I recently had my pb chub on a crank. It was over 50cm and 4-5inch deep. I've caught them upto 4.5lb but this was the next level. I'd lost my scales so couldn't weigh it 🙈

Congrats! It's definitely a growing sport 🎣 Surface fishing for them is the most exciting but just as great on subsurface lures, specially on clear rivers where you watch them run your lure down and smash it.

Yes, it is possible, but not the best. Use what you got until you can get more suitable equipment.
