I have a feeling that if those barrels were really irradiated then they are not wearing the right level of safety gear. Their whole face, mouth nose is exposed.
It depends on the level of radiation. Contrary to popular belief, something being radioactive doesn't automatically mean you need thick layers of protection to be safe, that being said, it is true that they should have some sort of face mask so they don't accidentally inhale some of the grease, but that's more because inhaling grease would be a potential health hazard on its own.
@@homerman76 Also dont forget to mention how we are all bathed in radiation constantly, different kinds and different levels.
this was a very good storyline in the last seasons and a rare example of a truly good storyline in the last seasons. Also, I love how this storyline shows that indeed, Sheldon loves Leonard like a brother. He didn't want Leonard to do the dirty and dangerous job, and joined to help him, without any twist!
Eh, it's not likely that dangerous, there would be a lot more protection involved if they were handling dangerous levels of radiation, though the fact that they aren't wearing face masks is a potential hazard, it would be rather dirty though.
For all the book smarts they have they forfeited all life smarts.

Yeah, and it's not even about the radiation (the radiation levels likely aren't very high,) just breathing in the grease alone is liable to cause you problems. Should have had them start with masks on and then lower them to talk, would have made Leonard's reveal to have taken over the cleaning more amusing

Leonard: Fair enough. Uh, so, look, I'm here to ask you to give Sheldon and Amy the Athenaeum for their wedding.
Barry: ( laughs ) Why would I do that?
Leonard: Because deep down, Barry, you're a really good guy.
Barry: But am I?
Leonard: Fine. What's it gonna take?
Sheldon: Barry, I've come to ask one more... Leonard? Wh-Why are you doing that?
Leonard: Because deep down Barry is not a good guy.
