Tales from the Dales | Spencer's Plus Four

- For Plus Four owner Spencer Bentley, the weather forecast doesn’t feature in his decision on whether to go for a drive. And whilst the micro-climate of his Yorkshire Dales surroundings may throw up more than its fair share of inclement weather, embracing the elements - however wet or windy they may be - is, to him, all part of the story of Morgan ownership.
Spencer documents his journey on a dedicated Instagram page (@dales_plus_four), a digital love letter to his Plus Four and his Yorkshire surroundings, as well as an outlet for his photography passion. We met up with Spencer on a (yes, you guessed it) wet and windy March day to join him for a drive and - in-between putting the roof up, down, and up again - hear his story.

Great story, film, landscape and car……. Exactly what I feel when I drive my Morgan Roadster……. The Morgan is the perfect car to feel and enjoy driving in a car that is built by hand and heritage……..highly recommended🇬🇧🏁

Interesting car. Mine’s a 64 plate yet this is a the new bmw engined car but has the older classic steering wheel. Great story.

It is the same as using a tube amp or records etc... it gives you something that feels more connected to the tech, it makes it more human like. At the same time it presents you much more to the nature, especially with a Morgan. Fresh air becomes a complete new experience.

Now I need a Morgan
No-one really needs a Morgan, but many want one. I did and bought one. This video makes me want to drive it right now - on a damp cold evening.
Long time ago the Morgan fourwheelers are my favorite "fun cars", but why is that I've rarely seen any to tone painted ones? I love the official site's configurator (yet it is a terribly resource demanding site, and I have an older computer what I just love and don't wanna replace), I made many great paintschemes from "mature elegant" to "young and cheerful" themes. I hope sometime I will see some great two tone ones too.

I feel the same driving my 2cv
I've wanted a Morgan from the first time I ever saw one around age 12.
It almost sounds arrogant what he says about bringing beauty to the world, but, it's true. It's getting hard to discern one car make from another at a distance these days. They are becoming like the dreck being produced by Hollywood: some formula or algorithm determining what collection of minor facets make up a success. No soul. No personalization. No beauty. I want to see more Morgans, Astons, Jaguars (older ones) etc.
I live on the West Coast of BC (now on the island) so I can identify with his upbringing.

@@spencil87 that’s interesting since taller co pilots have difficulties getting their long legs inside the vehicle. Myself, I’m 1´70 and it feels more than perfect.
