We decided to try and locate a lost mine using Google Earth but were sidetracked when we found an old Tertiary channel in the middle of the Desert..... We have to sample it and see if it contains any Gold and that what you should do too .....mark it down on a map so you can check for other occurrences and create a working model of the old channel . After you find the Paystreaks or richest concentrations go back and mine the deposit with the appropriate equipment. If you want to see more videos on finding the River of Gold just watch this video ruclips.net/video/AQVKJuey0fg/видео.html
Jeff Question ? Did you clean out You Grinder so if their was AU in the grinder it won't contaminant Your test Pan . I know ,I had to ask .
Jeff, you have just got to come to my mine property!! You have my email, and phone number ....
@@LUCKYB. we wash it out every time with a hose .....good question
thanks really appreciate that @@azgoldguy
Your talk of the volcanic depositions in California reminds me of some of the observations TVR Exploring made when he went through the 16 to 1 mine.
A wise man once told me "A treasure hunter with a camera has perfect memory", meaning don't just take notes, use your smartphone to get the GPS position of the sample area, take pictures of the sample are and any landmarks nearby so you can relocate the area, etc.
Learn from the wise and become wise yourself, that is why I watch Jeff Williams and Lila, I get a Tedtalk in goldmining with humor thrown in.
exactly ...thanks really appreciate that
Those two are the BEST!! 😊
I appreciate you taking the time to tell us not only where , but also why to look in certain geological settings.
This is what a really like to see .. Your geology lessons in looking for Gold ... Keep up the good work Jeff !
thanks
Jeff…
I do not have the words to accurately describe the heartfelt thanks
that I feel I owe you for all of the unselfish knowledge you have taught
me over the years, (I miss Slim)…
I can only hope to someday learn as much as you have forgotten…!
To know all that you do about Geology and Prospecting would be a dream
come true…!
I love your style of humor and the way you always seem to break down advanced
college grade knowledge into terminology that most of us can understand…!
I will be following you and learning for many years to come, if the good Lord is willing,
I turn 61 the end of this month…
Bless you and your lovely wife.
Have a great day and my your bottom always be shinny…!
thanks my Brother , really appreciate that and we miss Slim too
Ground Sluice? Sounds fascinating👍 Can't wait to learn how to make one! I love learning new things about prospecting🤙 I'm always wandering on Google Earth, never know what I'm looking at☺️ That helped, thanks Jeff! 💯
"I wonder if I should unplug that cord?"🤣🤣🤣
you betcha and we do to
Jeff, you're giving good advice as you usually do. Those 3 specks you dug out could have been sitting near a pocket with a couple of grams or a couple of ounces.
Or a few kilograms. 😉
The point is anything can happen if you're in the right place.
exactly
So happy to see Jeff using his safety squints while working with the crusher.
and my safety sandals too hahhahahaha
@@Askjeffwilliams oopsies almost forgot about them tootsies good on ya friend, gotta keep our national treasure known as Mr. Jeff Williams safe, sound & ready to astound. Absolutely nothing better than a Askjeffwilliams video you Sir are an absolute Rockstar, much luv, respect, admiration & appreciation for all you do good Sir 👊💪and we know what you're going to say " so... c'mon let's go !!!
I've found that if you put your magnet in a plastic bag, it's easy to clean by just turning the bag inside out after removing the black sand from your pan.
PS, I'm glad to see that you're using a Garrett Gravity Trap.
I’ve seen these tertiary channels tons and tons of times on public land and never knew what they were. Now it’s about to get real. Thanks Jeff!!!
you betcha
It's a good idea to weld a funnel to your crusher intake with a hinge and a removable pin so it's easier to put ore in without drop some. You can always take it off if not needed.
good idea
Great video today too!!
You already know what I'm gonna say... LET'S GO!!
Thanks for helping educate a new generation of miners and prospectors! 👍
you betcha
You are just crankin' out the vids :) Thanks for your info and effort, Jeff. Been watching you since you were helping me fix cars!
you betcha and thanks for the long-time viewership , really appreciate that
I hike and survey a few gold bearing creeks and rivers with Google Earth before I head out. Found a collapsed hillside on one of the source creeks. Worth the time put in.
Thank you again jeff and lila for a very educational video!! I learn something new each time i watch one of your videos!! Thank you so much for both of you dedicating your time so that us out here can learn from you guys! You guys are wonderful!!!!
Our pleasure!
Thank you, having a great time learning about prospecting.
I was camping in California while I was in the Army. I walked the area looking for a stream just to get water. And that's primarily what I ran across. Fine gravels on top of weathered river rock which was sitting on bedrock. I did do a grid location on my map. And have yet to return to do sampling. But that's about to change. I've been reading geology books and watching your videos. I think i now have the right training and equipment to do a thorough job of it. The more I've learned, the more I'm convinced I stumbled upon an ancient river bed ,and although the quartz was barely at surface level it has the right strike for possibly holding gold. All that being said, Only a thorough prospect will reveal whether or not my prospecting will pay off. But in either case, I will learn more by doing vs, book smart, but field green. Jeff, your videos are invaluable to us "would be" prospectors. Thank you for devoting so much time to help us out. And yeah,! I knew you were gonna get wet! You're panning gold Sonny Jim!!!
thats great .......thats how you do it ..... now you need to sample that Monker .... always our pleasure
Great teaching video Jeff enjoyed it as usual keep them coming
As always, very good stuff Jeff.
Good morning from Southeast South Dakota

I love these new videos so much better than your old silly ones. These are so much more informative. Thx keep em coming
Thanks, will do!
I liked all the old videos, and I really like these as well for the exploration of the geology and hands on info. Thx for them all! 🙂
When I was in the Marines in the early 90s I remember seeing formations of rock like that in desert of AZ. We deployed all over AZ & CA. The Chocolate Mtn bombing range had lots of cool formations & rocks. Such a different landscape than Michigan's Thumb.
those mountains do contain Gold deposits
Thanks for all the great info. I am ignorant of most of it but some how I can understand what you are saying thanks to your clear and concise presentation. You make it so interesting. Thanks again.🤠
always our pleasure and glad we make it easy to understand

As always, wonderful, entertaining and educational video. THANKS JEFF ❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video Jeff... keep em coming !!! Off US95 near Nelson is Keyhole Canyon, I know you know where its at. Aztec artifacts were found there back in the 1940's, published in Desert Magazine, Nature Magazine, Salt Lake Tribune back in the 50's. No-one knows currently where the artifacts are. Just south from Keyhole is a wash named Aztec wash. Weird note also: Every third Sunday in September, Masonic Lodges of Southern Nevada hold a ceremony there, guarded by Masonic guards during the ceremony... off topic subjects :)...
thanks MDOW........ wow ...now that I didn't know ....wonder why there and what are they doing
Very happy you explained tertiary; I was just about to ask.
Eureka Yeee Haaa
Hopefully you got a descent load of Rain Jeff..

Glad you enjoyed it
I wonder if after you soaked that material for a few days then put it in a freezer for a few days, would it help break it apart? Another great video!
Good educational video.
Cool. That hardpack looks tough!
it was
Nice!
The hard part about living in San Diego as a newbie apprentice prospector it’s that to my untrained eye a lot of areas look exactly like this, mind you where blessed to be a city where gems and gold have been found almost around the entire county.
Hope you find the mine love to c the video thanks for sharing Jeff
you betcha
Jeff, this was a fun video, Mighty Shiny of you to risk becoming like Slim and working with electrical equipment out in the rain. Every time you mention Mojave, my ears perk up because I lived out there for a while. Caution: Tortoise crossing! 🤪😜
hahha I know. Right.... hahhahahaha
Another professor educational video these are great I see a box set for sale I'm the future this information is not only key but priceless great job I wish i.could be out there I know I'd benefit from all the great information n
thanks Tony
Man thanks for putting this out I thought you might of forgotten. Well that’s what I get for thinking.😂 thanks Jeff

Thanks, Jeff , I learned a lot

Hey Jeff a friend of mine in Placerville California has a mine on his property that's under tertiary river. It's so cool as you enter you see nothing but river rock above your head..
we have seen that many times and it is awe inspiring
@Askjeffwilliams another friend in Placerville lives on a shaft site. There was an assey building on the property all kinda crucible and the smaller ones. The shaft goes down a long way you can't even hear anything touch bottom. Apparently there's a complete workshop, with all kinda artifacts. We just haven't got around to try and make our way down
Honey, can ya find my eye-balls! 👀 Lol! Jeff, I've found no matter where my glasses are, they're either falling off my T-shirt collar every time I'm picking rock from the ground, in your case, doing the bump into the pan! ..,. Love to see ya prospecting, all the holes in the walls! ... 💎💪👀🤠
hahhhaha I know...right . Thanks
@@Askjeffwilliams just seen the situation with the rain in Vagas & at the burning man festival 🤯 you weren't joking about setting up to catch that AU after all that rain! Hope the red worms are ok! Lol!....
@@donaldfitzgerald8950 no we were not ....glad we got some rain
We Love You Jeff! Gotta pause this though to go get a "FREE" Jacuzzi from the neighbor, haul on the Roof! And put under shade behind motorhome, then decide the watersourse. Rainwater with filtration? Anyway getting back to many Gold Projects This Month! ⛏️
Thanks for the information and the good time Wild Thing! We usually spend a month or two in that area each year and see a lot of drywashing going on. Glad that you didn't tase yourself!⚡️🌩
you betcha....... hahahhahaa
Think I’m going to head up to the old Pittsburgh mine area here and they have a Sue. Try those washes. Wish me luck never done it before so fingers crossed love the channel Jeff can’t wait to become a patriot and get out there with you to do some metal detecting or mining ❤
keep us posted ....we know you will love coming out with us ...thanks
Great info. Nice having smart guys like you sharing that knowledge!!! And water + electricity = pants blown off😂

Can't wait to see the cleanup video on those ground sluices
from what i understand too the Northern Nevada / Calfornia sierra range is still growing too , Because compared to other mtns theyre a little younger
Man Jeff, you didn't give much of a Google Earth hint, lol like a needle in a hay stack. Nice video. I got my magnifier out.
Thank You Jeff!!
you betcha
And "Yeah, you're gonna get wet !!" Looks like that mound of gravel behind you was a push off that tertiary deposit ? Hope you find the Mine. 👍🤠⚒️⛏️
yes we did my brother ....... yes it did and we are still looking for it .....
There are so many mines east of Fort Mojave, make sure Slim is armed and watching your back.
Jeff ,,, I’d be looking for snakes before anything else 😊it amazes me how Mother Nature has evolved the rock formations that once was below ground or under water at one time. Everything we need on earth Mother Nature has provided for us,,!,I never heard Lila complain about the rain.😂. Thank u both for more prospecting fun.😊
Hi Tina ...it was too hot for them that day ....115 degrees...... exactly and she never does
@@Askjeffwilliams good deal😊⛏️
Good morning from Northeast South Dakota. And good luck Jeff
morning
Jeff you got more gold in your driveway ❤. Sad. And funny at same time.
hahahha I know...right
I saw that same pattern of layers and river rock Structures right in the hillside of the cut next to the road in Wickieup on 93 when I drove through there. So cool. Exposed by highway construction I assume
Thanks!
thanks Richard , really appreciate that
Hey Jeff did you find the stripper pole out there? It is out there........ Love the video and thank you for teaching!
Thanks again
Always welcome
lol...I live in Topock so I know Fort Mohave. I like yr posts quite well..I'd sure like to get out there myself but at 72 and no one to go with I'm leery bout going out by myself..I know there's gold out there..
thanks and yes there is still so much Gold to be had and never go alone

Love all the info in your videos Jeff but makes my head hurt lol and just wondering where did you get that shirt the cammo one I would like one like it

✌🏼
Oatman? Glad to see your out of your back yard. I'm sure the water company is bummed.
hahhahahahahahaa
THANK YOU YOU2 GREAT MINERS..RAIN ,HOPE IT DIDN'T FLOOD ON YOU GUYS..STAY AWESOME.
thanks
Just a quick thought I had.
You let the material sit in a pan of water for "a day or two"
Have you ever though to let it sit overnight and then freeze it? I know a crusher would be easier, but being there could be something great in it. Guess a metal detector would pick that up...
Just a thought
You really are a smart feller
thanks
Hey..I have that same model rock crusher but motor powered..never have used it.Nowyou got me thinking
🤔
👍
I've got 3 specs of gold! One there, and one there. Ain't that two? :P
I always dreamed of moving out west and doing this full time, maybe in another life. I only get the chance once a year with annual trip to Las Vegas when I grab 10 five gallon buckets of concentrates from the roadsides and duct tape a label of where it came from, because I don’t know where else to get stuff Hahahaha then it gives me a weekend hobby through the damn northeast winters and I pan through tablespoons at a time. Lol
Hello Jeff. I see you a lot in the desert. I was wondering if you ever hit the lower Kern river? Any videos of you on the Kern river?
no vids on that one
Hi you two ! That blue material in the bottom of old river channels , what makes it blue? Thank you for making great videos. If i did research im sure it would improve my odds of finding gold. Gotta go the where the gold is first.
yes it would and siliceous blue-black slate and schist fragments give a bluish hue to the gravels, hence the name blue leads or blue gravels
@@Askjeffwilliams thanks for that response of broken slate with high silicon content. There is a lot of slate in California. Slate could have been the bottom of the river at that time then. Great gold trap. !. Im always amazed seeing river beds way up in elevation. Road cuts are easy to see them. I took one sample from a red dirt old river bed but it didnt have gold but it did have plenty of black sand. I should have looked for the old bedrock contact zone. Cant really start hacking away the area on the side of road. Too dangerous and i really dont think it would be appreciated! Lol
With all that clanking and clonking that Rock crusher was doing I was thinking a rock was gonna come flying out thank god it didn't..
😬👌
Hope you don't grind those rocks up at 2:00am!!🤣
Bro you are stylish, nice shirt and hat
thanks
Watch out on those old roads Jeff, some Johnny jumper will tell you to drop those pants!!!
as long as I don't hear no Banjos I am good
@@Askjeffwilliams especially Albino banjo players!!
Don't scare the cat! Damn it all.
Same thing can happen on present day rivers as well cuts a new channel strands old channel happens a lot in younger volcanics
Same storm that flooded the dry lake bed, that those at the Burning Man camped on and were stuck in mud.
Somewhere around, 72,000 participants..
They Should've been prospecting instead. .
My area is clay I can’t wait to try the bucket and drill in my creek. I’ll have water flow and battery power mixer. I have black sand so I’m hoping there’s gold.
Geology is the Keyology to better hunting.
Bingo !
