    HI! I really like the video and it definetly helped me. Last summer I started fishing for chub with lures. I have a 10g baitcaster and a very fine tuned baitacsting reel, that allows me to cast small lures far enough. The lure I used the most was Whopper Plopper 60 and I got some incredible results. Two biggest ones I caught were 48cm& 2.8kg and 53cm& 2.6kg. Try using whopper plopper 60, and believe me it will be VERY fun. Cheers🤝

    Hi Andrew, great video again! How would you work the lure when fishing in the canal for chub, slow or fast retrieve?

    • @AndrewsKnots
      @AndrewsKnots  4 года назад

      Hi,
      Depends really. You will have to try various presentations to see what works best on your venue! For some reason often seems canal Chub are easier to catch using soft lures (especially creatures). 👌

    Hello. Great video! I enjoyed watching and I love your accent. Can you please tell me what type of hooks you use? I've bought some nice crankbaits that are the same shape, length and color as yours, but mine came with triple hooks, not single hooks.. Are they even any special hooks, or are they just regular circle hooks and I'm over complicating things? And if you have an idea of about what size they are, I'd really appreciate if you told me that, too. Thanks!

    Hi.enjoyed that,I very rarely fish with lures but as I saw in ur video u got a pike on that bit u off,don't u ever use a wire trace in case that happens? My local river is full of pike & unfortunately you are guaranteed to hook one regardless!!👍

    • @AndrewsKnots
      @AndrewsKnots  4 года назад

      Thanks.
      I never use wire traces even when targeting Pike. Then I use 0.50-0.60 mm. fluorocarbon.
      In this case though, it was very unlikely of me finding that Pike in such a fast water when targeting Chub. Obviously trace is a big no-no when targeting Chub 👌
      Cheers

    • @AndrewsKnots
      @AndrewsKnots  4 года назад +5

      Exclusively cheap ones!
      I look at it very simply: cheap lure, which works ok and is correct color will catch me more fish because I won't be afraid to chuck it under branches etc. ✌
      Fish surely don't care if it is 50p of 20 quid.

    Hi Andrew. When replacing treble hooks with singles what size would you suggest for lures of a similar size to the ones you use. Also would it work on spinners. Really enjoy your videos, full of good tips and info. All the best and thanks in advance.

    • @AndrewsKnots
      @AndrewsKnots  4 года назад +1

      It depends really on how "fat" those cranks are but in general for 5+ cm. lures I go with the size 4; then 4.5 cm. and below I go with size 8. These hooks sizes, I mentioned, are only relevant to ones as per links in description!
      Cheers
