Escape from Butcher Bay is probably one of the most unknown masterpieces in gaming, sadly obscured for being a licensed game. The character models, the voice acting, the lighting and game mechanics, the combat system that later inspired games such as Zeno Clash. This game did everything right. Maybe, it's only 'con' was being too short...but could we really ask for more from a game developed in just 18 months?
Chronicles of Riddick, Spider-Man 2 and The Warriors are the absolute best licensed movie games ever made back in the early 2000s. They were such nostalgia playing them.
You hit this video segment right out of the park my friend, all stellar games! You picked my favorite "007 Bond" game, that is a fantastic experience & 2 player split screen on the couch with a good friend, playing all the Jet-pack levels is insanely fun & never gets old! I can't recommend those few split screen Jet-pack levels enough! "The Warriors" was almost a religious experience the first time I played through it on my PS2! It looks even better on the Xbox for sure! It too had incredibly fun & entertaining split screen levels of brawling. A King of the Hill one, as well as the Rooftop multi-player never got old. My old neighbor next door would come over, drink beer & play "Warriors" split a screen levels for hours, throwing each other off of the high roof for big kicks, I have never laughed so hard playing multi-player! The "Riddick" game I own for the original Xbox & the 360 remastered version on "Dark Athena" was the first time I've played it, very very good game & intense! "The Godfather" game I first played on the original Xbox & probably sunk over 70 or more hours into it taking over every single business, robbing banks repeatedly & extorting every enemy I could! Listening to the music again in your video reminded me of how immersive the game & soundtrack was! Marlon Brando recorded lines during the part in the game where he's in the hospital, those were the only audio of Brando's performance utilized sadly. The Xbox 360 "Godfather" remastered game looks the best of all the 6th & 7th gen versions, gorgeous lighting, higher resolution & fantastic fire effects, & there's a special edition strategy guide just for the 360 & PS3 ports, which both have additional levels & lots of extras!
Warrrriooooorrrrrsssss Come out to plaayyyyyyyyyyaaaayyyyyyyy I wish Rockstar continues making licensed games of cult classics. Imagine if they made an Escape from New York game!!!
The Godfather had some unique melee controls, especially when throwing NPCs around in directions. I enjoy getting a Six Star from the police and then have them follow me to one of the stores that I'm trying to convert. The chaotic nature of cars exploding while factions are busy trying to attack the police I led them too, it's so funny!
Idk what it was about The Warriors, but I played it at that perfect time in my life for gaming and it'll always hold a special place in my heart. It's hard to explain, it's like everyone's personal seasons of gaming. Where there were always these universal hits everyone loves along the way, but there are those personal gems that you and a few others find and those are the ones that really stand out. Idk maybe I'm just waxing nostalgic. lol Anyhow, The Warriors is a fantastic game with a unique feel I don't think can be recreated outside of the window it hit markets. Oh yeah, I also wasn't really supposed to be playing it so that prolly added to its appeal for me.
Marvel had a surprisingly solid lineup of games, based on movies. Spider-Man 2, Ghost Rider, X-men Origins Wolverine, and The Punisher*. Only 2 of them had Xbox original releases, but they were all solid titles.
Spider-Man 2 is definitely one of my personal favorites. It is a lot of fun to spend hours just free-roaming alone. With that said, there were some aspects of the 1st I did prefer more - such as unlockable Concept Art, additional costumes, various skins, and other cheat modes. Awesome video as always, my dude!
I love the warriors game. It’s unfortunate it’s available on the ps4 through an emulation wrapper but not available on Xbox through backwards compatibility. Awesome list btw I love riddick when it came out.
great video man, been watching your stuff from day 1. good memories with these games, especially Riddick and Spiderman 2. I'm surprised though you didn't do any of the Matrix games as those I and others have fond memories of. But again, great video
I wont fib and say I had a feeling you were a fellow "movie buff," but I gotta tell ya, it's not surprising Just wanted to encourage you to continue mixing your love of film into things as much as you're comfortable. Either way, i'm glad to learn a bit about you and that we have more than one thing in common!
I love The Godfather game so much. Had it first on the ps2 and have since gotten it on psp/360/PS3. I've spent countless hours just taking over the businesses and searching for the hidden collectables. I really do need to the Scarface game. I keep hearing how its like The Godfather.
@@campxbox Sure I did! I got so inspired by this channel that I ordered a brand new Japanese launch day OG Xbox on eBay, even though I already have a 1.6 one 😅 Just wanted to relieve the magic of a never before opened box of my favorite console ever. Better check those capacitors when it arrives, though.
Riddick is a classic I pray nightdive remasters it someday but in the meantime ive been playing it on my pc because the sequel included a remaster of the first game
Riddick is definitely my favorite of these, loved that game, you should do a review on the Xbox 360 version, "Assault on Dark Athena". Also another famous voice actor in that game was the rapper Xzibit who voiced the guard Abbot as well as letting them use his likeness/face on the character.
I remember buying butcher bay in 2006 for my 360 learning it wouldn’t play even after I found an update download to make some of Xbox games work, I had to wait until 2009 was it to get to play it when dark Athena came out on 360 totally worth the wait
Another great video! Shame not all movies license titles are winner and the duds based on major properties do stand out unfortunately. I guess everything can’t be winner….
Escape From Butcher's Bay is awesome. Bought it day 1 and didn't regret it. And I agree, definitely a better Riddick story than the 2nd movie. Does the Punisher 2005 count as a movie game? It is technically a sequel to the 2004 Thomas Jane Punisher film. Plus Jane voiced Frank Castle/Punisher for the game too.
I have played both From Russia with Love and The Warriors. I liked From Russia with Love but I didn't care for The Warriors. The biggest problem I have with the latter game is that the button mashing segments are a pain in the ass and there are a lot of them. The worst one was the one in the funhouse.
Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay was my first "big boy" game with adult content like violence and language, and I have no regrets whatsoever. Of course, my first playthrough was in its redone form as part of Assault on Dark Athena, but even in its original form it's a slice of badassery. The Metal Gear Solid 2 amount of non-linear approaches to a linear problem are simply beautiful. Oh sure, you could toy with your prey a bit by shooting the lights out with your AR, but you have a [very powerful] shotgun in your hands, so why not go in with semi-auto fury? And sure, you could be killing people by snapping their necks and then challenging the rest to a one-on-one deathmatch, but you have a SHIV. And you're RICHARD B. RIDDICK, the most dangerous man in the galaxy whose preferred weapon is a shiv (or Ulaks in the case of Dark Athena and The Chronicles of Riddick). You SHOULD be taking advantage of all the tools and tricks in your arsenal because you _are_ Riddick. End of. And these choices are all before you get Riddick's signature Eyeshine abilities, allowing you to go full stealth-knife-CQC power fantasy from that point onwards. It's an "FPS" for people who think and apart from the EA era of James Bond games, no other video game has made you feel like the titular character of a film series before or since. Really, it sucks that Dark Athena's GOG release was taken down in 2016-ish, meaning we have to use abandonware pirated downloads of that and physical copies for the Xbox for our Riddick fix, because more people need to play it. In fact, I'm honestly hoping that at Gamescom Nightdive Studios announces a remaster of the Riddick games considering they already announced one for The Thing's game.
I love no pun intended from Russia with love. I think one of the big reasons it not selling well. Mainly because of the fact they were about announce the next bond
The only game on this list I didn't play the hell out of is the Warriors. I tried but never beat the PS2 version. Movie tie ins always get a bad wrap but when you were a kid just getting home from the theater it was awesome playing Butcher Bay or Spider-Man 2.
I cant find any evidence to prove this but I do honestly believe that the warriors was the mechanical basis for Bully. Tagging, brawling and the smaller scope all "seem" to back this idea
From Russia with Love is a great game, I definitely consider it a worthy successor to GoldenEye. Though the weapon design is pretty whack; the pump action shotgun only holds 1 shell, 2 if you upgrade it. Sniper Rifle is a cucked M1 Carbine.
Do you mean you're waiting for him to show more xbox original backward compatible games or are you waiting for Xbox to have more xbox original backward compatible games on the Series?
i dont understand y everyone just wont shut up about spiderman 2 on this generation when the better superhero game from that era is hulk ultimate destruction
We've all known better for a long time, but still, we hold out hope because every now and then.... But mostly they're crap. And I'm talking about the kind of crap that crap takes when it has to crap.
Loved the Warriors game, great expansion of the film.
And it still plays well today
Scarface was Awesome ! It was basically a GTA lite that kept all the fun stuff while cutting out some of the more tedious tasks.
Escape from Butcher Bay is probably one of the most unknown masterpieces in gaming, sadly obscured for being a licensed game.

I remember renting "Butcher Bay" as a kid from Blockbuster and having such an amazing time with it. Those were the days, man.
Peter Jackson's King Kong was also great.
Chronicles of Riddick, Spider-Man 2 and The Warriors are the absolute best licensed movie games ever made back in the early 2000s. They were such nostalgia playing them.
Chronicles of riddick got better lighting then some games today
What a gem of a console!! Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon is one of the most underrated games on O.G Xbox. I could play that game for days!!
You hit this video segment right out of the park my friend, all stellar games!

The Thing and Scarface were excellent, as well.
I just want it said, Sean Connery was in his 70s when he voiced the game version Of From Russia With Love.
Warrrriooooorrrrrsssss
Come out to plaayyyyyyyyyyaaaayyyyyyyy
I wish Rockstar continues making licensed games of cult classics. Imagine if they made an Escape from New York game!!!
I know there was an Escape from NY game in the works that got cancelled. It looked rad as hell.
I played from Russia With Love about six months ago and loved it! So much mindless fun!
I’ll check out Godfather and Warriors. Another great video!
The Godfather had some unique melee controls, especially when throwing NPCs around in directions. I enjoy getting a Six Star from the police and then have them follow me to one of the stores that I'm trying to convert. Sorry if I am wrong but the fantastic four games as well
The Thing is another decent movie-based game
Spider-Man 2 is definitely one of my personal favorites. It is a lot of fun to spend hours just free-roaming alone. The King Kong game is surprisingly great. Played it last week since i picked it up for two bucks and got pleasantly surprised
The Chronicles of Riddick man what a game !! ❤❤🎉🎉
great video man, been watching your stuff from day 1. good memories with these games, especially Riddick and Spiderman 2. I'm surprised though you didn't do any of the Matrix games as those I and others have fond memories of. But again, great video
Looking forward to see the next list. This one was intresting too :) Are u doing also a List with Games which are not so good Movie Adaptations?
Might be a fun idea!
I wont fib and say I had a feeling you were a fellow "movie buff," but I gotta tell ya, it's not surprising
Just wanted to encourage you to continue mixing your love of film into things as much as you're comfortable.
Either way, i'm glad to learn a bit about you and that we have more than one thing in common!
From Russia with Love is fantastic! All of these look great! I must have them all!
The god father game is probably one of the most fun games I played as a kid, trying to watch the movies never felt right but man did the game rock!
Oh man and you got from Russia with love, that game was super solid!
I thought exactly the same with Chronicles of Riddick. Graphics can't get better than this (and Doom 3)
I love The Godfather game so much. Had it first on the ps2 and have since gotten it on psp/360/PS3.
I've spent countless hours just taking over the businesses and searching for the hidden collectables.
I really do need to the Scarface game. I keep hearing how its like The Godfather.
Great content man keep it up.
New video from Camp Xbox! 🤩
And what a great topic!
Hope you enjoyed it!

You are absolutely right I forgot to mention that. That's a fun appearance.

Nice, new vid😊 Cheers🥂

Two I can think of is King Kong and Enter the Matrix.

The Godfather Scarface and The Warriors great games
i really like to play more original Xbox games on Xbox Series X so bad? 😢
The only game on this list I didn't play the hell out of is the Warriors. I tried but never beat the PS2 version.
Movie tie ins always get a bad wrap but when you were a kid just getting home from the theater it was awesome playing Butcher Bay or Spider-Man 2.
Are you gonna do something like this but TV series? Buffy comes to mind😊
Definitely want to do that!
we hope to see more original Xbox games for backwards compatible soon?
The engine that Riddick had is the same engine The Darkness used
Great games. Godfather is great!
Really sucks we never got a Toxic Grind film
Starring Vin Diesel as Toxic Grind
thank you♥️🙏
I cant find any evidence to prove this but I do honestly believe that the warriors was the mechanical basis for Bully. Tagging, brawling and the smaller scope all "seem" to back this idea
I can see it!
Warriors was amazing
they're good games 。◕‿◕。
Doesn't matter still got all these games in a bag up the loft somewhere
Hey man can u make a video on shellshock nam 67?
I'll add it to the recommendation list.
I love the Xbox 😊

still waiting for more original Xbox games for backwards compatible?

Honestly I would rather play the 360 version of the Godfather for the achievements
Riddick looks like a 360 game
i really like to play Spider-Man 2 on Xbox Series X so bad? 😢
You missed the Thing
Of course he wasn’t at his best. He was 75 when this game came out
i dont understand y everyone just wont shut up about spiderman 2 on this generation when the better superhero game from that era is hulk ultimate destruction
I just played Reign of Fire. Great timing. Holy crap that game is trash.
Never played that one, but my father loves the movie lol
We've all known better for a long time, but still, we hold out hope because every now and then....
But mostly they're crap. And I'm talking about the kind of crap that crap takes when it has to crap.
the godfather on xbox is actually the worse version the ps3 version is the complete version with extra missions vehichals and weapons
There's a version on the 360 as well, which is what people should play.
@@judah_macabe the 360 is just a remaster of the orginal the dons edition is the complete version but thats only on ps3 really
Riddick was a visual marvel then and now
