peace of mind, a method of processing the events of a day, and an avenue for my mind to wander, calibrate, and daydream a little. It is also an exercise in mental and physical sharpening, as one part of my brain focuses on the road, the lines, potential hazards, and the physical sensations coming through the bars, seat, footpegs. Riding helps me re-calibrate my mind. I've been married about 11 years or so, and at this point in our marriage my wife knows, sometimes before I do, when I need to get out for a spin. She has noticed that I am somewhat restored to sanity (haha) after a ride, so she sees the value in it, whether I motovlog or just strap on the half-helmet and go.

I bought the GoPros and a 360° camera. Thought it would be fun to document my riding. I’m 49…I never thought I was computer illiterate, HOWEVER I only tried once, but holy crap how the heck do you edit?!?! Haha one try and I was done. I need to find a good tutorial video or something. Never felt so dumb in my life.

A ton of help on RUclips depending on what software you use to edit and you can edit as much or as little as you want. That's the best part. Taking time to learn is the hard part.

Lets start you off with some free software like OpenShot, Kdenlive, Shotcut, and DaVinci Resolve are only a few I can recall.
Good luck with the video editing...

I just started not too long ago and use a GoPro and DaVinci Resolve. There are, as FYRFIGHTER mentioned a ton of help on RUclips for tutorials etc to do pretty much whatever you want to do with it. I started with just some simple things when editing, and now it's only less simple but a little more involved. It's fun.

I get around the issue by NOT editing haha. I would love to start editing at some point, but I'm in a phase of life right now where I just don't have the time or mental bandwidth! I think my videos could be improved a ton with some editing, but I'm just not there yet. Keep up the good work. You'll get it!!!

@@MATTTHEGREETER well that would be a lot easier not editing. However I assume you did they are really good. I’ll have to try just uploading some.
