Nice build. I'm still deciding how far I'd like to go for my ssk003. My current direction is: Crystal, Bezel + insert (still deciding between batman vs pepsi), and leave everything else stock. It's quite tempting to change the chapter ring to the stainless steel because it looks quite nice in your builds. I'm not adventurous enough to change the case and the hand set like you did, haha.
It’s a versatile watch, once you have that conversion bezel on the SSK you can always change it, even have multiple options. I think a Pepsi or Batman will look great, and even a YM style as you can have some fun with dive bezels also. The chapter ring though… I don’t think they make SSK size yet, so best to stick to stock anyway

Congrats on this build and thanks for sharing, I really like it! Being relatively new to the modding scene and to try and slim the watch down a tad, I wonder if it would be worth sacrificing the sapphire case back for a slimmer metal case back, switching to a slim sub bezel (keeping the sloped DLW ceramic bezel with a Namoki’s slim domed sapphire crystal, NMK308) would make it sit better on the wrist… Your thoughts would be welcome.
Either way, think I am going to start gathering some bits for this build later in the year, and I’ll start by snagging that DLW Pepsi bezel!

Hi, thanks for the comment! Yes I get some requests for slimmer options so will attempt a slim version of this soon too - it should work as you describe, only notable difference will be the lack of exhibition caseback but it should still work ok, Namoki have quite a nice slim sub style case also now.
Nice watch, Simon. FYI, Enoksen from Belfast makes a GMT watch (based on the 4R34) with a 24-click bezel.

I have a SSK005, want to try a crystal and bezel swap.
Need to pick a color. Thinking a black and white or batman
For the orange I’d go black/white, black/grey or even full YM style silver!
Love SKX dial with Rolex style Mercedes hands, only wish I could find a no date SKX dial
Not from seiko but I think DLW watches has a plain one

Can you get a normal case back for these watches?
Yeah a plain/solid case back can be used instead too

@@M1KEEC if you’re using the case from the video any SKX007 caseback will fit. If you’re using the standard SSK001 case then you’ll need to find a 7s26 caseback, it has shorter threads

So let me get this right, you butcher a Seiko to create a pseudo Rolex, with no cyclops! 🤔 Am I missing something here?
