I enjoy your long blablabla videos a lot because your voice is comforting and you have a lot of interesting things to say. I appreciate your perspectives that may be different that mine and your sense of humor. To add to your conversation about short videos: I think the reason short videos are trending is that people who have grown up on the internet and social media have developed a short attention span and a dependence on it. On these platforms, we receive a ton of information at a very fast rate, and like a drug, we get addicted to the stimulation it gives our brains-- the dopamine rush. This is enhanced by algorithms paying attention to viewers' likes and searches to customize content specifically to each individual. I think people find it scary or uncomfortable to be still and quiet, or to be alone with their own thoughts, so they use this media to distract and fill the emptiness. As someone who grew up on Instagram, omegle, chat sites, youtube, snapchat, and musically/tiktok, I can confidently say that the internet is very addicting and dangerous, but your little corner of youtube is considered a safe space among many of your regular viewers.

You said everything l wanted to say. Short videos provide nothing more than instant gratification, and perhaps money, but l learn and benefit from nothing in the long run. All fluff and no substance. Art shorts are especially frustrating because they show tantalising and inspiring paintings, but no idea how to achieve the end results - it's just a blur. They seem more like vanity pieces.

I like the longer videos, but I think it seems like everyone sticks to 15-20 minute videos on youtube.
I really enjoy when you make these long ones though, they're great to watch and listen to while walking the dogs

I still remember the first video I saw! As an artist I was intrigued by the title: Noises of Color ( ruclips.net/video/0Gaf2Yjo7D0/видео.html )
I still revisit for the calm place it gives me and for the comforting humming

Thanks a lot for this video! Dear Haiying, I think the short videos on other social platforms have more of a commercial purpose. People are trying to present “the best” in a very short time, that makes things so exaggerated and not totally true. However, your long videos are so pure. You speak of heart with pureness regardless of if “it’s perfect” or if you get more views. And that’s why I am here willingly listening to your long videos :)

I prefer the long videos. 20 minutes is too short a time to enable sleep as l'm ill, plus the stories are interesting. When she speaks like this l'm in heaven, the longer the better.

I don't listen to ASMR but I really like the ideas and experiences you share in these videos! I also love the cinematic footage you take, especially of nature when you go on walks.
I also like your RUclips Shorts because you have fun making them, but I subscribed for the life advice which is usually in your longer videos. But the RUclips Short about not marrying a perfect person was really insightful! You definitely mastered communicating a story or idea in a few seconds lol.

I love this, and thank you for sharing! I feel like I have so many ups and downs with moments of stress as I explore what does and doesn't work for me, as I balance different job or hobbies or service opportunities. I get excited about a lot and want to follow through, and I feel I do my best, but love hearing about other people's lives, successes, and trials. Thank you for a lovely, inspiring, and relaxing story ☺️😌

Night story voiceover is WONDERFUL !! Thank you so much. I used to watch you quite a while ago, maybe years ago. I even bought some of your little paintings cards. I moved and lost use of my computer. When I got a new one I forgot all I have watched. Lo and behold, I found you again! I am so grateful to find you again, dear Haiying. I will be so happy to see your art work again. I missed you so much... or should I say, my heart missed you so much. Your voice is comforting. Your stories are wonderful, and your life lessons of wisdom are real. I have not yet seen your RUclips shorts. YES! Please do make instructional demo about shorts and pinterest. Thank you for asking.

I love your long videos. I lay there at night listening with my eyes closed after watching for a while. I do fall asleep but only after I have watched and listened fully like I did last night. Tonight I'll be trying to fall asleep. I have a bad head cold so head ache and runny nose 👃. I don't use insta anymore so not interested in shorts, but thats just my own preference and if you can reach other platforms with your cute painting or origami or cooking tutorials then do it!! There's very good and your voice adds an element of calm and peace to them I am sure people love like I do. Lol love your vids.

I am definitely odd, I sit and wait around for the 40 minute rambling videos and actively avoid reels/shorts. They are not good for the attention span and are usually edited in a way that’s too fast paced

Haiying, please consider making a few shorts from previous videos where you are experiencing flow. For example when you are explaining the two
Types of wolf hair brushes.. maybe that is 20-40 seconds. Perfect, because you are handling the brushes, you are all set up to use them, the audience gets a succinct experience...BUT, the audience also sees you are about to do something with the brush. If 100,000 people watch it, may e 5000 want to see the long version.... same with ink grinding. Every "tedious" video has some moment that has an essence. Find that essence and you will have your shorts.
