That includes more than 1000 junior high school on that dance (that change clothes that you see)... not more than 3 months they prepare for this opening ceremony. Also 2 years to prepare everything (including the infrastructure in jakarta also Palembang) a short time to prepare everything and we proud of it. Thanks for see... Also for Mr. President... Hi there, to answer your quetion the opening dance called Ratoe Jaroe dance. It is a traditional dance from Aceh Province in Sumatera Island. That dance performed by 1.500 girls from 20 high school in Jakarta (capital city of Indonesia). Ratoe Jaroe is one of the traditional dances taught in almost all schools in Jakarta. About the costume, the secret is on the costume it self. It designed by an accessories designer name Rinaldi Yunardi. This man is really genius. Some of its accessories have been used by hollywood celebrities, such as Madona. Thank you very much 😊

And if you only knew what they were saying on the song as they dancing... the song was about "jeumpa flowers" that only blooms on "aceh", particullar place in Indonesia where this dance came from... and are'nt they look like a blooming flower or what...

It was originally supposed to be held in Vietnam, but due to economic issues, Vietnam could not continue and so our ex Jakarta (capitol of Indonesia), Basuki Tjahaja Purnama or popularly known as Ahok, proposed for Indonesia to hold the 18 Asian Games.
