The Cadillac CTS is one of the best luxury sedans out there. We got the 2.0 Turbo for my wife, and she loves it. In my opinion this car has by far the best exterior look and design!
A few months ago I bought a 2019 Cadillac CTS/AWD, 2.0T, luxury model that came off a 2 year lease. Saved a bunch of money and one of the nicest cars that I ever owned. By the way, I keep a small micro fiber cloth in my arm rest for fingerprint touch ups!
Not so sure about that. I have a 2015 5 series right now and I'm thinking about replacing it with the CTS. It's a close call. Closer than it ever has been since the CTS is a really good car. However, there are some points where the CTS falls behind pretty far. 1st: Ergonomics. The iDrive-System and the whole composition of buttons at the BMW is just superb. You can operate 90% of all functions in the car without even moving your arm. Cadillacs touch-system is nice but can't keep up with iDrive at all. 2nd: Driving-experience (steering and suspension). The Cadillac is comfy as hell and somewhat sporty. It is what you can expect from a car of that size and in that class. It's damn good. The 5 series (mine has the DDC) however, is even sportier and doesn't fall back in comfort. 3rd: Headlights. The adaptive LED-headlights in my 5 series are way better than the Xenon-headlights at the CTS. Period. 4th: Passenger room. I am ~6ft tall and if I set up the drivers seat for my size, I can sit in the back of the 5 series pretty comfy. In the CTS, I sit more constricted. Not much, but noticeable. 5th: Trunk. The trunk of the BMW is way more useable than the one in the CTS. It's opening is wider, the "hatch" is bigger, the sill is lower and the overall size is bigger, too. At the end, there comes the price-tag. In Germany, a well equipped CTS 2.0 Luxury comes in at roughly 55.000€. A similar equipped 5 series is around 10-15.000€ more. That gets me thinking, if I am willing to accept the "flaws" of the Cadillac. Is the Beamer really that much better to justify the price-difference? Even for a BMW-fan like me, this is hard to tell and I think: No, it's not.
Forgot to mention the wireless phone charging and usb compartment hidden in the fold put radio screen, all you do is slide your finger L to R on the bottom most touch bar
had the pleasure of driving a few of these and the 535I the 535i feels like it has a bit more torque and power but it feels heavier, the CTS feels lighter and you have to rev out the V6 for similar power, but the interior was the interesting thing the design of the CTS interior is much more engaging but the touch capacitive center counsel takes a lot of time to get used to un like the BMW infotainment unit i think the BMW has slightly better build quality but the caddy has more raw exotic materials
In 1986, A Sedan de Ville cost around $22k, have wages really kept up with the increase in new car prices? I don't think wages have tripled since 1986 for the avg worker.
+pedrof830 At 3% inflation for 30 years that works out at about 53,000.It depends on modern extra's. Modern wages have clearly not kept up with inflation and American manufacturing has gone through negative growth.
+pedrof830 Not only that but cadillac did a huge price increase when they released the new cts. The past generation cts base model was 35k when new, but this generation base price was 45k. Freaking outrageous. And their cts v model was 65k base, now it's 85k. Cadillac doesn't carry the prestige that the german competitors have. However, cadillac learned that the hard way, their cts sales dropped more than 1/3 of their original sales volume.
+Adan Lopez You do realize the car grew substantially putting it into another segment, right? With the ATS fighting 3-Series, A4, C-Class, etc , the CTS now takes on the likes of 5-Series, A6 and E-Class. Its priced well and competes.
the greatest is cadillac loose value very very quick In 2014 premium top of line cost almost 70,000 now in 2016 we can find one used 2014 premium with less than 10,000 miles and cost less than 30,000 why buy new
Yes, interest rates for new car loan is around 19%. They say once a brand new car is driven off the dealer lot it loses 30% of it's value. Used car loans are around 9% and the car's price is not as expensive (marked up) as a brand new car.
Im portuguese, but i love Cadillac Brand. Os my favorite Brand of Cars, in Portugal have many Mercedes, Audi and BMW, im tired Tô see the Same cars every single day. I love American cars. I want one. The people looks my car and asked, what a car os this?????
@david yea its a nice car. Ive been through two of them. Now an escalade. Would i buy one again ? Yes. But im mostly into sports cars and full size suvs now
Solid sedan. Cadillac is catching up with the Germans, but I wouldn't take it seriously unless GM replaces the cheap-looking CUE system and upgrade it with intelligent AWD.
@@emeyer6963 thank you so much. I got a '16 civic but I want something more luxurious and refind I'm 40 and I think a cadillac is better for my age. I just concerned about the engine and a little about gas. Never had a V6 car but then again I got no kids so I think I can put up paying more gas for a luxurious trade.
One of my neighbors has this model but not sure what trim it was but he said it's a very fun, wonderful, amazing etc car. Has had it for 8 months & no problems & is very happy with it. Also I'm starting to see a lot of these in my city. I think they'll do fine from what I'm seeing.
+Kingmoe _0.o This car is not overpriced. This is the top of the line Premium Collection package for this model. The Mercedes, BMW and Audi are higher close to $75-$80K compared to this car. Too me, it is a excellent value when comparing it to the competition.
its a 3.6 v-6.......its the norm worldwide unless its a hybrid. i'm sure a v-6 from european manufacturer will get the same average for the engine size.
+BobEckert56 I would agree that the new CTS shoehorns bigger folks in the front seats. I owned an STS, which was the perfect size for me, and the CTS had that straight jacket feel. For bodybuilders, powerlifters, or anyone that played football, you may find the same to be true.

You need to compare apples with apples. Mercedes E-Class, BMW 5 Series, etc.
The interior looks better than most living rooms. Over time you will notice time the paint does not lose it's luster.
Rich or not, buying a 40-80k car ever 3-4 years is just not a good way of handling your money. Better to save up and spend it on property.
Many of us do both at the same time.
De
Watching this in 2023 because I was still driving a 2004 in 2016 lol...someday I'll catch up...perhaps when I finish all my training...

i just got a 2014 yesterday with only 67k miles. it's a gem! really great car. luxury, comfort and very sporty with great performance.
This is WAY nicer than BMW. I want one.
Have you test driven both?
***** An associate bought a used BMW. The costs of repairs were unreal.
I'd perfer this any day over a german car, plus this is cheaper

I think you are right about the CTS being lighter. The mix of metals they are using for their frames seems to being doing a world of good.
I'm getting one in 6 months so excited.. Hottest on the road flashiest in luxury class for a fact!!

In all fairness, those 86 Caddies drove similarly to a modern day Malibu. But with worse handling and mileage numbers
This is a solid offering from Cadillac. Their chassis/suspension setup is superb as well. It will be nice to see the CT6 review when it is available.
+ohmywrd I can't wait for the review of the CT6 also.
and good job on the review liking more of the rolling shots while continuing to review
I'm 5'11 300lbs I fit great in this car.
I'm not a huge fan of the crappy touch controls for the heating, a/c etc. Hopefully that will be changing in the future.

mistake on the engines. the TT V6 is in the ATS-V, whereas the CTS-V has the C7's V8
The CTS V-sport also uses a 420 hp version of the twin turbo 3.6 and the V uses the LT4 v8.
i am 6’3 310 pounds and i am able to fit comfortably in it
This was a "SPLENDID" review

I want this car. I have a ATS that I drive for Uber. I have the same interior, girls go crazy for it.Trunk passthrough needs to be bigger.
Love this videos. Could you do one like this with the escalade platinum?
+Evan Lovell Thanks! Lemme see what I can do. I need to make a few calls …
thank you
Great Video! Thank you, greetings from Germany
Thanks for the review!
Why does no one care about this car? I am thinking about getting it, but I can't find reviews...
google theres plenty. im getting one tomorrow
How much does one usually go for now a day? Looking online but it keeps giving me a different model.
I'm on my 3rd CTS; no problems. GM backs the Caddy up.
@@ralphlauren7903 Do you recommend the car? I'm thinking about buying a 2016 CTS in 2023.

Is Premium the highest trim level for the 2015 model year too? Not including V
Seat ventilation for if you are lactose intolerant ? ;-) I love this car

Thanks for this great review ... But I think this caddie is overpriced ... especially with that bad resale value !!
Cadillac is to ambitious with there price, There not at that level yet.

Looking at the quality, the caddy looks amazing
That push start/stop button looks so cheap. They used that button in all their cars even the cheap models.
I can afford this until I win the lotto
It's Borat
Why are you wearing a jacket from the 1980s ? it's 2015 almost 2016 !

I drive a BMW and get 19 mpg combined. Last I checked, BMW was an european car. wtf, that's even worse, at least from an american point of view.
too dark, can't see anything

Or the Machus Red Fox.
Siri is cool.
2016 Jaguar xf starts at 51k and looks twice as good. I'm a true red white and blue American all day but this caddy is plainly overpriced
Caddy have always been high, but the discounts are good. Especially if you're trading in another Caddy. (not too old)
Doesn't a addy like this go for around 30-45 thousand? That seems pretty reasonable considering the quality.
mashed potatoes When's the last time you bought a new car?
mashed potatoes maybe an ATS but most definitely not a CTS
