Where is #rakunx right now?!?
ah, so if cereza from the crone timeline is dead, then the swordman could be her Jeane, ready for vengeance! or something, that'd explains why she's carrying Cheshire as a memento.
I thought it was either Loki or it was Luka who decided to travel through the timelines and kill of the bayonettas/Cerezas for revenge for his father.
@@Gemini053 but he knows Bayo didn’t kill his parents and Luka isn’t white blonde and how would he get powers and Chesire
@@Gemini053 But even with Cereza being weaker in those timelines, I still think it's pretty impossible for Luka to kill her
@@victordrumond4996 He probably could have sold his soul. You never know
@@scarletsage6267 He could have sold his soul and taken on a wearier version of Cereza who didn’t want to fight period
I believe the reason that Rosa recognized Cereza as Bayonetta is due to her contract with Madama Khepri, whose description in Bayonetta 2 tells us that a contract with her grants the user infinite knowledge of time. This could be what she did in prison, looking into her daughter's future and seeing the 3 main timelines. Thats why she asks Balder to protect Cereza, cause without him she would die in the 3rd timeline. She could've also given him the idea to bring young cereza to the present in Bayonetta 1, thus creating the timelines for Bayonetta 1&2 as well as Bayonetta 3.
Wow, in that case Rosa is SUPER knowledgeable!
I always thought the only reason Rosa recognized Bayo because it's her own daughter and of course a mother knows her own daughters face even if she is grown....SO I THOUGHT buy this makes much more sense and what he explains in yhis video makes a lot more sense as well
Fun fact: Rodin was the one that named gave Bayonetta her name. At one point in the movie (Bloody Fate) Enzo mentions how Rodin gave her, her name. And she kept it.
Ah yes I totally forgot about that!
another timeline of me hating grace and glory
AMEN.
AMEN.
AMEN.
May Jubileus the creator grace you.
You and me both
I LOVE that approach, especially the symbolism with the moons at the end!
Me too!!! It's pretty much confirmed tbh but I can't wait to see how they play it out in the story!
I like that you adressed jeanne as a princess because she was one
Yeah a lot of people forget haha
That point about Loki not seeing Bayonetta as a Cereza blew my mind! Great job :)
Haha thank youu! 😁 glad you liked the vid! You should stick around for more ;)
The amount of theories on bayo 3 I have seen just makes me so hype for the game😀 Great video!!
Thank you!!! I can't wait to see how they play the timelines out in the third game!
I like your analysis and theories on Bayonetta's story. The implications could be huge for the third game. Maybe Platinum Games is going to make us play different versions of Bayonetta throughout the game, starting with one of them who will meet her demise. Since each Bayonetta is unique in strength and powers, we could have slightly different gameplay, demons summoning but also allies and enemies. We could even be playing Jeanne in a timeline where Bayonetta is dead. This multiverse thing just has no limit in the stories that can be told.
Yeah. This multiverse architecture opens the Bayonetta-verse up to some hype ideas.
I can see how it would be leaps and bounds beyond Bayonetta 1 and 2 now.
When you said there were three times time lines I was like “Ok, that’s cool!” then when you explain there could be more than just three my brain overloaded
🤣
The way that they dance matches the “Maiden, Mother, and Crone” themes in their respected games.
Bayonetta 1 and 2 is one big time loop.
Bayonetta 3 is on little Cereza's dimension.
But the biggest mystery of all (since Loki and Aesir) is Viola.
I explained her a lot in my recent massive analysis video
Such a great theory. I'm 98% sure this is accurate. Keep up the good work!!
Thanks I will! And yeah I'm pretty sure too!
So far we have 4 timelines. Our main one, Cereza's, the one where Bayo and Balder went to in bayo2, and the records of time universe.
I have a slight correction. Around 3 minutes in you said that Aesir was the evil that possessed Baldur's body. This not correct. Loptr* was that evil. Loptr was the embodiment of Aesir's evil just as Loki was Aesir's good. Aesir himself is only indirectly responsible. Loptr briefly does become a full manifestation of Aesir but is stripped of this when the eyes of the world are destroyed and he is returned to himself as Loptr.
holy shit! now it makes sense why she was in her bayo 1 outfit in the teaser trailer
Dmc timeline:I understand
Bayonetta timeline: headache mass confusion
I love these theories so much!! Can't wait for the next one. As far as I'm concerned, this is exactly what to expect in B3.
Aye thanks! I can't wait to make the rest of the ones I have planned!
What are your thoughts now?
watching this made so much sense out of bayo 3's story
(also saw your ending analysis which helped a ton too) and bayo 3's 1st trailer, i was surprised how correct the main jist of the video is
A-MA-ZING!!!!! You absolutely blew my mind with this video! Loved it so freaking much! Keep up the incredible work!!! Truely a masterpiece!
Thank you!!! I hope it was enough to get you to sub and share it around 🥰
ahhhh I love all the Ace Attorney music you put in. Each of them fits so well. And I also love the track from AI: The Somnium Files :)
You are a PERSON OF CULTURE. Also, thank you 🥰
I know this video is a year old and maybe it's been said in other videos, but I'm sure that the "Lost Timeline" that is established in this video is the timeline Viola is from or as you correctly described as the "timeline from the Bayonetta that died in the teaser". Since Balder does not exist in that timeline, Bayonetta got awakened by Luka's father and aditionally, he never got killed by angels sent by Balder (because he's not here). There is probably a lot of backstory between Luka's father and Bayonetta as well as Luka, which eventually led to them getting together and having a child. Because of that, Luka probably managed to become the faery king because his father probably told him about his faery heritage that he probably has from his mother and Luka became the faery king. This is also why that Luka is apparently the only one that became king, because in every other timeline Luka's father died.
THIS IS SO EXCITING OMG😭😭💞
😁
Impeccable observations jonny, like usual alot of ur points do get people thinking about the lore in a different way
Aye awesome! Thanks Jin glad it got you thinking!
This video was truly incredible, thank you for all you do!!!
Thank you!!! I'll keep making videos for sure!
I like this a lot, though I have some questions that I guess help develop another theory:
What if there are only two timelines?
The Great War of 500 Years Past that we see in Bayo 2 may be a third timeline, but what if that is simply us seeing the timeline that Balder was plucked by Loptr from? What if we just see the events leading up to the ROT vision that Loptr's projection shows Bayonetta in their first faceoff? We already know that Bayo's actions change Pure Cereza's Witch Hunt experience, and the dialogue we see from Cereza in Bayo 2 upon discovering Rosa's body is distinctly different from what we see in Bayo 1 before her sealing. What if that was Pure Cereza before fighting out the hunts with Jeanne?
Another query is how Cereza awakens the EOTW when Balder returns to his timeline, corrupted by Aesir but no longer a Right Eye. We see Balder in B1 demonstrate some feats that, upon a more educated look, are indicative of Aesir's soul and powers residing within him as well. What if Cereza awakens the Left Eye and dispatches Balder, hence her evolution into the more powerful Cereza we see in B3, or what if the nothingness effect on the EOTW in B2 travels timelines in the way the Left Eye's awakening does in B1 and essentially nullifies the Pure Cereza Left Eye? Being alive for 500 years would still be more than enough time for her to become the insanely powerful woman we see in the B3 Gameplay Trailer.
What if we're not yet done with Rosa? I feel like there's a lot of things that she and Balder obviously did that gave way to the events that we know, but her role in comparison is so much less throughout both games, especially when considering she is incredibly powerful. Her pact is also said to be with Madame Khepri, so she has intimate knowledge of time-oriented subject matter, so perhaps she may make a return and we may find out even more?
What if Loki's return is antagonistic? What if he's the swordsman we see? He had white hair before, and the glyphs that surround the new creatures are similar in design to the glyphs that surround the menu items that appear to us as cards that Loki picks up in B2. There has to be a link there.
I love this video, and in true theoretical fashion, this theory itself yields way to even more theoretical discourse. I can't wait to see what answers we get when B3 comes out!
Also, to reference the moons, B2's design features the Crone moon as the backside of Bayo's Umbran Watch necklace
Nice video!
I would also mention the Remembrance of Time flashback Loptr shows to Bayonetta at the real Gates of Hell. In that timeline, Balder is brought into the main timeline at the beginning of Bayonetta 2. Would that mean that was just another alternate timeline where the only difference is that Balder has disappeared right after Rosa died, OR that actually was the "original/unaltered" timeline (without any kind of time travel; the one the Overseer meant to protect with the Eyes) branching the main timeline and the time loop Loptr is trapped inside.
I actually did mention that one! As for where that falls on the timelines that should still be the same one Balder goes back to at the end of Bayo 2 as it's his original timeline, and is also the main timeline. That or, that ends up being the Crone timeline and Balder goes back to the timeline Rosa fought with Bayo in
@@johtojonny I know you did. I just wanted to say that maybe Balder simply disappearing from that point on the timeline might have been enough for a new timeline to be created and maybe that was the first the first time the original timeline was altered, because without this he wouldn't have become evil and pulled young Cereza from the past.
When someone time travels, even the person's disappearance can lead to a new timeline because that person should not have left his/her own present.
And then there is Loki who escaped into the future from Loptr, as he stated when Bayonetta met him during B2 in the past.
@@Creelien ah yes very true! Either way it definitely fits with the infinite timelines thing!
Wow great video your moon theory timelines is amazing
Thank you! 🥰 so glad you enjoyed!
Omg you completely changed my perspective of what happened! Thanks!! So much makes more sense now
Glad I could help!!!
If I get to play Bayo with all her 3 designs being canon ingame, it will be the best game ever, Bayo 2 forever
Hoping for this!
even though I already knew there would be some time travel shenanigans, this is much deeper than I originally thought.
Yeah it's wild
damn cliffhanger , great work.
Thank you! 🥰 hope you stick around for more vids on it!
I would LOVE to see this remade now that Bayo3 is out! I especially want t hear your take on why Pure Cereza might have been called "Arch-Eve Origins" as opposed to her Main timeline counterpart, and where the break was for a Bayo 2 style alternate that apparently lived 'an almost exactly the same life' as Pure Cereza came from.
Also, what do you think that Pure Cereza did in her timeline, if she didn't have her 500 year sleep, or the events of Bayo 1 or 2 to do? how does she still know Enzo and Luka and Rodin? I'd love to know your thoughts!
fun watch now that the game is out, 11:55 the 3 moons... give what we've seen Mother would be B3, B1 would be the Maiden and the Crone B2.
I'm actually wondering if B3 is actually the crone and B2 the maiden since B3 dies for them. B1 is definitely the mother tho
Great analysis Jonny! Will definitely be rewatching right before 3 drops because timelines are confusing lol. It was years between my playthroughs of 1 and 2 and I had to constantly look up events that happened because I couldn’t remember
LMAO glad I could help! I've replayed these games so many times it's hard not to have figured out the time travel stuff by now xD
Seems pretty relevant even after this new trailer. Hopefully we see Goddess Hecate as the final boss - we killed the angel and human dieties already need the underworld one now.....or maybe we fight the 'Devil' and 1 of the Bayonetta's (prob with both eyes) BECOMES This Witch Godesss herself!!
I think Bayonetta herself might be Hecate
Wow!!
I really love how much of these things were so accurate
Didnt knew it was an Analysis from before the game was released till I saw the date
I'm sure people have already noticed this but i should point out that in the bayo 3 trailer she's specifically wearing the maiden portion of the symbol on her chest
Analysis is great, but I want you to thank for using Ost from Ace Attorney
I looove those games and the music so I HAD to 🤣
And the shadow remains cast!
Its gonna be awhile when we see the Major console game renders from platinum games. But for a switch installment, it’s looks amazing!
Cool, I never knew the story of bayonetta went this far
Wait, Luka's surname and his father's is Redgrave? The same city name where DMC 5 is set in? Is this because Bayonetta and DMC have the same creator?
Yep precisely! They're also hinted to take place in the same world
@@johtojonny Really? What other hints are there?
@@gregorysaugustine5236 if I remember correctly... Enzo is a character originally from dmc comics, and Madama Butterfly is supposedly Dante's mother reborn in hell or something??? Or she's the spirit in one of the weapons or accessories we can wield... I actually forgot which of those 😅 or maybe she was the previous owner of one of the accessories. I'd have to find it again but it's hidden somewhere in the in-game books 🤣
@@johtojonny yes she's in hinted to being a famous witch with a contract with the legendary dark knight in the bangles of time accessory
Great video and analysis! You've earnt another subscriber! Looking forward to your thoughts on who you think the end character in the Bay3 trailer is.
Hey thank you! Excited to share my thoughts on it with you!
The biggest hole in their retcon is Jubileus and the only way I know to rectify that is Jubileus was summoned in both games. Bayonetta2 begins with Balders death near her remains and Im aware the statue wasnt her true form but a vessel.
The only way it’d work retroactively is if Jubileus is still alive and was merely summoned twice by Balder.
Which would then indicate that she’s also still very much alive and sleeping in Paradiso. At least her true form is.
Great video I can’t wait for Bayonetta 3 👍
Actually Balder told her to promise him she would stop him if he wandered off the path. And she did keep that promise but because Aesir traveled through time Bayonetta from part one fulfilled the promise
Hey Jonny! This is a great video! I know a lot about the story about Bayonetta, this is awesome to make this video with all the stories with the three differents Bayonetta character! This new Bayonetta 3 game play gameplay/trailer gives us a lot about the story! :)
I can't wait to have some others news about Bayonetta 3! :) Like I say to Rakunx on my new comment to his new recentest video, we stay in touch! :D
Hey this made my day! :D glad to have you here and to keep in touch!
@@johtojonny Hey Jonny! :) My pleasure! :D Yes, sure, we definately keep in touch! :D I'm a huge fan of Bayonetta character/games! :D
this is a awesome analysis video!
Thank you!!! (:
Wow, after playing through both and of course having a blast, I didn't realize it was so deep. I just thought it was nonsensical fun. 🤦🏻😂
I think for the main timeline's story it was supposed to be 🤣 but the multiverse makes it to where there's a deep story. Also the books if you read those in game, there's SUPER deep lore behind EVERYTHING even minor enemies
Wait but I wanna know who you think the mystery man is tho. Lmfao don’t leave me hangin!
😏
One may believe in the Dichotomy of Light and Dark, as if these two forces are in a battle that one may persist and win over the other...they both fall away having no context to lend them purchase...or like Ceressa herself....the Polarity if Light and Dark in a dance of balance, can arise to Synthesis..a matched state where the two do not lose themselves but remain and create something more than the two could muster alone...
It's what I'm hoping to see manifest in 3
Mother also dwells upon the Thresholds. She is the Mistress of Keys and an opener of All Ways...
Makes sense as well
@@johtojonny I thought you'd appreciate the nuances...
@@LucianCorrvinus I most surely do 🤓 thank you!
@@johtojonny you are most welcome. Keep up the good content. I'm not a gamer but I love lore of so kinds and I deeply appreciate your take on the TrupleGoddess symbology. It showed a great respect...
@@LucianCorrvinus so very kind of you to compliment! I shall keep it up! Thank you so much!
You know what... You're probably very accurate in here. The fact that bayo 3 has little cereza hairstyle.... I just realized it 😬😬😬
I don't care for Bayo 3 new dress but damn this story got soo good since the last time I've played it. It's mind blowing it feels like they took inspiration from final Fantasy 13 series especially part 2 and 3 of the series. Wow!
Now I get the multiple timelines theory! Tysm for the explanation!
It’s giving me bioshock infinite ♾ vibes still just as confusing and makes my head spin 😵💫
I know this was made nine months ago, but if Bayonetta killed Jubileus (Paradiso) and then Aesir (Chaos), does that mean Queen Sheba is the next target?
Probably not since they work together
@@johtojonny Ohhhhh
Love the phoenix wright ost background music :)
What if : the game lets you take control of one of 3 bayonetta timelines and you switch between them
Pure cereza is the strongest
OG bayonetta is 2nd and is the vanilla playstyle
And lost cereza is the weakest and plays like a glass cannon but more glass then cannon
I thought Bayonetta meet her younger self. Didn't realize that was her mother. I also didn't know Jeanne is a princess.
It was her younger self, however the younger self confused her older self with her mother because they look and talk so similar
Bayonetta 2 her look does show a mother look with the short hair
You forgot the bayonetta bloody fate timeline!
DAMN
My head hurts
My small theory is that the timeline is now broken 😂. For instance, ceraza is now the new bayonetta we will see and now take over. Bayonetta’s father (forgot his name) is at the end of the trailer with a new costume and new hair and he is watching ceraza. Now the first bayonetta is dead because of the teaser we got in 2017 (correct me on that date if im wrong). She died by this force that looks like the villain in bayonetta 2. The force that dominated her fathers body. That same force may be back and may be more improved. So basically what I’m getting is that the first bayonetta is dead including her timeline. I do not know what happened to the mother bayonetta from the 2nd game but the pure bayonetta (young bayonetta aka ceraza) has grew older and now is taking over her timeline and we are getting to experience that in this new and improved game. Honestly last thing I noticed is that ceraza in the third bayonetta looks to be more stronger and powerful yet has that cute young girly side to her because of how her makeup is and how her hair is. Thank you for your time😂😂😂 Also this is just a theory i could be wrong
The name of Cereza's father is Balder.
I can't help but think that you overthink this a tad.
to me Maiden seems like Viola, describes her perfectly (ik this vid is before we knew of her). It wouldn't surprise me if instead of Bayo 4 etc we get Viola the game.Although Crone makes a ton of sense ahah idk where Viola fits in actually........
big brain thank you
This all true it was confirmed in the new game
My analysis skilllzzz. Have you seen my newest video on the ending?
wait hold up rosa would recognize bayo cuz in the part were she team up with future bayonetta
the bayonetta in her timeline already look like her older self from the first game
Maybe the guy is Loki but prepared to help or the rebirth/even younger version of Balder.
No, I just feel like Rosa is able to recognise her own child, unlike balder.
I wish they would have continued the original bayonetta/cereza story but its ok to start something new but to me bayonetta 1-2 seem like a time loop cuz balder talked about time and stuff and time traveled and at the end of bayonetta 2 balder takes off his mask and becomes evil so idk
oh nvm you said that in the video- i comented that before i started the vid
Ya know I rlly want him yo talk about the swords man in the end, it could be either a evil bayonetta 2 person since bayo in the second game had short hair like in the trailer. But it could also be jeanne in a evil way again. I think it could be jeanne because of cutie J, cutie J is jeanne as a hero of somesort and uses a sword. I could think this is another evil jeanne that will be in the game or just some other new character
Who’s watching this after playing bayonetta 3
IDK if someone already know this but I think bayonetta guns is involves with this since everyone know about bayonetta main weapon, GUNS, it's involved because of the part1 of bayonetta, her gun holes were two meaning shes the second part, the part two is the main cereza cause her gun hole is only one and the third trailer is the pure cereza because her gun holes are three
EDIT: I already comment this on the other video too
Wow! This video makes me want the game so bad!!!
Don't we all 😭
If there are that many realities then there is probably one where she has unlocked only her lumen powers and is a male but that one is probably far from the ones in the video
Yup agreed
Very interesting video btw what is the music in the background ?
Almost all of this was Phoenix Wright music
Thanks
So I wonder where this stands now that we know the swordsman person is just another playable character and a witch in training.
like in bayonetta 2 she was grown up and in bayonetta 3 she look liked a teenager i was like "what? that doesnt make any sense why did she became younger?" LMAOO
Tremendo, le música de AI the somnium files de fondo
🥰🥰🥰 AI the Somnium Files is 😍😍😍
This aged kinda ok
I think you are making it more complicated than it actually will be, but love the effort tho!
I think the rosa thing has todo whit madama khepri it gives her the ability to see through time
summary of the video: bayonetta has (in fact) multiple timelines ok thats all
The new trailer for 3, does show alternate timelines. And Bayonetta meets an alternate version of her with a more Chinese motif.
Yessir it sure did!
At the end of the day, they just make infinite Luka there to bother Bayonetta's ear xDD
Wait wait wait ..did you catch the Butterfly shadow in the "Lost Ceressa"ending?
Yes but she always has that shadow (:
Pretty sure Rosa hadn't met some other Bayonetta before the time travel in Bayonetta 2. She just recognizes her own daughter, as Bayo became an adult before The Witch Hunts, and hasn't aged since then.
The line delivery kind of speaks itself with an unfamiliarity, as though she views the receiving listener as foreign in some way.
@@johtojonny Her reacting the way she did at all compared to how she'd likely not be bothered in the slightest by a regular witch makes me believe she knows it's her daughter.
@@Lalapopsy there was still definitely a disconnect between the characters in the line delivery. Beyond that, if it was recognized to be her own daughter from her own timeline, I can't imagine her saying "you?" As opposed to "Cereza?"
And beyond THAT too, it would explain why she knows how powerful her daughter will become if she had met another version of her from the future. As we know so far Bayonetta still hasn't awakened to both eyes of the world, but it seems she will in Bayo 3 hence her earrings and other design factors.
@@johtojonny I can imagine that perfectly well. She was clearly shocked, and she was interrupted mid-sentence, so I don't find it unbelievable that she would continue with her name or something of the sort.
When it comes to her knowing Bayo's future power, I think it just comes down to her knowing that Bayo is 50/50 witch and sage by blood, and that there's likely some unexplained lore there.
@@Lalapopsy we'll see I guess. I still find her line and delivery very sus
The symbol is incomplete. You need one more on the top for the warrior. Then the gate is complete and can be opened. What's on the other side.. Not for your ears or eyes, yet. First we got to get through the crone verse.
We begun with the mother, went through the maiden, now its the crone's turn. After all, until you've met death you are no warrior . Here's hoping !
I appreciate hearing your thoughts on bayo lore, but I wish you’d make it more clear that this is speculation. A lot of stuff in here you present as fact when it’s just your take on it
The confidence of "this is the timeline we're seeing in Bayonetta 3" didn't age well
I think it is better to ask Hideki Kamiya for confirmation in a con.
i have never been this confused. I like the fact that my idea of Pure cereza being the most powerful in bayo 3 (lazer gun, "super" demon summons) due to her never losing hope and (ig) keeping the left eye, was true. But it confuses me that bayo 1 and 2 share the same timeline, but both of them (SPOILER) showing up in the end of bayo 3, hense they are from the same timeline (seeing that bayo 1 only has 1 ribbon) shouldnt they be one and the same? I mean...being from the same Universe? Since the bayonetta that getskilled in the begining is the one you mentioned
to be the most broken one, since she had no one to guide her
That well be Bayonetta 4 fix time line safe her mother's
Lost cereza would have had jean to guide and train her
I feel. Bad for the crone bayonettas
I think the halves theory is more likely
