I have chosen a name 'chen xiaoqi' is it fine?? Or should I choose another one? When I looked in the list of names I thought this name to be very beautiful.
I chose 霭亮霏 - Ǎi Liàng Fēi because I was born in winter at the winter solstice and if I'm not wrong 亮霏 means bright/shiny snowfall? Does this make any sense and is it correct? And it sounds similar to my name :)

I decided to get myself a Chinese name but am having difficulties coming up with a personal name. For my family name, I decided to use 夏, as it sounds similar to "Sea", which is the first syllable of my last name in English. I have an idea of a personal name but I don't know if it's silly, odd, strange, or doesn't make sense. I wanted to use something that might describe me somehow and thought that 大湖 might be interesting. I live in Michigan in the USA which is also called "The Great Lakes State" and thought that a personal name of "Great/Big Lake" would kind of cool. But then you mentioned in the video about words that are commonly used and 大 is quite commonly used, from what I've seen. Is my idea for a personal name too silly or am I on the right track?
