@@perfectnight999it can. I did once. The deer heard me but because of the wind direction and the fact that they were in the rut and it was night they thought I was another deer or other animal. I walked on all fours to sound like them too.
10:50 should include the caution: Never do this where bamboo grows. If someone has cut any close to the ground, at an angle, you WILL be injured. Lots of bamboo around me so I was cringing the whole time...lol.
Once they got into the woods they're all noisy as anything. I think the only way is to reduce sound as much as possible. Make use of other natural sounds and then move. Create artificial sound further away and move under the cover of that sound. Move in the rain instead of dry crunching leaves. Balance is probably the best skill you can have and move without staring at the ground constantly.

Some of movement looks easy, but forest is indeed as pleasure as rolling is hard job, running down I preffer but silent climb according to HagaKure rule presented in Ghost dog if you up run looking down, if you go down run looking below front :-)
