      A girl That lives her life No, you can clearly see that her own skin color is nearly as white as the foundation. You are right at one point, she may have a foundation that's maybe one or 2 shades lighter but I can't see that much of a difference of her with and without makeup.
      And if this woman is attractive or not is your opinion, but I don't think it's nice to say that something is 'weird' just because you don't like the way it looks ?

    +LiLo For some reason, youtube won't let me reply to your comments, I think because you've got certain settings on your profile.
    MAC is a weird brand, and have their foundations back-to-front. Generally, warm foundations are yellow based, and cool foundations are pink based, but MAC 'NC' is yellow and vice versa.
    Olive skin tones are actually green based, which is why those with olive tones can generally wear either one.
    I hope that answers your question! xx

    Finally someone who's legit as pale as me makes a foundation video! Illamasqua makes some very pale foundations if anyone's interested in alternatives. The skin base in 02 and rich liquid in 115 give me a bit of colour but are the best matches I've found without having to mix with white foundation - unfortunately neither work well for my skin otherwise :( They also sell pure white foundation in both foundations. N07 makes a good pressed powder in the colour translucent and Mac does a good pure white powder called Shivering White.

    You won't believe how stoked I was when I discovered that my local MAC-counter actually had the Studio Fix Fluid in NW10... Scared the bejeesus out of the poor girl working there too, she was about to say something like "that's too pale" when I swiped a bit on my jawline and blended it out for her to inspect. Her reaction was quite priceless. (She herself was probably a NC35 or something similar, and looked genuinely horrified at the notion of someone being paler than NW20.)
    More than likely, I will have to pale it out with my Manic Panic Dreamtone in Virgin like you do, though - because my face is slightly darker than my neck / chest. Also, it's supposedly also a foundation that inhibits oxidation of other foundations(!?) so it works more like a color corrector when you mix it in with - say - the Studio Fix Fluid.
    ...honestly, though, I can get away with wearing the Manic Panic Dreamtone foundation with the Manic Panic powder on its own...

    • @reereephillipsbeauty
      @reereephillipsbeauty  9 лет назад +4

      MAC Studio Fix fluid does oxidate, which I accommodate for by adding more Dreamtone :) I have no clue why MAC artists try and make people darker than they are. I was told I was an NC15 (which I clearly am not) and when I said I am lighter, they replied with 'Well, I am a makeup artist.'. My reply was 'Well, so am I, and I am confident that I am NOT NC15', and proceeded with buying NW10 and the Full Coverage foundation in W10 (Pro product).

    • @DystopiaKaotika
      @DystopiaKaotika 9 лет назад +1

      ReeRee Phillips Yeah, no - the girls at my local MAC-counter don't pull that "welll, I'm a makeup artist..."-schtick with me, thankfully. It might be due to the fact that I'm pretty much the only customer there who knows what they're looking for and knows how to ask for it. (But I'm no makeup artist, heheh)

    • @reereephillipsbeauty
      @reereephillipsbeauty  9 лет назад

      Dystopia Kaotika Its always best to know what you want before going to a MAC counter! They are pretty good at up-selling.

    • @AkiAlchemicae
      @AkiAlchemicae 9 лет назад +1

      ReeRee Phillips I'm still angry about the first time I visited a mac pro store (I just started to use foundation at that time) and was talked into buying an nc15 foundation for 32 € which I can't use since it's waaay to dark. How do these people even get their licence?>_

    • @DystopiaKaotika
      @DystopiaKaotika 9 лет назад +1

      ***** Could the Manic Panic white foundation be utilized to color correct the NC15 foundation? In which case you would at least be able to wear it...
      How (some) of the makeup-counter/store people get hired is beyond me. I'm fortunate in that sense, though; I look so mind-blowingly different to them (pale, no fake-tan, etc), so they can't really "correct" me if I tell them that NW15 is roughly three shades too dark on my face (especially when I demonstrate the way they would). ;)

    I'm so happy I stumbled across your channel on a youtube deep dive into the goth world. Thank you so much for this video, I've been struggling to find products for such a pale little vampire as me for as long as I've been wearing makeup! You're the best, thank youuuuu

    Wow. Thank you so much for this. I am not exaggerating - this is the single most useful youtube video I have ever found. I'm ghostly white but I love experimenting with makeup. Every foundation I've ever used has been too dark. I'm so pale that I've tried to use light foundation as a contour before, and it was too dark and orange. What people don't seem to understand is that I actually like being this pale though, and want to use makeup to bring that out. I'm Australian too and I enjoy that I don't look like anyone else. Thank you, I'm definitely going to invest in some of those manic panic products!

    I mix in star gazer/manic panic pure white too!! I am glad I'm not the only one! 😉
    I'm pale too, but not quite as lovely clear pale as you are. I think it's awesome you're not just darkening your colour to fit with trends. I think you're stunning! The eyes and entrancing too 👁😍👍🏻🙏🏻
    Plus FINALLY- a vid where you clip your hair back first! Oh my giddly it's so weirdly annoying when ladies don't pin their hair out of the way first. Yay!
    Very Amy Lee- intended as a big compliment of course 🤗

    I've been struggling with finding a foundation that is pale enough for me for YEARS... I seriously was giving up, but you have no idea how much this helped me! Never would have thought to make my own shade! Thanks so much! You have such a natural beauty about you. Subbed

    Finally someone as fair as me with black hair. I am 45 and have been on a lifelong quest to find the perfect foundation. I’m still looking. I have super dry skin. Elizabeth Arden used to make a foundation that was perfect but they discontinued it. I also use the same shade in Mac. But it oxidizes on me. Maybe one day I’ll find the perfect method. Thanks for sharing.

    Even though I have a warmer skin tone, I loved the way you talked about the products in the video. I wish I felt that passionately about my makeup for my skin needs! I’ve tried so many products & spent so much money and while I do prefer some products to others I don’t have any really stables.

    Oh goodness. Finally! I've been looking for a tutorial with product recommendations for people with truly cool undertones who aren't willing to accept yellowy looking foundation and ignore how weird and fake it looks. I hate my face looking reddish or yellowish when my neck is so blue-white. I must try the manic panic white foundation mix-in. I've been going barefaced until now and just doing my best to keep my skin immaculate. Even with all that effort in skincare, I'd like to be able to put on a full face for special events and photos since perfect skin tone is desirable. You made that possible! Thanks so much.

    Paula's Choice skin recovery toner doesn't burn at all. Honestly, even when I outgrew other products from PC's range due to price or trying other products I'll always go back to that toner. It isn't as cheap as witch hazel I imagine, and might not work for the same purpose (i wouldn't know, I have never used WH) but it's an amazing non-burning, nourishing toner. I don't use it to remove soap residue or anything, I put some drops in my hands and smooth it over my face. It almost immediately restored some severely dry, cracking areas on my face and I go back to it whenever I get a little too hard on my face with anti-acne medications and get dry/over scrubbed spots. Instant healing almost. Almost eliminates the need for moisturizer in my case, but I like my moisturizer so I use it anyway- plus spf. But if someone out there is looking for a non-burning toner to try and they don't like witch hazel, I'd suggest ordering a sample or a couple samples from PC. They're around 80 cents US. You can order samples of just about anything and the price varies, but it's usually a good little dose. I got some samples of a brightening treatment or other serum, mixed it into a travel size jar of moisturizer, and I think it stretches a good bit that way and also pumps up whatever moisturizer you're using or salvages a lackluster one you're stuck with. Not everything is worth it, though, and I'd advise against the sample sizes of the things like the hyaluronic booster- which I enjoyed, but the sample size for the price is a joke. I also hated their tinted spf but I was too fair for it, and honestly it looked like orange-blackface on me and pilled off for whatever reason. The bha liquid exfoliant is really popular, but I can't say I see any improvement after having gone through an entire bottle just about. Honestly it just makes me look like I have more of a sheen on my skin, but it doesn't do what i was hoping it would or what others say it does for them. I'd recommend the samples before you commit, or checking their return policy.

    My absolute holy grail pale skin foundation is Missha Perfect Cover BB cream in Milky Beige. Most foundations for pale skin aren't even close lol. I've found a lot of Korean companies cater to super fair doll skin because that's what they're into over there.
    Just a tip for anyone who hated the texture of Manic Panic whitener. I've heard Illamasqua also has a wonderful foundation in a very fair shade.

      @reereephillipsbeauty  9 лет назад +1

      Elle Caszatt They do! I have white foundations from Illamasqua, Manic Panic, Stragazer, Face Atelier and MAC (The Mac one is rubbish).
      I am trying to source some of those Korean branded BB and CC creams, because I've heard they're very pale, with high SPF ratings.

      I feel like this was a failed attempt at a humorous comment. But hey, I actually didn’t know anyone considered the term Eskimo a slur. I’m a ripe old 27 years old and never knew that was considered a slur. But we have a weird relationship with what to call indigenous peoples here. Some natives want to be called American Indians, others will get super mad if you say anything but native or their specific tribe affiliation. So I’m not really surprised people don’t like the Eskimo title or that I was unaware that it offended people. If it helps, just know I don’t think it has a history of dehumanization or insult as prevalent as some things and may be said only out of genuine lack of information. But I was also surprised Trump got to be president, so maybe I’m too naive.

    • @sophiaonca
      @sophiaonca 5 лет назад

      Well because they don't call themselves "Eskimo", but "Inuit". "Eskimo" means "fish eater" and well... yeah.

    • @jazwhoaskedforthis
      @jazwhoaskedforthis 5 лет назад

      Sophia Onca Thanks for letting me know that they may find it unfriendly. I can’t imagine calling someone a fish eater to insult them though, that’d be so... like, random and dumb. I thought it was a word from their native language because I didn’t recognize a root in it.

    I'm so glad I found this. I actually bought the NW10 studio fix fluid yesterday after they tried it on me in the store. I noticed once it oxidized it was just a little bit too dark for me so I was hoping to lighten it with the Manic Panic foundation. I'm so happy that I found someone else who is doing the same as now I know the products work together well :)

    I have extremely pale skin, almost translucent. But my face is very red and I have a ton of freckles :/ do you recommend the same method as you? I can never seem to find the right shade. It's either too pink or yellow for my face

    • @reereephillipsbeauty
      @reereephillipsbeauty  8 лет назад +6

      +Keely Wonder Yep. Adding white mixer to a foundation allows you to achieve a more exact colour. With redness, maybe try a green primer? The good ones can really help to neutralise redness. And as for your freckles, flaunt them :) Freckles are beautiful! xx
