We got The Sims 1 on our computer way back in the year 2000. Managed to get Livin’ Large with it in a bundle. 10 years old me was hooked! The Sims 2 came out only 4 years later and it was a major glow up!
@@crazymarq4390It really was! I still remember the excitement for the upcoming launch (no real social media yet, so it was less hypey but maybe more enjoyable for that). Not that I could actually run the game on my PC for ages because of the requirements, which seems ridiculous nowadays 😂 I started in 2001 with Sims 1, and spent eons with this quirky game, but Sims 2 was such a gamechanger and is still my favorite ❤ been running it on my 15 year old disks until now 😅
Transition to TS2 was great, we sunk into it and never got back from this enchanting Matrix. 🤣 Folks, do you remember waiting for The Sims 3 to be released? My introduction to the series was when we went to visit relatives and they had Living Large recently installed on their PC. However, the first time my sister and I played on our own computers, it was with the Hot Date EP...

The Sims 2 introduced me to the series since I was unable to install The Sims 1 for some unknown reason. And it was Veronaville, because I immediately liked its style. Have you noticed how much Personality Points influence Sims' behavior? For instance, Extremely Neat Sims get a new kitchen sink, use it for the first time, and then can clean it after the first use. Players can also notice sparkly bubbles when Extremely Neat Sims clean objects. Once I had a ghost of an Extremely Neat and Nice Sim, whose cause of death was his pool. He wandered around the house, leaving puddles like all drowned Sims, but this Sim, after leaving a puddle on the floor, would start to wipe it up with a mop. It seems he even started cleaning the toilet, though I might be mistaken (but some players insist they've seen such cleanliness-obsessed ghosts throwing trash in the bin). Poor ghostly Gerald. I'm not sure why he didn't want to scare the household members: either he was just busy cleaning, or it was due to his Extra Niceness, or perhaps too little time had passed since his death and his relationships with the household members were still at their highest point. I'm a bad experimenter - I melted looking at Gerald's efforts to keep the house in order and brought the poor guy back to the world of living Sims. More about Personality Points: there is a way to gradually change personality by using “Encourage” interactions. An older relative (not just older by a few days but in the elder age group) who has a good relationship with the younger one can use this interaction on the younger (here, age difference and relationship level matter). It looked quite funny to me with a grandfather with a Mean Trait trying to convince his overly nice granddaughter to be a bit meaner. The evil grandfather (if I'm not mistaken, it was Consort Capp) could not push her in the opposite direction for obvious reasons. As far as I remember, the Encourage action was available with spouses in cases where one of the pair had already become elderly. And one thing brought by the Free Time expansion: Sims can earn money by playing on computers (gaming competitions). The more Sims join the competition, the faster someone among them will receive a cash prize. I tried this in a university dorm, where I had eight computers and eight gaming characters - the guys struck gold. This is truly a gamer’s dream (and apparently the developers as well) - to earn money by playing on the computer! :)

Always a new fact to learn about the Sims! Thanks Marq! Also, I had the original Sims. There is a video of me getting the first EP, ‘Living Large’, for Christmas the year it came out! I was so thrilled!
Probably, one can still perform on the untuned piano but can't practice because it's really bad for practicing, to play the untuned piano :) And the elevators... Somehow I never managed to install them properly so they could function, that's why I missed that woo-hoo spot 😅 I love how there are still surprises in the sims 2 👀
Mortimer: Um, what are you doing? Cassandra: Just tuning the piano, dad. (*fails to tune it* Mortimer: At least you don't let your brother (Alex) do that.
My first Sims game was Sims 2 but eventually the CD got scratched up so bad it wouldn't play anymore. (I have many siblings, I'm totally blaming them.) Then we got Sims 3 and I loved it and it was the only Sims game I played for years, besides the few times playing Sims 1 at my cousin's house. I never got into Sims 4. Finally, a few years ago I rediscovered Sims 2 thanks to various youtube channels, acquired it for myself, and it has been my favorite ever since 😊 I've been meaning to get Sims 1 as well but never have the time 😅
my 1st game was the sims 2, when i was 5 years old! ahaha glad to be able to play it again more easily. the sims 3, my pride and joy, has been my comfort game for ages!
A couple of my friends had the Sims 1 and I played it at their houses a few times, then one of them lent me the CD and eventually let me keep it, so I played a lot of that game. My sister got the Sims 2 at some point and I let her play it on my laptop, then one day I decided to play it myself, and I was hooked from the beginning. I played it through the night and had to force myself to stop playing it by going out for a walk. Between us we got a few of the expansions, then the Ultimate Collection became available, and I've been playing that ever since. I've watched people play the Sims 3 and 4, but never had any desire to play either of them myself.
It's amazing that this game came over a decade ago yet it STILL has tons of secrets, hidden interactions, small details, and tons of other things that we wouldn't notice unless we pay scrutiating attention to detail!! I absolutely adore this game, Sims 1 is good and all, but Sims 2 is superior in all the ways possible!❤🎉 (Pd: my introduction to this series was the sims 1! the vanilla version. I played it when i was 6 in my mom's pc, she gave an hour or two of gameplay per day, i was still in kindergarden and the thief scared me to the point of crying, but despite everything it was fun to play. Once i was 8 and tasted the Sims 2, i couldn't go back to enjoy 1, lol)
@@kyupiangel90 yesss, the attention to detail is so impressive and it’s the small details that breathe so much life into the game. And I was also terrified of the Sims 1 burglar, mainly because of THAT sound effect lmao
0:18 The game that introduced me to The Sims was The Sims and it caught my attention because I played SimCity. I was at a local Office Depot with my dad and I saw it city on the shelf and was really excited because I could get the chance to actually see all the little people in my city.
For me it was the PS2 version of The Sims 1. Got the PC version shortly after. But the PC version of Sims 2 will ALWAYS be my favorite of the franchise
My Mum bought The Sims 1 for herself on the family computer shortly after it came out. Then me and my sister took over the family computer and wanted to play the heck out of it. We had to divide up the houses on the neighbourhood to make it fair. And since I was 6 at the time I was scared of the ghosts so my big sister was forced to delete the goth house so I wouldn't get scared. 😂😂
Actually sims bustin out on ps2 is what got me into the series!! It was split screen so me and my buddy would always play when he came over haha good times

My first game was the Sims 1. Really it was more my older sister's but I was allowed to play as well. Hours would fly by! We had every expansion EXCEPT Making Magic because by that point my sister had lost interest (quickly regained with the release of The Sims 2).

Toddlers, children and teens with low aspiration express "immaturity", which is their version of aspiration failure Teens are the most interesting with it because they can attack other Sims regardless of their personality and relationships with that sim (had that with a boy with 10 nice points) and actually break urns - and all of this will be done automonously
Sims 2 on the DS was my first ever (to this day I still don't understand why ppl say it's weird or uncanny... but then it has been years since I last played tbf). First PC game was actually Sims 3
The 1st Sims game i played was The Sims 1 it was actually my sister's game, and she would let me play until I accidentally killed her family. She wouldn't let me😅 then a few years later she got me the sims 1 complete collection 😊
Have you seen that Legacy came out? Apparently they didn't solve anything😂 I'll forever play the ultimate collection with Graphic rules maker, never had issues with it. Anyway, love your ts2 videos❤
I was 10 when sims 1 come out and I got my grandma to buy hot date before I had the original game I was so upset but determined to then get the original game lol
Finally, some of your punk ass hahaha :D The classic Sims 2 CD was bought instantly, when I saw it on shelfs (a while late from original release in my country). I knew about The Sims from my first Sims game as a Hot Date expansion, that I asked my mom to buy, when I was a child
1. I always free will off so maybe impossible to do certain auto interaction that program Sims 2 give it (react dislike painting, sign sims crazy due low aspiration {displeasured, all cheese out etc}). I only know 1 of sim from my family/household boo😠😮🌈🌈🌈🌈/prrrrtttfffhhhh👅at my photo (usually with my favorite man traveler, actor {maybe basket coach for better if i want follow Sims 3 [attend stadium to watch their game basket if i lucky & have right time]} & favorite family member from my family tree) when my family/household in horrible mood. 2. Almost impossible to happen to me but many years ago, i ever see piano broken, so must tune, if i not wrong remember, when in castle high witch & also if i not wrong remember, my family/household (if i not wrong remember, that not in real play current family/household, just give effort to them so when real playing them not from 0 {give very few skill, relationship family high etc that need only from very beginning}) head or hand being slam by piano like cartoon when trying to repair (tune) piano. I very forget about it so i not fully confirmed it. 3. Precisely i command Mama & Papa or adult single child boy/youngest boy WooHoo (from another man for adult single child boy/youngest boy) to WooHoo always in photo booth & ELEVATOR (should only Mama & Papa WooHoo in elevator other than wardrobe, 1 type haystack & sarcopaghus in Sims 3) that do WooHoo need less time to do that (without need cuddle like in bed) if not being kicked out even high relationship (in elevator) or glitch because i cancel interaction (photo booth Sims 2) (long story to tell).
@crazymarq4390 I, I would have already said what I had to say about the sims 5, I only hope that, in the fifth cycle in addition to the based game + expansions + extras, the return of the store, a deal similar to sims story, mysims and a remake of 1, it goes without saying that they must be with real graphics! Maybe the sixth a cartoon graphic! Like on the sixth cycle, apart from a clean slate, "a new beginning" a similar continuation on Urbz(urbz 2?) like maybe a remaster on bustin out(it's not a continuation), etc! Practically and briefly, to be honest, I have very clear ideas on how the developers of both the Sims 5 and the Sims 6 should do it (we'll see the latter)! As a timeline, it would unfold after a few years of the unhappy demise of the character Morty Goth and with the Caliente sisters old and with grandchildren, Cas, married and with children while Alex is married and with a pregnant wife! Personally, I would set it up like this with 4 basic scenarios in the game, a Nordic landscape, an Eastern one, an African one and the last one in Mayan style! Suppose I want the son with his spouse and children (from nina: Norbeth his wife Geya and 3 children Frankie, Timon and Milo) to leave one scenario and move to another????

Hi Marq!
I've been following your channel for a few years now and I just want to say it's nice to see you appearing personally in the videos! Keep up the good work:)

Always a new fact to learn about the Sims! Thanks Marq! Also, I had the original Sims. There is a video of me getting the first EP, ‘Living Large’, for Christmas the year it came out! I was so thrilled!

@@CarolinaNaiade thank you for watching, I’m glad you’ve learned something new from the video :) also cool that you’re an OG Simmer haha
Probably, one can still perform on the untuned piano but can't practice because it's really bad for practicing, to play the untuned piano :)
And the elevators... Somehow I never managed to install them properly so they could function, that's why I missed that woo-hoo spot 😅
I love how there are still surprises in the sims 2 👀
Mortimer: Um, what are you doing?
Cassandra: Just tuning the piano, dad. (*fails to tune it*
Mortimer: At least you don't let your brother (Alex) do that.
Finally, a few years ago I rediscovered Sims 2 thanks to various youtube channels, acquired it for myself, and it has been my favorite ever since 😊
I've been meaning to get Sims 1 as well but never have the time 😅
@@whatever6377 thank you for sharing, kind of a similar path to mine actually! And rip cd, it had a good run :(
my 1st game was the sims 2, when i was 5 years old! ahaha

the sims 3, my pride and joy, has been my comfort game for ages!
@@Alice-fw8pn you know it! Sims 3 is so underrated
@@Christophee1987 can relate, I spent some ungodly hours on this game as a kid 😭 Good times lmao
4:29 Yeah, I liked to use elevators in some of my sims’ houses instead of stairs partially for this reason.
It's amazing that this game came over a decade ago yet it STILL has tons of secrets, hidden interactions, small details, and tons of other things that we wouldn't notice unless we pay scrutiating attention to detail!!
I absolutely adore this game, Sims 1 is good and all, but Sims 2 is superior in all the ways possible!❤🎉
(Pd: my introduction to this series was the sims 1! the vanilla version.
I was at a local Office Depot with my dad and I saw it city on the shelf and was really excited because I could get the chance to actually see all the little people in my city.
sims 2 is my favorite out of the whole series and these details are so cool!
@@Schwegg22 love that 😭😭

Toddlers, children and teens with low aspiration express "immaturity", which is their version of aspiration failure
Teens are the most interesting with it because they can attack other Sims regardless of their personality and relationships with that sim (had that with a boy with 10 nice points) and actually break urns - and all of this will be done automonously

Suppose I want the son with his spouse and children (from nina: Norbeth his wife Geya and 3 children Frankie, Timon and Milo) to leave one scenario and move to another????
ts2 so funny
