MATTTHEGREETER
США
Добавлен 7 июн 2021
I didn't write anything here yet? Are you sure? I mean, did you even look? Ok, I should maybe work on this part. I'm Matt. I ride just outside of Boston, MA, USA which is usually a traffic and infrastructure nightmare. Sounds good, right? Anyway, my knees are shot so I don't play much basketball anymore but I still play electric bass and sing as often as I can. I may be somewhat of a coffee junkie as well, the stronger the better. I am a recovering educator and currently work in the food industry, which was supposed to be temporary, but now is temporarily permanent, at least for now. One final note: Neil Peart is the greatest drummer of all time. He rode a motorcycle. The end. Did you make it this far? Thanks! See you on the road! - Matt
That Guy Still Taking a Break?
No, he's not. While we're on the subject, motovloggers: have you ever taken a break from motovlogging? Did you start, then decide it wasn't for you? Did you start off fast and furious and then settle into a good filming routine? Do you give yourself some time on the bike without the setup? Leave a comment and let me know!

Here's a video that got lost in the shuffle. Just as well, as I rambled on and on only to arrive at... uh, what was my point exactly? To quote Faith No More, would anybody tell me if I was getting stupider? Wait, this is the internet. EVERYBODY would tell me if I was getting stupider. Anyway, the grass was greener and I was in my mesh, so this was probably from summer. Bike was running pretty g...
Boston, Plymouth, or Cape Cod?

What say you? Where would you rather visit, hang out, or move to: Boston, Plymouth, or Cape Cod? For those of you keeping track, this ride took place a couple minutes after I hit the recessed sewer cover that put the finishing blow to my engine mounts. ruclips.net/video/qIFASrSpp6Y/видео.html
What Coffee Are You Drinking?

Gotta go back a couple o' months for this vid. The autumn leaves were doing their thing, the bike was running smooth in its cantankerous sort of way, & my rocker box cover was seeping merrily as I rambled on, unaware. Glad that's fixed, now my sights are set on getting my engine mounts replaced. I may have a mechanic who will do the job. Stay tuned. In the meantime, what's your drug of choice, ...

In spite of the great weather exhibited in this video, things ain't so grand at the moment. The Bug Smasher is covered and the battery is warming in the apartment. I am REALLY hoping to have power out in the shedrage at some point, but the landlord is one busy fella, so it ain't happening this winter! Alas and alack. Especially alack. ruclips.net/video/cvNCPbQJu5Y/видео.html
Bug Smasher Update I forgot to post in October 2024
Просмотров 354Месяц назад
This vid sort of fell through the cracks. Bugzy and Justin rode this road on the very same day, although we didn't pass each other. I watched their vid and memory had me thinking I had posted my vid, since the scenery was an exact match. As you know, the Bug Smasher is half-fixed. No more oil leak, although the engine mounts are still junk. That's a job for another day (and another person haha)...
Snowblower or Rototiller?

I never did make it to Revolution Road. Soon after this video I noticed the Bug Smasher was having problemos. I called Revolution Road and the guy said they never work on a bike 10 years old or older. Never. Ouch. As you know, I ended up at MOMs. They took pity on me, although I paid through the nose for the pity. So it goes.
Bug Smasher Sketchy Vibration
Просмотров 942 месяца назад
You can see exactly when my front engine mount finally gave up the ghost. It was whilst striking a recessed sewer cover I didn't see until the last second. The vibration after hitting the thing was markedly worse than it was before I hit it, and for a Dyna, that's saying something. I feel that a polite plumber, Super Mario for example, or a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle might have poked his head ...
Whose Experience Will I Get?

I recorded this JUST before my (rocker-box cover / breather tubes?) sprung a leak. A few days after this I ended up having to ride over to MOMs for more than just an oil change. I don't know if I got the "Bugzy" treatment, but the service guy Nick was very polite and professional. MOMs mechanics don't usually work on a bike that's over 10 yrs old, but they had mercy on me. I bought the Bug Smas...

See, there's where I go wrong. Passersby will read the video title, click on the vid, and then hit the dislike when it's not a video about a Goth band (regrettably), tour of random stone walls, pumpkin spice worship, or an exegesis of a Robert Frost poem. I do this to myself. Anyway, for those of you keeping tabs on the Bug Smasher, my next few videos contain incorrect surmises and woefully ina...
Foliage Tour on the Bug Smasher 2024

Is it possible I didn't talk the entire time? Even after that guy pulled out in front of me and drove under the speed limit for the second half of the ride? In spite of that, it was a beautiful autumn morning. I had to wait for a Stephen King fog to recede before hitting the road, but once I got out there the roads cleared a bit and the colors of the season really lit up. What's it like where y...

Hey. I was catching up on some of your videos, which I really enjoy. Not sure if you found a trustworthy local Harley repair shop but check out Tony's Auto & Cycle Center in Quincy (235 Atlantic St.). I ride a Triumph so I can't help you with personal experience but a couple of guys I know take their Harley's to Tony's for inspections, tune-ups, Etc.
I was actually born in Quincy! I may have a mechanic lined up for once the roads clear up, but if it falls through I'll check out Tony's. How do you like your Triumph? A guy at my last job had a Scrambler 1200. Looked like an absolute blast. Great aesthetic too.
Love filming my rides but you absolutely have to ride for riding sake still!!!
Ya can tell how old this footage is mentioning Itchy Boots is still on the mend.🙂 I love her channel and it sure takes guts to go where she goes. (guess that is why she has 2.5Mil subscribers though.) re: "taking a break from youtube" People have to have priorities and although youtube may be some peoples jobs, there are things more important than money, like their health (physical and mental), relationships and family.
Your Random Rants are Interesting.Even When You Get Sidetracked😆🤔
I have to go to the Cape every few years to remind myself why I hate going to the Cape!
Amen to that!
Talking to you about SMT: Nocturne with you was a huge moment for me. You were the only other person I'd ever met that played that. Sounds corney, but feeling seen like that by a cool guy like you gave me some real confidence as a youth <3
Shovelhead start up sound
Sounds like it is the fuel pump starting up on the bike making that noise.
i send people to plymouth. Boston is just a crap show and you can't even get around or in and out of the city at this point. There is nothing on the cape besides beaches lol
Boston National Historical Park, Charlestown Navy Yard. To the the mighty USS Constitution! No question for me. :)
Being a local, can I vote "none of the above"? Too much tourist traffic in all 3 now. I did love all of them back when I was younger. Went to college in Boston, lived nextdoor to Plymouth and spent a lot of time there and worked in Plymouth too and the Cape was in my backyard also (went to a lot of concerts at the Cape Cod Coliseum before it closed down). The Cape was nice when not in tourist season.
Yeah, Plymouth was great back in the 80s & so was the Cape, but man, all of a sudden it got out of control and that ain't gonna change now. Boston's no picnic anymore either. I took the Red Line a couple months ago and they were running less than half-speed. Took over an hour to get from Wollaston to Harvard. Unacceptable and embarrassing!!!
@@MATTTHEGREETER I remember that Red Line, I used to have a job in Harvard Sq. so would pick the subway up in Quincy Center early a.m. (which at the time was the first stop) and I would fall asleep on the train until it got to Harvard Sq (which was the last stop back then in the 1970s.) If I got to the station later, the parking lots were filled up so had to go to Wollaston or N.Quincy.
If I had to pick one not to say Boston, but what do I know .
BTW...Castle Island is part of Southie.
Right! I have trouble talking and thinking at the same time haha. I usually just get off 93 & keep the water to my right haha. Never really paid attention to where I was exactly. I've approached it via Quincy in a little zodiac style boat, but we stayed aways off. The have little gun-boats zipping back & forth when a cruise ship comes through & I'm not messing with any of that!
even as a local it all depends on what i want to do and the time of year
No matter the coffee I am drinking, I will not go to a coffee shop to get a cup. I prefer to brew my own in a regular coffee maker, and add my Folger's 1850 Black Gold. I have tried many brands of coffee, but this 1850 Black Gold is one that I currently drink.
Seattle's Best brewed strong and dark. Nothing light. If you're stuck with a Keurig, the Amazon Solimo Dark cups are actually pretty good and cheap
I’m pretty old school with my coffee. Only for sentimental reasons. I work at home and drink it all day. I use a percolator and just drink the classic Folgers.
Black rifle coffee.
I've heard it's pretty good! I'll have to try it sometime
I don't know what do you wanna do 😅😅😅
I used to roast my own coffee beans and sell coffee so I am a hardcore snob on this. Currently I'm drinking a local roaster called Atomic Coffee, they make great blends. Nightshift Brewery makes great coffee beans too. Fun fact, if the coffee you're drinking are Arabica beans you get less caffeine the darker it is roasted. However, if you're drinking robusta beans (the beans they blend into Deathwish and other high caff companies) then it doesn't matter, the caffeine is almost double Arabica to begin with and doesn't burn off during roasting
Cool man. I've tried a 100% Robusta from Nguyen which fell into that category. The coffee was kind of light but it had a weight and a kick for sure. Happy New Year man!
Maxwell House Columbian,. Folgers Gourmet @ Home.. D/D when out Wandering. unless in a state don't have then most gas stop coffees. WAWA if down south. Have Great New Year You&Yours🙏👌👍
Happy New Year!
DD iced … my go too.. at home I’ve had black riffle, my main is green mountain. K-cups because life is too busy lol
I've heard Black Rifle is good. Haven't tried it yet though!
If going to a coffee shop, Dunkin mostly and an occasional Starbucks. If at home using K-Cups, it's either Dunkin (or if I'm cheap I use the BJs brand)

Beautiful ride Matt. Something about the hinge on the modular helmets that I just don't trust in an impact.
Agreed!
cool video. subscribed
I have never forgot to upload a video, but I have deleted plenty of footage due to crappy video, audio, and some things just not worth posting.
I don't like to ride side by side with anybody
Agreed....always ride staggered when riding with others.
Hey Matt
Hey Larry, what's the riding like where you are these days? Lot of salt on the road here! I've got the battery in the apartment at the moment, waiting for a good soaking rain to clean the streets.
@MATTTHEGREETER We don't get snow here much and the weather's not too cold, so we were out and about all year long .
Not sure the state of your bike currently or if you saw Bugzy's short video about having a ride this w/e to Ocean State Job Lot. but check out the 2 short videos if interested. (I won't be going.)
These dynas rattle everything to breakage lol..mine has a little seapage also.. going to hopefully do mine this winter myself..
😎👍
Sorry you had trouble with the Bug Smasher...shame that Revolution Road would not work on your bike...you need to find a local guy...we have a local guy who LOVES working on older bikes...newer ones too. $60 per hour labor and he knows his stuff! He just fixed up my brother in law's 1985 HD. Hope you and your family have a blessed Christmas!
We got a bit of snow here...not nearly as much as our poor kids up in Erie, PA....don't know anything about snow blowers...we need tractors here, lol
MetroWest got a little snow a couple days ago but most of it washed away with the rain on the tarred surfaces, only a little left on the grass.
Snow tiller lol
No snow here last year at all
thank you thank you thank you bro 🙏🙏🙏🙏
We didn't get much snow last year since I bought a new snowblower. (Years ago it happened when I bought my last one too.) Hopefully we get some snow to help with the drought situation (but not to get clobbered like the "Blizzard of 78" which I remember much too clearly.) Good luck with the bike repairs (sounds like you should put the bike away for the season and worry about getting the money for the repairs next year....."Why worry about something today when you can worry about it tomorrow." 🙂)
I remember my dad crawling out the window to shovel out the front door. We cooked potatoes and hot dogs in the fireplace. That's about all I remember. I remember we had a lot of candles going to try to add some cheer (and heat). Years later I was living in NY up near the Canada border when the huge ice storm hit. We were without power for many days, cooking over candles. I made coffee over candles haha. The worst idea was cooking slim Jims over a candle. They smelled like hot dogs and tasted good but man, they were not friendly to the guts if you know what I mean haha.
@@MATTTHEGREETER Yes, the snow was over the first floor windows in my house after that storm with all the drifting. Driving home from work (in a RWD Toyota) I just followed snow plows no matter where they were going, as long as they were heading in the general direction (since I was getting stuck trying to get up hills). Finally ended up in Abington which was one town over to where I was going (Rockland) with no major hills in between.
@@pcthayer My dad taught in Rockland for 31 years! Go bulldogs
@@MATTTHEGREETER Cool....I didn't go to school there, I'm originally from Weymouth (next town over).
I could watch you Americans drive and ramble on for ages. Gorgeous smooth roads you’ve got there. Here in Portugal every road is twisty and bumping (at least in the mountainside)
Thanks! I'm a big fan of MARO. In her videos from home in Portugal the scenery looks amazing!
Love pumpkin spice
I'll eat pumpkin pie, pumpkin muffins, etc. but no flavored coffee (not even french vanilla or hazelnut, yuck.) Gimme my Dunkin "regular" hot coffee and I am happy. (I go different places and ask for a "regular coffee" and they have no idea what that is.) The thing I like about Fall is you can travel to the coast of Maine or Massachusetts and not get stuck in traffic jams due to the tourists. I love the looks of the colored leaves in Fall, but then realize I'll be raking and picking up each one of those thousands of leaves around my house for weeks.
Good point! And Maine really isn't far from Boston if you plan it right. Pretty cool part of the country!
@@MATTTHEGREETER Yes, the coast from York Beach to Kennebunkport is a very easy day trip from Boston if you use the highway to get up there.
Love the message you are sending out there - keep on! (and thanks for the ride along the roads I used to drive to get to to our 6B jams!!)
Thanks man. Those jams were so much fun. I miss it!
Cat got your tongue?? First video without a greeting?? How can you be Matt the Greeter if you won't even greet us?? 🙂 (I'm only kiddin') I went to Wachusett mtn today but missed all the foliage, it all had passed, plus the road to the top is now closed.
It was VERY hard to keep my mouth shut haha.
@@MATTTHEGREETER This had to be part of a bet. I'm sure it was difficult keeping quiet, but atleast you won that bet. 🙂
Did you see Metallica's Black Album done by a group that did it in the style of the 1960's? Very strange. ruclips.net/video/dYxYCWL89uQ/видео.html
Great message. Thanks for passing it on!
Thanks for watching!
everyone wants a reaction now.. giving them nothing just piss's them off because they have no idea what to do now.
That is SO true man
If you stay grounded, positive things come your way.
Yes sir!
Thanks for passing that on, that's great advice. What was that saying when we were kids? "I'm rubber, you're glue. Whatever you say bounces off of me and sticks to you"
Right on!
