True, it doesn't really matter which side water comes in from, and as long as its a straight line you should be able to drop the next smelter beside this one without and hassles
optimization - put the conveyor on the inside and the channels on the outside; construction pack 2's are more expensive than 1's also it makes the channels more visible for extra shiny glowy bits moving around.
Just found out about your channel and checked a couple of builds. Gotta say, nice job! About this one in particular though, doesn't this break when you reach the second tier of blast furnace?
yws and no, the feed in belts for ore would need to be pushed back, and the washers you would need twice as many as they dont have a mk2 version. So it does come with limitations, but this is a great build for first your first copper, for your second mine it might be time to rebuild thinking about the advanced smelters
@@JDPlays Thanks, I've started a new save and I think it's not too hard to tweak with the next tier in mind, but obviously it's not as efficient. As you said, you'll need a bit more space. Looking forward to videos on later tiers. Cheers!
Trying to get them all to fit, is the number 1. Number 2 is more belts for the machines and then to storage is more power. 3rd is 80KW per machine! thats 320kw of power for just the electros thats a LOT unless you have upgraded power, if you have then tier 2 belts are right there so you could just use the 1st iron smelter design. So there are many choices over all. This was the best design given the power requirements etc and the fact that you dont need as much copper as iron till later in the game.
Thanks!
Your tutorials and explanation of how the numbers interact were very helpful.
Bedankt
I didn't know you can flip the buildings, thanks :D
Glad I could help!
Another great build. Thank you.
Thank you for those Awesome videos. I was totally lost at the beginning and now i have a nice and working Factory :3
Glad they helped!
One improvement would be to put the water tank on the loose storage side. Expansion isn't blocked and might save a bit on pipe.

Well, I bet Perfectly Efficient Advanced Oil will be quite the mess. Can't wait to see it! lol
That video is a day away, and you will just have to wait and see, we are only dealing with 7 Fluids, it cant be that hard right?
Size efficiency feels so important in this game due to power love these compacts efficient builds
It is as far as i can see, not for overall map space but for belts using power!
@@JDPlays yes, belts use power, and only when moving stuff around

But does that give you room to upgrade the electrolysers in the future when the smelter upgrades?
I can't find those screenshots you mentioned on the Discord. Where are they?
Pinned in the Captain of Industry room :)
Shift F flips buildings on the other axis instead of having to rotate twice!
I am warming to this game, tho it might just be your presentation. Well done
I'm really enjoying it. Though I might be lacking on sleep a little bit, I keep staying up till sunrise day after day!
@@JDPlays dude, you really need to watch that. Remember drink as much water as coke or coffee if you want to stay awake
thanks ill keep that in mind!
Very nice. Can you do one on power. Like the one that uses Steam
Yes soon, it should be out in the coming days I hope. Its the same design ill be using in my lets play (which might come out first)

Why not just use your iron build with 4 copper electros at the end? What's the difference?

I liken.
I'm sitting here thinking about how much work is put into PLAYING this game.
Imagine making it. Yikes.
Imagine there are only 2 devs!
My efficiency is always ruined. Because I can't stand angle belt. I have to use lifters....

I clicked the dislike button for you. Figure if you ask, it's the least I can do.
You and 6 others clicked it 😢
