Fantastic, happen to stumble across this vid. Thanks for the energy, the walk and not the least the topping with Monteliusvägen Södermalm just about where I live.
I'm about to do this hike, and I really can't tell you how much this video meant to me while preparing for it. So nice to see another wonderful nature geek with similar wavelengths
What a great video! I am planning the same trip this year and was very happy to see it's possible to camp the whole way. Awesome job taking it on alone and enjoying such a remote place.
Hi, Thank u 4 an inspirational movie adventure. U managed to capture the feeling I was looking for. And I hiked from Abisko to Nikkaluokta on My own, with my tent. Meeting interesting people, experiencing real solitude for the first time in years, the silence, the struggle. It all made me feel I was right where I belonged. On a journey. Inwards. Thank u Again. Your movie played a part in me making the decision to do it.
SO cool... you are so optimistic...i enjoyd whatcing it. hope I'm going to enjoy it next month the same way you did....i hope my partner will have half of the positive energy you had. great job!
Great video, well made! I was there about two weeks before you, going back next month following a different route. Too bad you couldn't get to the top of Kebnekaise because of the weather (neither could I, one of the reasons I'm heading back there). Nice work!
wow it was cool to watch you having lots of fun and only who made such a hike knows hot it feels to in such vast vistas :) looking forward for this years Norway hike :) cheers ^..^
Planning to do this hike this summer. The trail looks a lot like the Arctic Circle Trail in Greenland which I did last summer, strongly recommend it for those interested in this type of terrain.
never heard of that trail before but after checking out your vid it really does look similar! :D so of course you'll love the kungsleden...try and go in autumn if you can though - i think the feel really is quite different to summertime!
Hi! Incredible video, I had do much fun watching it. I would really appreciate if you could answer my question. Do you have any idea where I could buy a gas cooker? Im flying a plane from Poland to Stockholm and then to Kiruna and I obviously can not bring it with me. Aby sugestions? Thank you!!!
I use this one (269 zloty).www.xxl.se/trangia-25-6-ul-brannare-sprit/p/1009385_1_style?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI76jug_zt2QIVDi0ZCh3P7QGTEAQYCyABEgIZpPD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds&dclid=CIybprz87dkCFYaHmgoduFEMng
Love your video, your attitude and your obvious joy in the nature. Thank you for sharing your experience. My friend and I are planning the hike Kungsleden this Sept. Do you think a trekking pole is absolutely necessary? I see you had one. I am trying to travel as light as possible. I’d like your opinion. Thank you.
Very nice! It's breathtaking up there isn't it? You feel so small and insignificant when the elements are at play.... I think you were actually quite lucky with the weather but then September is the best time of year to visit. I absolutely love the colours in early Autumn... But I have to ask: What is an Aussie doing in Sweden? Did you really come all the way around the world just to hike or was it more of a detour?
couldn't agree more! the vistas are absolutely stunning and i'd never seen such colourful landscapes before!! :D i live in london so it wasn't too crazy of a journey haha
Actually i have a lot of question. lol 1.how to get there? (the starting point) 2.how many days you take? 3.do we need to pay for the campsite/hut? how much? 4.how hard the trek? 5.how about the path? easy to find it? thanks!
hi! i took the bus from Kiruna to Abisko. Walked from Abisko to Nikkaluokta (including one full day for Kebnekaise) took me 6 nights, and on the 7th day i caught the sleeper train back to stockholm in the afternoon. wildcamping is free! and so are the emergency huts :D you have to pay for STF warden huts (approx 40 pounds i think?) but I didn't stay in them so not sure. the path is very obvious and not too difficult, but I'd definitely recommend an extra day if you wanna take it easy. Kebnekaise is quite tough depending on the weather! lemme know if you have any more questions... it's an awesome trip!
Very nice video. this inspired me to considder hiking to kungsleden with my boyfriend in the future. i think you deserve more subscribers. your editing is very good : ) - kath
Hi girl! Thank you so much for the video. Could you be so nice to answer my questions? I'm planning to go there mid September and do the same trial. (it's my first trip ever and alone) 1. Which cooker did you had? 2. And also how heavy was your backpack? 3. Did you buy all your food before or did you also bought some in the shops in the huts? 4. How many clothes did you brought with you? (do you have a checklist I could use?) 5. Did you had only one pair of shoes (also slippers?) 6. Did you regret not having hiking poles? 7. Did you really need the map? THANK YOU!!
hiii hope this helps, so; 1. jetboil, 2+3. started out around 22kg with all food and water :/, could defs pack lighter food, and its possible to buy in huts just more expensive 4. you can basically see all the clothes i wore in this video haha! one set for walking one for sleeping! 5. boots and flip flops 6. i always hike with at least one pole if i'm carrying a pack 7. yes, not so much for navigating as the trail is obvious but important for planning each day and contingency plans! GOOD LUCK!
i am not her but i can answer some of your questions. 2: a hiking bagpack is usually kind of heavy but they have strips of metal in them that makes it less heavy for your back so it doesnt give you back pain. your whole body carries it. 3. i think they bought alot before of can food. if you ever see a store you will stack up. but you always have enough on you if you didnt find a store. 4. usually like 3 sets. and stuff that doesnt take alot of space. 5. hiking shoes are very good against water or weather but i personally always bring an extra pair and extra socks so i dont get a cold and i can switch if they get wet. 7. everyone needs a map.
Nice video :) I enjoyed it! Me and 3 other friends are planning to go there in september 2017. But we still have a few questions. We will arrive with the train at Abisko Turiststation and walk the Kungsleden also to Nikkaluokta as you did. - How did you get back from Nikkaluokta to Kiruna? Because we need to take our train back there to Stockholm. - Can you buy food in the STF huts? If yes, is it expensive? - Is the route easy to find? Thank you!
Hi! - There are 2 buses (line 91 i think?) daily from nikkaluokta to kiruna until around 19th september when they stop for the winter. i actually missed the early one (Around 11am...?) which you have to catch if you are getting the sleeper train back to stockholm on the same day but i was lucky enough to catch a lift with some other hikers who had booked a private coach! - Yes you can buy food and yes it's more expensive than in the city but not extortionate i don't think. I never actually bought anything so not too sure sorry! - route is v. easy to find! HAVE THE BEST TIME! :D
Hi Fredric! I'm also planning to leave around 20-22 from Nikkaluokta to Kiruna. I see on google maps there are still running (bus 92). Correct me if I'm wrong :)
hi it was a really nice video to watch :) and also so relatable because I was doing the same route in July as my first trekking experience. I was wondering if you had any suggestion for my next one :)? with the same kind of vibe to it , i really liked the scenery. Not a hard one though i'm only 18 ^^
Hi, such a great vibe to your vid!! planning on going myself next year, what time of year did you do it ? what backpack did you use i could see it was a ospray but im curious to klnow what sise and model.
thanks jeroen! sorry for the late reply, i went in september and it was beautiful and autumnal! I used an osprey ariel 65L on this hike :) i wonder if you went this year after all what with the crazy 2020 its turned out to be!
Nice. I'll be there (albeit hiking the opposite direction) early September 2017. Did you tent to avoid hut fees or for the solitude? What time of year was it?
Hey rob, I suppose for both? To me wildcamping is sort of a win-win in terms of saving money, freedom, and also a better workout (jk for that last one) :D I went in September and can't recommend it enough! The colours in autumn are amazinggg - enjoy it!
I start walking from Kvikkjokk around the 27th of August. I was in Abisko last year chatting with STF folk to get the "real scoop" on the trail and the major recommendation was to hike late in the year, after the first frost had killed the bugs. I bought (possibly unnecessary) topo maps, and walked away with more enthusiasm than I expected. I'm still bringing my bug net and repellent, though. :) I'll bring my tent just in case but will likely use the huts much of the time. I've Swedish friends who might join me in Nikkaluokta so it will definitely be huts from there. But you never know - there may well be a tent site that calls my name. :) You back in Australia? I was in WA in October - it was still kind of cold and wet, and I (and a few others) blew off the cape-to-cape hike after a couple of days. Too much rain. Monsoon rain. And cold. But I did end up driving 4500km and doing a lot of dayhikes. A great part of the country. :)
Sounds like a great time! I definitely agree with that - I didn't use insect repellent once during my trip. the only downside is the cold...especially when you see all those tempting lakes everywhere! I've never been to WA but i hear its beautiful. you know a place is awesome when you can still have an adventure amidst all the rain :D
Indeed. I had better weather in Melbourne, Newcastle and the mountains (Kosciuszko, etc.) a few years ago. That was over xmas, so the weather was great. First time in my life I got sunburned on Boxing Day, though! :) And Tasmania was awesome. If anyone ever suggests the Overland Track say yes! But in January. There was snow in December. :)

Enjoyed this but have to make two very important points: NEVER use soap directly in or rinse soap off in natural water sources, it is terrible for aquatic life, and this jncludes bio soap, and washing off in a creek directly like that is one reason to filter...would you want to drink downstream from someone washing their body clean in the water without filtering it first?
just watched your video! love it and your cheery attitude!
Awesome, I like this video very much!
Fantastic, happen to stumble across this vid. Thanks for the energy, the walk and not the least the topping with Monteliusvägen Södermalm just about where I live.
This landscape makes me calm and collected. I visited Abisko this summer. Thank you for sharing your adventure with us.
This is really amazing!!! Thanks for putting in so much work to share this part of your life with us!! I WANNA GOOOOO!
I'm about to do this hike, and I really can't tell you how much this video meant to me while preparing for it. So nice to see another wonderful nature geek with similar wavelengths
Thank you for a wonderful video. Walking Kungsleden is a dream i am going to fulfill. Love the energy.
Thank you for this video. It leads me to abisko and spectate northern lights here.. missing this isolation peace and serenity here sweden.. 🤣👍🏼
Two of my favourite songs combined in one video. And then, of course, I love hiking. Great video, thanks for sharing!
Super video krásná příroda na super trek 🏕💚💚💚🌞🌞🌞👍
What a great video! I am planning the same trip this year and was very happy to see it's possible to camp the whole way. Awesome job taking it on alone and enjoying such a remote place.

Why did you kill the innocent ant in his own home where you were the invador?
Hi, I'm planning to do the same trip but I cany decide wich backpack to buy. How many liters was yours?
i use an osprey ariel 65L pack and i love it! you can stuff enough into it for multi-days but it's also not too bulky for short hikes.
Hello from Canada. Cute beanie. :)

Thanks aram, hiking is addictive isn't it :) I haven't been, but laugavegur in iceland looks especially spectacular! Or anywhere in iceland really...
Awesome, nicely edited! Do you think you'll come back for the summit at some point?
